  1. How it works is this: Somebody posts a song. Please make an effort to listen to the posted song before posting yourself, though it's not necessary. Once you do... Tell us what you thought. Then post a song of your own! The idea here is to both share your favorite songs and try out some new songs at the same time. But in a funner way than simply saying, "Hey! You should go listen to this."Of course, it goes without saying that you should keep it all clean. Also, try to keep it short. It would be a bit much if everybody went around posting two-hour-long symphonies. So, to start us off, I'll recommend Avicii's Broken Arrows. Honestly, I just heard it for the first time today. But I bought it withing five minutes, it was that good. Catchy song, awesome lyrics... yeah.
  2. The point of this forum game is to find a quote from one of Brandon's books (make sure you type the quote) and say interpret it in the most ridiculous way. For example, using the description of a decrepit house a a reflection of the author himself, etc.
  3. So, in the upvote-friendly Random Stuff V thread, which is closed, something else came up in the first couple of pages. I cannot give you a link, cause it was in Allomancy's thread. Unfortunately. In a discussion, Kobold King gave a delightful description of Voidus. You can find it in Voidus's sig. So Sharders! Here is your job! Make a colorful, fun, elegant description of the person above you. Think of who they are, what they do, and what they are known for. Let's go!!
  4. To Shatter a Shard Jain shivered in the corner of his cell, his eyes squeezed shut to block out the world. A World devoid of Mercy. He didn’t know how long he’d been in The Cellar. All he knew was what Hoid told him, and the man took a perverse delight in tormenting him. There was a clang, as the cell door opened. Light fell on his eyelids, and he huddled deeper into the corner. Light meant that Hoid was back. His tormentor. What would it be this time? Another illusion of freedom? Some succulent meal that would turn to ash as soon as he partook of it? Or something new? A hand grabbed him by the neck, and pulled him upright. Ah, so it was to be a beating then. “Stand up boy. I’m freeing you.” Jain blinked his eyes open, and looked at his tormentor. Hoid looked regretful, an expression he had never seen before. He tried to respond, but only coughed weakly, and tried again. “I, I can’t.” Warmth Enveloped his body, and he suddenly felt better than he had in ages. A confident, fatherly voice sounded in his Ear. “Don’t worry Jain, Hoid isn’t going to hurt you anymore. We need your help. Odium has returned to a new Host. Now Rise.” He blinked again, then rose one foot. He pressed it against the stone floor and pushed. Hoid let go of his neck, and the prisoner stood on his own for the first time since his Panda’s death. His jailer was looking towards the door, so Jain followed Hoid's gaze to see Leif, the Holder of Endowment. “Thank you Sir. Why do you need me?” “After the last time Odium struck, we three are the only ones without hatred in our hearts. We three are the only ones to be trusted. Even the other Shards feel and act on his Hatred. We must find the Dread Lord and Destroy him, before he can destroy us. Furthermore, you were once Odium's own Slave. You know his actions and thoughts better than any other. Will you join us Jain?” “Of course.” \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Ash, holder of Odium and Lord of Hatred, watched as the Seventeenth Shard gathered. The last time they had gathered in such numbers, they had been hunting his predecessor. For them to be gathering again spoke of a momentous event. Could it be that they had learned of his revival? Impossible. The only ones who knew were Devotion and Survival, and they would never betray him. A pillar of Golden Light came down from the heavens, interrupting Ash’s thoughts. A Pale Shin man stepped out and surveyed the crowd. He was followed by two Lifeless, carrying Corpses. The man spoke quietly, and the Lifeless dropped their loads on the ground. The crowd gasped as they saw their faces. Ash just frowned. Cleo and Kae, Shardholders of Devotion. It looked like they did know he was back. At least he could be more active in killing now, rather than arranging accidents. The Shin man raised his hands for silence. “Fellow Sharders, these two betrayed us. They have collaborated with others, to bring Odium back.” He paused as the crowd started chattering fearfully. “We were lucky enough to have captured them before they could cause too much Hatred, and their Shard has been given to a new bearer, but we don’t know who else is working for Odium. He has undoubtedly infiltrated us again, along with his champions. So, who among you are willing to help capture them?” Ash slid back through the crowd as people began to raise their hands in service. Luckily no one knew him in this current identity, so he could sign up as someone