The Ghostbloods make an offer - and woe betide those who think they can refuse. Top, from left to right: Mraize, Iyatil, Kelsier, Spook Bottom: Shallan The cat is a random cat Kelsier picked up outside. Bonus points to those who know their Godfather lore. (Do I think Kell being the Godfather of the Cosmere mafia is both awesome and totally fitting for the character? Yes. Yes, I do.)

I'm new to the forum - been searching around a bit without much luck. I'm wondering if anyone has made a solid connection between Allik from Bands of Mourning with Iyatil from Words of Radiance? As far as I recall they are the only two characters who have a propensity for seemingly permanent mask-wearing. I did find a confirmation from Brandon that Iyatil is a world hopper, and Allik was presented as some unknown type of 'alien' in Bands. So I am assuming they are connected in the Cosmere (maybe from Silverlight?). Just curious if anyone had something more concrete? Thanks!

As I received book 17 of Oathbringer, my question to Brandon was "name a character that is in the 17th shard, but we do not know it". His response in my book was Iyatil used to be a member of the 17th shard. Thoughts... theories?! Exciting stuff!

There is no reference in the books directly linking the two but I got a feeling that these might be the same person. Am I alone in this?

Did anyone else LOL when they read this in Words of Radiance, knowing Mraize said it as Iyatil JUST sat down right next to Shallan?

Here's something that jumped out at me right away - the SoScad group called Hunters. Each child is given a mask, and then given another when they become an adult. Allik claims that the Hunters somehow grow into their masks. This immediately makes me think of Iyatil from the Ghostbloods. She is described as short, something the SoScads all seem to have in common (Shallan actually thinks she is a young boy when she first meets her, iirc) and she has a red-and-orange carapace mask that appears to have skin growing around it.

So I was reading the Orem Library Signing on December 6 post and I came across this quote from zaz678: Assuming that Iyatil is actually the person Brandon is talking about and that she is a worldhopper then there is a high chance that we have seen her before somewhere. Now looking at what Brandon said about her not being from the same planet that her parents are from I can only think of how the people of Threnody had a history of migration and that some left the "homeland" or "fallen world" and moved to another continent. What if this "fallen world" was actually another planet? If all my ramblings are true and Iyatil is from Threndoy then there are only 2 people I can think of that could be her: Silence and Sebruki. Both are quite short (even though Sebruki is like 8 I think Brandon mentions that she is quite short anyway) I think Sebruki is a better match since she was really quite and deadly even as a child. So any thoughts? Also I don't know how to use quotes from other posts so can someone please tell me how to do that?
