So i just realized, dalinar has been hiding the honorblade in the ventilation/sewage lines for right now. Sooo when they figure out how to power up that storming huge power core, are all the systems going to start up automatically? Will dalinar have the foresight to move the blade before turning the ignition on Urithiru? One would hope so, but seeing as that wouldnt be very interesting... is someone else about to get a surprise gift flying out of their vents or privy?!? Who would be the most terrifying person to take posession of the honorblade?

In the Epilogue to The Way of Kings I noticed that Wit refers to "Talenel's" (ugh. Brandon you cagey weasel) Blade as a Shardblade instead of an Honorblade. "And then a bright, silvery blade rammed between the massive doors, slicing upward, cutting the bar that held them closed. A Shardblade." Wouldn't Wit know that this was no mere Shardblade? Wouldn't he know it was an Honorblade?

So, I've scoured all the questions and can't seem to find one that answers mine, so correct me if I'm wrong. In one of the WoB threads I read, Brandon answers a question that honor blades can't be bonded, "Q: Can someone bond more than one Honorblade A: Honorblade? You can't bond an Honorblade, though it can be given to you. Shardblades, however, come from a spren bond and it is possible to bond more than one. [This was cleared up at a later signing.]" but at the end of WoR, Szeth clearly severed his bond with the blade, when Syl says to Kaladin, "He has released the bond. He's nothing without that sword! It must not be lost!" (1256 paperback ed.) So my question is, can an honor blade be bonded or not? And if it is bonded how is it done? With a gem at the bottom like "regular" shardblades?

@Tariniel "Could it be that the some form of the Heralds' minds are held in their Blades? Being that the Honorblades are a large part of what makes a Herald a Herald, that seems to make sense to me. Taking this a little further, it could be that the Heralds are tortured on Braize, not only until they break, but until they actually die. At least physically. Their minds live on in the Honorblades, which then return to Roshar and are bonded by the bodies which will eventually become the new Heralds. There is even a WoB (It's here, I believe) which says that they can remain on Roshar for a certain period of time before another Desolation begins. That could be a transitional phase when the bodies accustom themselves to holding the Herald's mind within them, allowing for them to be fully adjusted and ready to carry out their individual missions once the Desolation starts. This 'Taln' could simply be the body holding the Herald Talenelat, a suitable explanation for Brandon's cryptic way of referring to him. What do you guys think?" This was a brilliant idea I ran across made by @Tariniel that I wanted to add to with a tiny bit of evidence Here are all the Death Rattles that I believe to be made by Taln This is the first and most related to the above paragraph. That shard of his soul could be the Honorblades. Which could explain that Taln's physical body is still in Braize. While his blade became the man known as Taln once Talenel broke physically in braize, splitting his cognitive shadow (which I also believe to be held in the blades) from his body. This "Shard of his soul" is now on Roshar somewhere... since there is another entire topic related to Talenel's blade I shall just maintain that the "man known as Taln" as said by a WoB must have touched the fallen honorblade and was imprinted or perhaps IS a living Honorblade, A Nightblood esque chracter who is an actual physical human. This is Taln's death in my opinion. Perhaps the most shocking evidence of how devastating the betrayal of the other Heralds really is. Taln stands not just the average every day torment in hell, but rather one compounded. Atlas bearing the weight of a world in my opinion. Also the "Madness of them all" is interesting, since we know the "Heralds are all insane" per WoB, I wonder if perhaps this insanity was still given to the others even though they didn't return to Braize. This last death rattle is Taln's blade returning to Roshar, along with his cognitive shadow to be implanted upon the new Taln. All responses are welcome and arguments appreciated!

After the prologue, we encounter Taln (the Herald of War) at the end of Way of the Kings where he cuts through the city gate using his honorblade. Next in the Words of Radiance, while he is kept in the asylum, Dalinar bonds with Taln's blade. At the end when Dalinar bonds with the Stormfather, he hears screams from the same 'blade' indicating it was a Shardblade. So, what happened to Taln's 'honorblade'? Was it swapped 'offscreen'? If so, any theories regarding the swap and who might have done it?