completely new, and no one would ever know. He signaled to the others in the crowd he knew, those few who had sworn their loyalty to him. They nodded, and rose their hands in service as well. Together, they would make the Seventeenth Shard tear itself apart, just like last time. Sign ups for Long Game 14 Have begun! Rules Signups will close on Sunday the 30th of August, at 9:00pm PST. (Exactly one week from this posting.) The Game will begin One hour later. Turns will always end at 9:00pm PST, and begin one hour after. We will begin on a Day turn. If you’re on Mobile, and can’t change the colour of your vote, please go to the bottom of your post, hit enter twice, and say who you’re voting for a second time, so that I don’t miss it. This is the First and Last game I will say this. THERE ARE NO SECRET ROLES OR RULES. Final Note*: I’m playing this game as a direct Sequel to A Game of Shards, so if you want to know where the prisoner, Leif, Ash and Cleo/Kae came from, Go read that! At least, read the Final Writeup. The Prisoner is totally Jain, I just need his permission to show that. Quick Links
  5. So lately I've been playing a Ton of the game Destiny and was wondering if anyone else plays as well. 6. I've been working on a simple unity game for practicing binary. There's nothing too complicated about it but if you want to give it a try I've currently got it hosted through my google drive, you can try it here. It should run fine in firefox or ie, you can use chrome but the unity web plugin is blocked by default in chrome. If you have any thoughts or feedback they will, of course, be appreciated
  7. (I was going to put this in Creator's Corner as a world-building exercise, but then I thought maybe other people might be interested in it as well.) (Boring preamble) The point of this game is to come up with your own theoretical form of society, whether a Utopian one (i.e. how society would work if you had your way) or otherwise. You then speculate on what that society might be like. The system of rules followed by the society can be as simple or as complex as you wish. Try to be original, though it's okay if you just want to share an existing social theory that you really like. You can also indicate if you want others to critique your theory or not. I will be linking entries that I like here in the OP. Serious entries: Skaa's Imperial Communist Aristocratic Society (Expanded here, here, and here) Venture Mistborn's Selective Society (Expanded here) Gargoyle's Responsible Society (Expanded here)
  8. I was looking through my old files on my computer when I found an assignment that I completed for English. Our class was assigned to write a Beowulf Boast based on the techniques used by the Beowulf Poet. Basically, you make the accomplishments of your life seem amazing, no humbleness allowed. To make it interesting, you use massive ammounts of kennings. Kennings are used to replace words with more abstract compounds. For example, "death" may be replaced with the words "sleep of the sword." The two things mean the same, but using "sleep of the sword" hides the meaning in plain sight and makes it sound more poetic. Another technique is to use synonyms to hide what you are saying. I propose a game where one person will make a Beowulf boast (of at least four lines) and the next people will try to guess what character from a Brandon Sanderson book the boast applies to. Whoever gets it right gets to write a new one that people will guess on. If there are more than five wrong guesses, provide some hints, if nobody gets it after ten guesses, just reveal it. For example: When fire comes, I remain. Practitioner of the alloy of senses, I have obtained the highest degree of my calling, Battled the Ending God, And led my people to a new world. This boast is for Spook. I hope that this isn't too confusing. My boast for you to guess is thus: Didact of herbs, I betrayed truth for circles of weath, Living in a society run by a tyrant, My offspring became wielders of weapons. If anybody is interested, here is the Beowulf Boast that I wrote. If you want me to edit in an explanation, just let me know.mif anybody wants to guess on that, they are fine to, just make sure that it is annotated seperate from the other guesses. Here is the explanation of my Boast:
  9. This is a slightly more PG9 version of the other game. (Cliff, shag and marry.) It basically goes like this: Person A provides the names of three characters. [Can be Sanderson characters or from other fandoms--just try to pick something people are likely to know!] Person B decides who they would supply with an army, who they would elect as Prime Minister (or President, for those of you in presidential systems), and whose writings they'd like to read. They can supply reasons for that choice, but it's not necessary. Then, Person B suggests another three characters for the next person. And so on! I'll start it off: Kaladin, Vasher, and Hrathen.
  10. I just thought that this might be fun since we haven't had one of these in a while. For this round, I'm only including canon Epics, mostly those who make physical appearances in the books, with a few exceptions (specifically some fondly speculated-upon name-dropped Epics...). For those of you who haven't played before, on your turn you: Hurt one person for two health points or hurt two people for one HP each. Always highlight whomever you're hurting in red. Heal one person for one HP. Highlight this person in green. You cannot hurt and heal the same person in one turn. You must hurt and heal on your turn; don't just do one or the other. Once you hurt'n'heal, you must wait for at least 2 more people to post before posting again. Anyone who reaches 20 HP becomes immune and is highlighted purple. You cannot hurt this person until the second round, which starts when there is only one non-immune person on the board (that person's HP is automatically raised to 20 and kept on the roster). The second round's HP cap is 30 and no one can become immune. Let the games begin! 10 Steelheart 10 Firefight 10 Nightwielder 10 Conflux 10 Fortuity 10 Deathpoint 10 The Pink Pinkness 10 Mitosis 10 Regalia 10 Sourcefield 10 Obliteration 10 Newton 10 Dawnslight 10 Night's Sorrow 10 Prof
  11. This is both a game and an intellectual exercise. This is for those of us who like speculative situations, well thought-through contingency plans, endeavoring to prevent the planet from being destroyed, and the occasional moral dilemma. Interested? Here's how I'm thinking this will work. One member will post a scenario. This scenario will hinge around a speculative element, either rooted in the realm of science fiction or from the realm of fantasy. The key is that the incident must be paranormal and potentially threatening towards society. Once the scenario has been established, other members will play the roles of the administrators of a global foundation dedicated to protecting the planet from the paranormal. They will accomplish this by... Investigating the scenario by asking the original poster questions; Determining what level of threat the scenario entails; And ultimately, by either taking action or allowing the situation to play out on its own. It will then be up to the person who devised the scenario to let the forum know whether their actions or lack thereof have saved or destroyed the world. Often nicknamed "The Worst That Could Happen Foundation" for their paranoia and detailed contingency plans, these administrators have access to military, scientific, and legal resources, with a global level of influence. With that said, their resources are not limitless, prohibiting them from nuking every paranormal event in sight or launching haunted objects into the sun. You can think of this either as a game or as an open forum for discussing hypothetical situations. I think this could be a lot of fun, simply as a way of flexing our creative and paranoid muscles. If there's any interest at all in this sort of game/mental exercise, I'll post an opening scenario for everyone to debate about. Once there's a group consensus about my straightforward situation (it'll probably be something simple that has to do with aliens), I'll pass the reins on to another member who wants to come up with a fiendishly world-threatening situation. Remember the key aspect of this game: you don't know everything about the scenario, and the worst thing that could happen probably will. So I'll reiterate... anyone interested?
  12. Common conversation started/ forum game: If you could go back to anytime in the past and ask one person one question what would it be. For an example I would probably go back and ask Nikola Tesla about supposed unlimited energy. or maybe I would go and ask Da vinci where he hid some of his journals, that's a good get rich quick scheme.