An idea I'm sure can't be original but now that Kaladin has an honorblade AND a spren will we see him duel wield with a sword and spear, because that would make me squee at the commencing bad*ssery *burns a thousand glyphwards in prayer for this to the great Brandon Sanderson*

Do we know where the honor blades were left by the heralds? I was under the impression that they were on a different world, so how did the Shin recover the blades? Are they world-hoppers? Is there a perpendicularity in west that only they have access to? Is it made of stone? =)

I am not confident about what I am about to ask, So if I am being stupid tell me. At the end of Words of Radiance Dalinar became a bondsmith after bonding the stormfather. Then he summoned his Shardblade (Taln's Honorblade) heard screaming after which he unbonded it. As for as I know Shardblades are dead spren and when a Knights Radiant touches them he heards screams but Honorblade are different. Honorblades were given to heralds by Honor and are not spren. When Kaladin took Szeth's blade , He heard no screaming as he heard when he touched a Shardblade. So My Questions then are: Dalinar heard Screams when he touched an Honorblade but Kaladin did not why? Maybe because Dalinar was bonded to one and Kaladin was not OR if not then........................ If a knights radiant can touch an honorblade So does it imply that Dalinar's blade was not an honorblade but rather a shardblade? if so then the madman Taln is not the Herald? Was the man switched or just the blade? Could it be due to different orders of Kaladin and Dalinar? Or does it have something to do with Dalinar? Maybe he is not who we think he is.

I looked and I could find this theory being discussed so here we go. this assumes that Talnfrom the end of WoK is Talenel. Also that his shardblade is an Honorblade but by the time he gets the the shattered planes it has been switched to a normal shardblade. most of my info is from the coppermind. Basically I think Hoid took Talenel's Honorblade. We know he has acquired a significant amount of Breath and that he took a Lerasium pellet from the Well of Ascension. I'm sure there is other evidence that he is gathering "powers" from different worlds. With an Honorblade he would have both a shardblade and the surges affiliated with Talenel's order. Thats the whole reason Hoid is waiting for Taln. All Hoid needs is to have acquired an unknown shardblade and switch them without anyone knowing. Hoid has proved pretty resourceful in the past so I don't see a problem.

This page assumes that "Taln" is in fact Herold Talenel which we have no confirmation of. This is in speculation but I feel wording is too strong: I don't want to edit until I'm sure.

Recently Mister Sanderson replied to an interesting question on Reddit. The Question alone would be a bit interesting but his answer have some cool extras: First of all we have a confirm that someone may get the Surgebinder's perks also through the Honorblades and it's not something unique to the Nahel bond. But the part I feel really spicy is this: "For example, Jezrien didn't actually have any squires, as none of the Heralds did." This sentence may have a couple of interpretations: - Heralds never had Squires - Heralds has no Squires now Both are pretty interesting (of course the first more) because this mean that modern Nale's Skybreaker can't be his Squires. This mean that if we see someone of the drawn in stormlight, They must to have a RK at least. Much more (to me) this WoB destroy the possibility of a Szeth as Squire of Nale as a way for him to be capable of Breath Stormlight to use Nightblood.

I was traveling back to MN from WI, and i stopped at a gas station and noticed they were selling audiobooks/graphic audio thingys. Just for fun I searched to see if they had any Sanderson novels, and they did! On the front of The Way of Kings graphic audio, it depicted Szeth unsheathing his honorblade. That made me think, do Honorblades have sheaths? Shardblades certainly don't.

So we know that, at the end of WoR, Kaladin grabbed Szeth's Honorblade. We also know that, according to Syl, Honorblades require "a dangerous amount" of Stormlight. My question is, if Kaladin were to wield an Honorblade would it do anything to him? So first off imagine if he wielded Szeth's: 1) The Honorblade would actually drive away Syl, weakening his powers, and forcing him to use more stormlight. 2) The Honorblade would compound his abilities, similar to compounding in Mistborn perhaps, and making him impossibly powerful. 3) The Honorblade does nothing. 4) The Honorblade simply requires him to use more Stormlight. 5) The Honorblade refuses to bond with him Or what if he wielded one of the other 9 blades: 1) He now has access to four surges, two requiring normal amounts Stormlight, and two requiring "a dangerous amount" of Stormlight. 2) He now has access to four surges, all four requiring "a dangerous amount" of Stormlight. 3) He now has access to four surges, all four requiring normal amounts of Stormlight 4) Syl is driven away, he has access to two surges. 5) The Honorblade refuses to bond with him. 6) His basic surges are weakened, but he can still use four 7) He becomes a cat. I think that for Szeth's the first one is the most likely, maybe five. For the second one maybe four, or five, probably seven though. What are your thoughts, ideas, and everything else, please let me know.

So as we know at the end of WoR after Kaladin defeated Szeth, he took the honorblade and after he presented it to Dalinar(where he got caught off because of Navani demanding if Kaladin had seen the King) we were left in the dark as to what Kaladin did with Jezrein's honorblade. Here are some possibilities that i've thought (some/most of them might be common theories) Kaladin gave it to Dalinar and Dalinar just hid it somewhere in fear of the risk that another person might get a hold of it like Szeth did. Kaladin gave it to Dalinar in which he gave it to Elokhar or Adolin or somebody else. Kaladin informed Dalinar of it but they decided that Kaladin keeps and bonding with it but never ending up summoning it (cause he already has surgebinding and he has Syl for shardblade necessity which is just a better version than honorblades) which would probably also possibly explain as to why Kaladin ran out of Stormlight just by flying all the way from Urithru to Heartstone(just a they that Kaladin shoud've reached there without draining all of his stormlight) due to the more than normal amount of consumption due to the compouding effects of having both Windrunner and Honorblade stormlight usage. Kaladin informed it Dalinar of it and Dalinar kept it (would be really useful since stormfather is unwilling to become his personal shardblade as the current time of the story) since he can't wield shardblades and it was under Kaladin's suggestion(also makes sense since Kaladin trusts him). Wit stole it (unlikely cause he was found to be with Jasnah at the end). Kaladin informed Dalinar about it and he made bridge four stash the blade for him. Thoughts ? I'd like to hear about your theories as well if you have one.

Words of Radiance Spoilers below, please be warned. Perhaps I failed to follow something, however this seems to be an oversight in Words of Radiance. We start out with a conversation between Dalinar and Amaram in which Dalinar shows Amaram his irrefutable evidence of Amaram's deceitful nature. Dalinar reveals that he had planted the rumor that the Herald Talanel spoke of a treasure of Shardblades hidden in a cave. Dalinar had placed Talanel's blade in the cave, but only after having bonded with it. He then summoned the blade after Amaram had thought he successfully stole it. The important distinction to recall here is that Dalinar bonded with Talanel's blade. Later in the book Dalinar is speaking with the Stormfather and wishes to bond him. The stormfather tells Dalinar that he will have to get rid of his shardblade, which we have learned is essentially the undead corpse of a spren (rather metal in my opinion). Dalinar drops the blade and instantly breaks his bond. This is the part I have a question about, as it does not make sense, and if it does make sense it paints a very different picture of Talanel. We learn from both Sylphrena and the internal monologue of Szeth that the original shardblades were made by Honor, whom Dalinar refers to as the Almighty. We also learn that these blades are different from other shardblades in that they give the wielder surgebinding powers, and are referred to as Honorblades. This was later imitated by the spren who wanted to follow in the footsteps of Honor and help fight the Desolations, thus creating the Radiants. This sets up the conflict that I read with Dalinar's conversation with the Stormfather. The Honorblades are not spren corpses like the rest of the shardblades. The honorblades give surgebinding capabilities to the wielders. With those two statements held to be true, we have to ask two questions: 1.) Why was Dalinar unable to inhale Stormlight until after he bound the Stormfather if he was bonded to an Honorblade? and 2.) Why did the Stormfather have Dalinar cast aside his shardblade if it was not a spren corpse, but in fact an Honorblade? I can arrive at two separate conclusions for this. One is simple, there was a Continuity error and it was missed in editing. There was never meant to be any hidden meaning behind Dalinar bonding a Herald's Honorblade, and it's a miniscule issue in what has so far been an exemplary piece of fantasy writing. The second conclusion is a little heavier. This is the assumption that Sanderson and his editors are far more diligent than I am, and in fact intended every scene. This implies that either the Herald Talanel bonded a shardblade other than an Honorblade; or Talanel is not a Herald. If this is the case, it could suggest a follow up, if Talanel is not a herald, is it possible that the man who saves Szeth is not a Herald either? I am very interested to hear anyone else's input on this. I am new to the forum, and it is possible this has been discussed before and I haven't found the thread, if so I apologize.