  13. I am getting the Mistborn Adventure Game, but right now I only have two other friends to play it with(I would probably narrate). Anyone in the Midwest/Tristate/Ohio/Cincinnati area who is interested in playing? If so, reply to this and I'll shoot you. (a PM)
  14. The stars of caution shone from the red belt of Paeus and the moons of the giant Qintarxes were aligned asymmetrically. It had not rained in three weeks and smoke drifted carelessly day and night from the distant shore to the East. The New Operatives had been gathering with the elders during all eight phases of the moon and the Revered Mother had requested that only the Waxing Born men would visit her that week. As a first born, Teon's understanding of these events was confused and frightened. But his sister Euthalia, third born and exalted chanter was a comfort to him as they walked naked in silence, collecting the buds from the Dark Flower of May and painting the sap onto their bodies and bald heads as they went. At the end of the night, they would be presented to the tribe as the night they were born. Side by side and marked with red, foretelling of the great stampede which would have destroyed the sacred font. The pair had been treated with due respect for their 168 moons and their presentation tonight would be what they had been told by their mother as a most honourable occasion, though no more information was shared. This unsettled Teon more that his limited ability to read the skies and his schooling through entrails divination combined. But Euthalia marched on, pausing every seventh step to pinch the earth and grind it into the sap bowl, seeming content and proud. Teon swallowed nervously and followed along, it may be the only night in the year that does not hold more than one birthnight celebration, he thought, but never has a 168th moon been surrounded in so much secrecy.
  15. So there have been many attempts to get information out of the Death Rattles. Something that became very clear is how, when the right event is found, they fit rather perfectly. So I thought: Hey I have never seen a topic for making up some for events that already happend, so lets make thread for that and have people guess which event is meant. My first contestant. From the corpse slain by a truth lie seven giants raise to devour the land.
  16. I am a bit disappointed in you. When I gave you my blessing to interfere in the affairs of the Seventeenth Shard, I did not expect you to stage a bloody Coup. Regardless, I hope you now have the manpower needed to stop Rayse. I have alerted the Shardholders, and I know at least 8 of them will be present to contain him, but that may just give him what he wants. You will have to be very careful in your pursuit of Vengeance this time. Trust no one. not even those who trust you. Rayse knows how to disguise himself, as do the rest of the shards. And remember, there's always another Secret. Investiture All of the roles are shards with two abilities. The Ability to invest in a normal worldhopper, and a Shardic Ability. The Shard must use their Invest Ability the same cycle they use their Shardic ability. Some Shards also have a passive ability. The Investiture Power is a role given to a Worldhopper. The shard targets a player, and that player has the power for one cycle. If a shard attempts to Invest in another Shard, they are told Exactly: “Your Target cannot receive Investiture.” Multiple Shards may Invest in the Same Worldhopper. That Player may choose to use one ability per Turn. A Shard may send a Message along with their Investment. This message will be anonymous. The Worldhopper cannot reply. If a Shard fails to invest two cycles in a row,or fails to post 3 turns in a row, the Shard will become a Fallen Shard, and Endowment gets to choose a new Shardholder. This shard is not shattered, and can still invest. Roles: PM's: There are two ways to use PM's. One is to be in one with Cultivation, or a follower of Cultivation. The other is to be on the same world as a player. In addition to any other night action a player may have, they may choose to go to a certain world. (The amount of Worlds is equal to 1/4 of the Original number of players, rounding up.) All players on that world will be put in a PM group for the duration of that cycle. Order of Actions: Day: Devotion's Worldhopper is announced Endowment makes a new Shard. Normal Votes Day Investments (Odium/Honour/Endowment/Ruin) Dominion Targets Ruin’s Kill Both Devotion abilities Dominions Vote Change Ruin’s Vote Cancel Lynch Night: Endowment makes a new Shard Night Investments (Dominion, Cultivation, Preservation, Devotion) Dominion targets. Lashings Ruin's kill Devotion targets Ruin's action cancel Odium/Champion kill Writeup: Shards attacked by Odium’s champions who survive