As I recall, there is a WoB out there that states that Vasher/Zahel survives on Roshar using stormlight to fuel his life instead of breath. Well, that all makes sense. I can see why one kind of investiture would be as good a fuel as another. I suppose absorbing stormlight is very convenient for a returned Vasher, because it is a lot less rare than breath, plus he probably has access to it's healing properties and the like. But. How exactly is he absorbing stormlight? Regular people don't do that! So. The fact that he can absorb it in the first place only has a few possible explanations. Each of them have very interesting implications. Let us examine them. Explanation 1: There is a trick that will let anyone absorb stormlight, and only Vasher knows it (maybe some kind of fabrial...?). This trick is how he is able to breath stormlight. This would be extremely interesting because that means everyone can theoretically use a ubiquitous resource on Roshar to gain supernatural strength, speed, and healing. This is fairly unlikely, because I can't really see how the story would work if some day people figure this out, and then everyone on Roshar is suddenly superhuman. Explanation 2: This has something to do with the fact that Vasher is returned. Somehow, his status of returned is letting him breath stormlight. I have no idea why being returned would let him do this, but it seems like a sensible explanation. This would also in turn mean that a lot of returned would probably find it convenient to move to Roshar. I would probably say this explanation is the second most likely, even though the mechanism for how this could work is (at least right now) unclear. Explanation 3: This one is quite unlikely. But possibly why Vasher can use stormlight is because he is actually a radiant. Perhaps after the events in Warbreaker, he eventually became one of the first radiants, probably around the time Jasnah was discovering her powers. I doubt it, but we can't rule it out I suppose. Explanation 4: This one is in my opinion the most interesting. And I believe it is also the most likely option. Vasher has an honorblade. Most honorblades are held by the Shin (one of them of coarse being wielded by Szeth), but there is also reason to believe that some of them are missing from the Shin. When Taravangian was lying to Szeth about one of the blades disappearing (to explain Kaladin's powers), I think he said something like "one of the eight" disappeared. That means the Shin own eight of the ten. I am pretty sure Nalan has one of the missing blades, because Lift witnessed him wield a shardblade and use stormlight. I believe Vasher secretly owns the second missing blade. That lines up with everything we know so far. And this happens to be the only known mechanism for someone who doesn't take radiant oaths to be able to do what Vasher is apparently doing. So, in conclusion, Vasher probably owns an honorblade I guess. He seems to have some kind of affinity for extremely invested swords.

So, yesterday night, during a particularly interesting moment of clarity brought on by a lack of sleep and energy drinks, I finally stumbled on what I consider to be my biggest theory related to the Cosmere as a whole. That is, I have a pretty solid idea on how Honorblades function. So, let's get down to business, and take a look at the facts that we know. We know that spren (but only certain types) are able to imitate what the Honorblades are capable of. We know that most of the spren are made from either Honor, Cultivation, or both (I'm not including Voidspren here). There are even some pre-Shattering ones hanging about. We know that some spren, like the honorspren, are actually Splinters of Honor (Syl is a "little piece," I believe the term is). Similarly, there are other spren who either Splinters of Honor, Splinters of Cultivation, or quite possibly both. Splinters are primarily things of the Spiritual and Cognitive Realms, and not so much Physical. (Source) We know, from Warbreaker, that Splinters can be made from living Shards of their own free will. Odium just likes Splintering Shards so that he doesn't absorb them, and so it's immensely difficult for others to seize that power. So, with these facts assembled, I'd like to make the following proposition: Honorblades are Splinters of Honor. Simply put, the honorspren (as an example) were able to mimic what the Honorblades did in the form of the Nahel bond. If that is the case, then there must be some similarity between them (ie, Jezrien's blade and an honorspren would both bond to someone's Spiritweb in the same place). However, there are some key differences, and that's where things get interesting. From what I can gather, the Honorblades lack any form of Intent, or their Intent is not particularly relevant. This is presumably designed by Tanavast, as the Honorblades are capable of bonding to any individual and granting them access to Surgebinding. The spren, on the other hand, can use their bonded individual's alignment with their Intent (ie, adherence to their Words) in order to greatly increase the efficiency with which Investiture is processed and controlled. So, in exchange for being available for virtually anyone to use, the Honorblades lack the ability to process Stormlight as effectively as a Radiant who is fully attuned with their spren's Intent. I've got some further speculations, but these are mostly rough ideas, and heavily rely upon further understanding of the Spiritweb and the Spiritual Realm. Since these aren't subjects we fully understand yet, it's something I'll reserve for a later date.

Hey Sharders! Sorry about the title, it just feels right though. I know this theory has some holes in it. I can see some main ones myself. But I'm still going to post it. For me it started like this: Could the screams that Szeth hears be related to the screams of the dead Shardblades? I then thought that Szeth could have already been bonded to a spren, and that was why he heard screams. One of the things that go against this is that his Blade is not a spren, and therefore would not scream when he touches it. I also found a WoB that says directly that Szeth isn't bonded to a spren, so... Obviously, Szeth has had some emotional and mental trauma. (Hearing screams whenever you blink can do that to a person.) Anyway, his Honorblade once belonged to a Herald who had to go to a place of pain and torture between Desolations. Could this mean that his Blade "remembers" the pain and makes it's wielder hear screams? That's one idea. Another is that when Honor died, the Honorblades suffered and now scream, or something like that. In short it's like this: He hears screams because he's already bonded to a spren. (I'm pretty sure this one is false) He hears screams because he mentally unstable and his Blade had decided to be reminiscent. (More plausible than the first one) The Honorblades were somehow broken or are suffering now that Honor is dead. (Also plausible) Let me know what you guys think.

So, I've been thinking on this for a while, and wanted some extra insight on it. So, at the end of Words of Radience, as Dalinar bonds with the Stormfather, the Stormfather makes him cast aside the Shardblade he is bonded to. Because of the Amaram subplot, we know Dalinar is currently bonded with Taln's(the madman we assume to be the Herald) blade, which, if he is in fact a Herald, would make this blade an Honorblade. However, when Dalinar summons it, he still hears the screams of the dead spren. However, when Kaladin took Szeth's Honorblade, he heard no screams. Does this mean that the man we assume to be Taln the Herald is not in fact the Herald? Or does it mean that Taln lost his Honorblade somewhere along the way? Any input is greatly appreciated. I hope I got some of ya'll's gears turning.

SPOILERS for Words of Radiance After Kaladin defeats Szeth he takes possession of the honorblade Szeth used so my question is can Kaladin bound to it while he is bounded to Syl? This might have been answered somewhere before, but I don't know where to find it and am interested to hear what people have to say on it.

Ok in the Prelude to TWoK Talenel (Taln, Talenelat, Talenel'Elin) dies and his honorblade vanishes, so that there are only 9 left in the circle. In Words of Radiance, doesn't Dalinar bond Talenel'Elin's honorblade? And if Dalinar DID bond the honorblade, as WoR mentions in multiple places that Dalinar had bonded "that madman's blade". Why, at the end of WoR, does the blade that Dalinar has bonded start screaming inside his head after Dalinar swears his second oath, and The Stormfather refer to the blade as a "monstrosity"?? Especially if Szeth had an honorblade, and it did not scream in Kaladin's mind.

At the end of WOR, when Dalinar bonds with the Stormfather, he is told (WOR ch. 89) he must be a "Radiant with no Shards," and the Stormfather refers to the blade he has a "monstrosity." When he summons the Shardblade that he had bonded with in order to give it up, he hears screams. My problem with this is, wasn't that blade the blade that was found when Taln collapsed at the gate of Kholinar (procured by Bordin, and later left in a cave to ensnare Amaram)? Shouldn't that be an Honorblade? If so, it isn't a dead spren so it shouldn't scream when he touches it (the same way Szeth's blade doesn't scream when Kaladin holds it, see WOR ch. 87). It doesn't seem like it could be a different Shardblade that Taln got somewhere, because [speculation] when he got to Kholinar he had just manifested (he was wet, like Shardblades that are just summoned And then he collapsed and the blade didn't dissapear). So, I decided to reread the part (WOR ch. 76) where Dalinar summons the blade and explains to Amaram that he had bonded with it before having placed "the madman's Shardblade" in the cave. And wouldn't you know it: The description of the blade Dalinar has is "wider than most" and "cleaverlike." That is almost the exact opposite of the description of Taln's blade at the end of (WOK Epilogue), "long, narrow, and straight, shaped like an enormous spike." Dalinar is not a liar. He thinks he bonded with "the madman's Shardblade." But, he is wrong - the blade he bonded to was some other blade. The question is, what happened to Taln's Honorblade. 1) Dalinar didn't tell the full truth to Amaram, and Dalinar does know about the Honorblade, but it is somewhere else.... Dalinar bonded with some other blade and used it to trap Amaram after obtaining the Honorblade. This seems unlikely. 2) The Honorblade was switched at some point between Kholinar and the Shattered Plains. Likely suspects: Hoid (who traveled with Bordin and Taln for the first few days before bailing) or Bordin (the servant in charge of the transporting). It would indeed be problematic for Dalinar if Bordin was disloyal, because Dalinar considers him to be a faithful servant. Thoughts?