will be indistinguishable from Players who survive due to Honour’s Lashings or from players invested with Preservation or are Preservation. The identity of the survivor is revealed. Only Devotion’s saves are singled out. Ruins kill will be different than Odium’s kill Victory Conditions: Odium and his Champions win if they Outnumber the Worldhoppers and Shards. The Worldhoppers and Shards win when they shatter Odium and slay his Champions. All writeups will be posted at 10:00pm PST. If you're having trouble with Timezones, I recommend looking at this Xkcd Comic. It shows the times around the world right now. The Day turn will be 48 hours long (2 days) The Night turn will be 24 hours long (1 Day). Wilson is the Neutral Moderator for this game. EDIT: For those of you who will ask for Clarifications, Go here. It's the Rules, but in much more detail. Cycles: Day 1 Night 1 Day 2 Night 2 Day 3 Night 3 Player List: As of Day 3 Quick Links:
  17. It's been well over a year since the last installment of the 3 Word Story franchise took the General Discussion forum by storm. Threads have come and gone, leaving our old friend buried behind pages and pages (or maybe just one page; I was too busy doing homework to count) of posts. But, my dear friends, the wait is over. It's time. I present to you: The rules are the same as always. Post 3 words that add onto the story. Pay attention to the Quick Reply box so you don't get ninja'd! For the sake of coherency, I suggest we make compilation posts every couple of pages so we can actually read the thing. And don't forget to make sure your out-of-story comments are distinguishable from your contribution! Ready, start! One time, when
  18. Hey, 17th Shard! It's been a while since I've actually logged in on here and done stuff (I've been lurking for a while, again), but I have something I think you guys will appreciate. I am working on a game based in the prologue of the Way of Kings (the Szeth part). You are Szeth. You have been instructed to kill King Gavilar on the night of his treaty with your masters, the Parshendi. You will wield Surgebindings and a Shardblade as you fight through the palace corridors to hunt down your prey. A friend and I have figured out how to program some of the Surgebinding powers already, we just need to work on refining them a bit. We also made it so that controls will switch depending on which wall/ceiling you're on, so that you can run around like normal while there (if you don't do this your controls will get really messed up when you go from the floor to the wall, or vice versa). I know how to code first person better, but I'm thinking I'm going to learn how to code a third person game, because it's a lot better for the gravity switching and other shenanigans that happen on screen. Anyways, here's some of the artwork I've been working on for the game! Some of this I've already started modelling. Firestorm (Gavilar's sword) is going to be flipped and copied in photoshop so that it's symmetrical, that's why I only drew half of it here. It's based off of the illustration in Words of Radiance of Shallan's drawings of the Kholin Shardblades. Jezrien's blade is based off of the cover art of Words of Radiance (I think it's straight in the book, but I can't find enough descriptions of it to make it look distinctive. Plus the cover art version just looks really cool. ). The other stuff is based off of a few descriptions in the books + my limited knowledge of medieval era weapons. I want a second opinion on one thing, though. Part of me feels like Alethi bows would be like composite bows, because of the amount of shell/horn material around and the relative scarcity of wood because of Highstorms. Another part of me, however, feels like because of the Alethi soulcasters supplying plenty of wood that they would just use bows similar to European longbows.
  19. So, we know from Firefight that your worst nightmare (or greatest fear) becomes your weakness. Heres the question: If you became an epic, would you be able to overcome your own personal weakness to rid yourself of the destructive effects of your epic powers? My answer: I do not think that I would be able to overcome my fear. I have a very rational fear of spiders. It is a rational fear because I have a reasoning for why I fear them. My reason was, when I was in the 5th grade, my grade went on a field trip to a summer camp for three days. While we were there, this guy kept chasing me holding spiders, which caused me to panic (he also attempted to put them on me and a girl in my cabin claimed to have put a spider in my bed. I never found out the validity of the latter). Ever since, I have been absolutely terrified of spiders. I have tried many times and numerous methods to get over my fear, and nothing has worked.