So: Are Honorblades a type of Fabrial? First a quote: http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1052 So. What we know. The Heralds were given Honorblades. These blades allow them to do special things (surges & absorb stormlight). Later, Spren bonded with Humans, and are able to emulate Honorblades. When one of these Spren "dies" it has the physical form of an ShardBlade (mimicking an honorblade). There are other quotes saying that the Heralds can only do surgebinding with the HonorBlade but have other "gifts" as well. Speculation (Honorblades & old-style Fabrials): 1) Honor created (or had someone create, or created with the help of Cultivation) 10 Super-Fabrials, the Honorblades, gave these to the Heralds, along with some additional investment to the Heralds themselves. 2) The creation of (old-style) Fabrials has something to do with Spren. Changing a spren to, or forging a spren with an object (metal?). I cannot speculate here. We have two types of examples in the Cosmere. Investiture can have a solid form (metal) - so possibly, a spren + solid investiture could be shaped into a sword. We also have an example of a normal sword imbued with "breath" that creates a "type of Shardblade". 3) Other Fabrials were created in a similar way (regrowth, soulcasting, etc). basically, small scale, single surge human copies of the Honorblades (not sure if the shape is important for old-style fabrials). 4) Holding an Honorblade gives a user an imperfect bond with the Spren within the Honorblade. The holder can absorb stormlight to power the surges, but is not efficient. The stormlight holding ability is not part of the lesser man-made old-style fabrials, which require inset stones as a powersource, (or power from someone with a spren-bond, that is, the surgebinder is the power source, rather than a gem). That is, the man-made fabrials do not provide a bond with the holder, which allows holding stormlight -- though something odd is happening to those folks who use a Soulcaster too often. 5) The weak bond to the Honorblade spren may or may not allow small changes to the Honorblade's appearance over time. 6) Spren gain consciousness over time. I believe that is stated in the books. I assume the Honorblade is created with a pre-conscious/unthinking/primordial radiant spren Speculation (Shardblades & new-style Fabrials) 1) Mature Spren of the same type used for the Honorblades bonded with normal Humans, and learned they could mimic the Honorblades (that is, are able to manifest in the physical world as a blade, and provide surgebinding - this may imply that the Honorblades are simply bound Spren, not swords imbued with spren). 2) Because the bond is strong, the physical manifestation is more malleable (can be sword, spear, knife, etc), and Stormlight use is more efficient (unlike the weaker version of the bond with an Honorblade). The "Dead" spren manifest as a sword, because that is how they see themselves (mimicking the Honorblades). However, they can also change slightly over time, depending on their wielder. The "dead"-spren bond must be even weaker than that with Honorblades, since the wielder cannot hold stormlight. 3) I am categorizing New-style Fabrials with the Knights Radiant, because, instead of the spren manifesting as the Fabrial, a spren is captured in a gem, and the fabrial is a separate component (like the KR), making use of the spren's innate investiture. Now. using all this speculation, I can infer that Shardplate is an Old-style Fabrial (made up of spren, the same way old Fabrials were made) and requires either a Radiant, or gems to provide power. Further, that the original KRs (or a specific subset of them) knew how to (were able to) make old style Fabrials, since the KRs have plate, and access to old-style fabrials (in the visions). So, at the end of WoR, when Dalinar bonds the Stormfather, the Stormfather refers to Dalinar's blade as an "abomination". Is not Dalinar's blade Talen'elat's Honorblade? Why would the Stormfather refer to it as an abomination, when it is not a spren corpse?

Szeth said that if he were to die the Stone Shamans would come to collect his blade from whoever killed him. How would they know? Clearly they are always watching Szeth, which begs the question of how? Do they have a web of spies or does one of the surges granted by the honorblades give the ability of far-sight? Or maybe this is a power entirely separate that the stone shamans employ. Either way, I would guess they are aware that Szeth lost his blade, and possibly that he is coming for them.