  20. Hello Everyone! This is an RP set in the World of Tamriel! if you would like to Join in, please Follow This Link to our Planning thread Sulen reigned in his horse outside of the Sanctuary. The Family wouldn't be expecting him back so soon. The Jarl of Riften was a well defended target after all, but then, no one ever expected bridges to collapse. He was quite proud of that one. He tied his horse, Nightmer, to one of the walls of the house that guarded the Black Door of the Skingrad Sanctuary. The house was less than a Mile away from the Western gate, but few knew of it. And it was Sulen's job to kill those who did know of it. He placed his hand on the Skull pattern of the Door, and waited. "What cure's all Disease?" "Only Death, my Brother." "Welcome Home" The door swung open, as it did everytime he gave the password. The Night Motherherself had enchanted these doors long ago. Only a brother of Sithis could enter, unless they willingly gave the password to another. He entered his long time home on Silent feet. Ormax was at his table, writing furiosly when Sulen opened his door. "Ah, Brother, your timing is most Serendipitous! How is Jarl Bjorn doing?" Sulen smiled and and pushed his hood back. "Well, he hasn't learned to swim yet, and I don't think he'll get an opprutunity to learn any time soon." "Well, I'm glad your back. We have a contract for you. Good pay, More Local than your last job." He pulled a ledger out of a pile of Papers, and slid it across the table to him. "I know you're just back from a long mission, but you're the only brother suited for this task." Sulen skimmed through the ledger. A Bandit Leader? "I thought Lefty was in charge of Bandit assasinations. You have me do Politicos usually." And the Chieftan appeared to be a Vampire. Great. "He's out on a contract, and if you read about the defenses, you'll realize just why we chose you." The defenses? Oh, Wow. Nothing that Duke and Velth couldn't handle though. "So this Contract isn;t for me, it's for my Friends?" They had done that before. "If you choose to do it that way. Your pay is enough for 5 or 6 people on this job. The Client is none other than the Count of Bravil after all." Sulen nodded, then dropped the Ledger on his desk. "Alright. I'll contact you through the Bravil Sanctuary was I'm there." He turned and left the room. But as he was closing the door, Ormax called out. "By the way, Jarl Torbald, of Riften? He's put out a contract on your head. You were seen Sulen. You're slipping." Sulen paused, then closed the door and left the Sanctuary. He'd head West, to Kavatch first. Pick up Velth, then Duke. After that, they'd compare notes and see if anyone else wanted to come along.
  21. The rules are simple. Hit the "random" button on any TV Tropes page, try to get to the Creator: Brandon Sanderson page in seven links or less, and post the path you took. No going to index pages. Separate example pages are not considered links. Example: Start: Infallible Narrator Exact Words (in the Sherlock Holmes example) The Stormlight Archive Brandon Sanderson
  22. Welcome to the umpteenth Hurt'n'Heal game on the 17th Shard! Rules are simple and anyone can play: On your turn: Hurt one person for two health points or hurt two people for one HP each. Always highlight whomever you're hurting in red. Heal one person for one HP. Highlight this person in green. You cannot hurt and heal the same person in one turn. You must hurt and heal on your turn; don't just do one or the other. Anyone who reaches 20 HP becomes immune and is highlighted purple. You cannot hurt this person until the second round, which starts when there is only one non-immune person on the board (that person's HP is automatically raised to 20 and kept on the roster). The second round's HP cap is 30, and no one can become immune when it starts. A brief description of the players for this round if you can't remember all of the worldbuilding that Brandon did. 23. I brought up this thread mainly because I have two ideas for spreading good reading (*ahem* Sanderson) among teens, have no real way of making them work myself, and was wondering if there were any similar ideas out there. The first is a Mistborn Minecraft mod (if either Minecraft or Mistborn makes you lose focus, skip the next 2 paragraphs; the next idea's more complete anyhow). Due to Minecraft's limited mechanics, controls would be difficult to program, and Rioting and Soothing features would probably be left out. However, the Mistborn world offers the potential for new bosses, temples, biomes, villages, items, blocks and mobs to appear besides simply making the character a Mistborn or Feruchemist. As far as I've deduced, mod gameplay would work in this way: Lerasium would be found in a rarely and randomly generated Well of Ascension/Kredrik Shaw temple with Inquisitor guards, and Atium would be found in an uber-rare Pits-of-Hathsin fissure/biome in geodes you'd have to dig by hand, and would hurt you when you did so. Other necessary ores would be randomly generated like normal. For realism purposes, a forge would have to be made (if there isn't already one) which you put in multiple ingots to get a desired alloy. All metals would then go into the crafting grid to be made into powder, which could then be put into potion vials for the Mistborn to use. Skaa hovels and plantations could be added, as could Skaa villagers, though I think just having Steel Ministry priest and Keeper/Feruchemist villagers in their own shops/houses would be more fun than seeing depressed Skaa around. Said villager priests could trade for Mistcloaks, obsidian axes, glass daggers, metal vials, and such, while the Keeper villagers would trade for books pertaining to other religions, the WOA legends, Metalminds, and such. Kandra and Mistwraiths might be an option to be made too, though I know not what purpose they might serve besides being passive mobs. Koloss would also be a wonderful addition, as would the occasional ashfall in appropriate areas. My second idea is a Rithmatist tablet/iPod/iPad game. This idea has been brought up before, but I thought it was worth bringing up again, especially since I think it would generate interest in the books it is based on, and I have a lot of details to add/create. As one would want the player to feel as much like a real Rithmatist as possible, gameplay would work like this: This would be a multi-player game at its core, with a single-player campaign option that echoes the original story available. The main menu would be comprised of three options: Duel, Workshop, and Gallery. The Workshop has two areas: Defense and Chalklings. The Defense Workshop would have many digital tools to work with, such as rulers, compasses, and protractors, while the Chalkling Workshop would be limited to freehand, and would record the player from start-to-finish in the creation of the chalkling. After being drawn, the option to designate bones/weapons on your new chalkling (essentially changing its animation) or leave it as a blob would be given. Chalkling images would then be posted to an online server where they would be rated up or down by users, each rating boosting or lowering that Chalkling's power a little. Duels would be conducted as follows: After a countdown, the player is shown a ghost-image of a previously-made defense. The player would be able to cycle through some default ones that are given as examples in the book as well as their own, and would be forced to either trace one of these defenses freehand, or make an impromptu defense on-the-spot (undoubtedly, there would have to be an option for both modes of play where there is no tracing allowed), then click out of the defense-maker (the game would decide on a complicated algorithm which I do not have the mathematical means to describe or comprehend whether or not it is a "good defense"; judging by the similarity to the traced drawing doesn't work for me). This would take them to the full battlefield, where they would be able to see, in real-time, the other players. There would be an clickable (we're talking about touchscreens, so would it be pokable?) option for making a chalkling on one corner of the screen, which the player would poke, then poke where they wanted the chalkling, then drag to connect it to a bind point. When they would let go, it would bring up a menu with all of THEIR chalklings on it. That chalkling would then be drawn like the player originally drew it on the field. Clicking/poking away from the chalkling would immediately start a drawing sequence to either add to their defense or draw a line of vigor (or the other one) and pause their chalkling drawing until they were done. Once the main circle is breached, its player loses. That player can then watch the remainder of the battle, or leave to join a new game. Any suggestions, new (unrelated or otherwise) Sandersonian video game ideas, points of clarification or commendation, etc. should be added to the thread! DISCLAIMER: If you have come up with any of these ideas, I apologize; just say so and the credit shall be yours. I came up with these ideas independently, but that is not to say that you did not come up with it as well or share it before me. DFTBA.
  24. All right! Pick one Order to Hurt for two points (or two to Hurt for one point each) and one Order to Heal for one point! Any Order that reaches 20 points will be immune until the second round. (I'll stay neutral for now...) Bondsmiths 10 Windrunners 10 Skybreakers 10 Dustbringers 10 Edgedancers 10 Truthwatchers 10 Lightweavers 10 Elsecallers 10 Willshapers 10 Stonewards 10
  25. This is a game where you say what you would do if you were a Mistborn/Misting/Feruchemist in real life! I would be a pewterarm and do awesome stuff with my strength like win races, run to places instead of driving, and type really fast!
