  1. If an Awakener made an Allomancer into a Lifeless would the Allomancer still retain his Allowmantic abilities? Because a normal Lifeless retains the skills they had in their life so shouldn't an Allomancer or even a Feruchemist retain their abilities?
  2. Alright, so I've seen a bunch of "Mistborn vs Knight Radiant" and Jedi vs Knight Radiant, and because I haven't the time nor patience to read through all of those, I'm going to pose a question that's likely already been answered. Let's say that a bunch of the "strongest" investiture users across the Cosmere had a a fight. I'm not counting any Yolen natives cause all the ones we know of we don't know a lot about their magic and a lot of them are OP. So: Here we go. Representing Scadrial, it's the Fullborn, from Roshar the 5th Ideal Knight Radiant (Pick the Order you think is the best in a fight), The God King from Nalthis, let's say an Elantrian as good as Raoden, a Sand Master who can control, let's say, 30 threads. I'm not gonna count shades cause most of these guys can outrun or kill a shade with relative ease, and First of the Sun doesn't have a lot of physically manifested Investiture besides the mind-reading guys, who aren't human and I feel they can also be killed with relative ease, so we'll just go with the above. God-King, Fullborn, 5th Ideal Radiant of any Order, Sand Master with 30 Threads and Salitrification, Elantrian. And they're fighting in a place where Elantrian magic is strong and the Sand Master has enough Taldain Sand for years. Edit: Nightmaws and Deepstalkers as well as Shades are included
  3. Of all the Cosmere's known magic users, I'm not really sure that anyone can compare to the fullborn (mistborn + full feruchemist) in terms of raw power. They can: 1. Get a nearly infinite supply of any feruchemical attribute that they want as long as they have the metals available, then tap them at pretty much any speed that they want. 2. Reverse compound somehow (probably feruchemical nicrocil at work here, but it has yet to be confirmed) to increase their allomantic powers to a ridiculous amount, pretty much as much as they want, similar to their feruchemical counterparts. 3. There isn't really a maximum limit to the amount of investiture that they can store, except maybe the amount of metalminds that they can carry, which is still a lot. It doesn't seem like fullborn have the traditional limitations that you'd expect to see on other metalborn, surgbinders, awakeners, or any other magic users really. How powerful are they, really, and what would it take to bring down a competent fullborn? (Mcguffins such as shards of Adonalsium or Dawn shards don't count, I'm referring to "normal" magic users)
  4. Well, it been a while since I have made another topic. Let's see how long I can keep this up as a weekly thing. So, during the week, I was on a thread talking about certain mechanics of Feruchemy regarding Tin (*Cough* @Koloss17 *Cough* Tin Theology *Cough Cough*) and it brought up how by storing most of your senses, you can make yourself numb to pain, and this got me thinking, what advantages come, rather from tapping your metalminds, from storing in them instead? there are the basic ones, of making yourself light so your faster and the numbing pain I mentioned, but I think there are other benefits we may be missing or haven't thought of, so I made this thread. What kinds of benefits can you think of?
  5. I just finished the Bands of Mourning and one question that keeps bothering me is the role of Feruchemy in South Scadrial. From my understanding only the Terris people had Feruchemy. So unless Kelsier brought Terrismen with him to breed with the locals, the only way for the people of SoScadrial to create open Metalminds would be Hemalugical Spikes. However, over the course of 300 years the Spikes would wear their charges out even transitioning from person to person. Thoughts or solutions? This is really bugging me!!! Also, this is my first post so if this is in the wrong thread let me know.
  6. Okay, so we know that Ferrings come from the mixing of allomancy genes and feruchemist genes, which result in the possibility of a single feruchemical power instead of the full set, just like you can the full allomantic suite, or just one power. What I don't know is the full effects of that mixing--if someone was a full mistborn, by inheritance and not Lerasium, and they also inherited feruchemical genes, would they necessarily be fullborn, because they didn't have the gene set for one allomantic ability to affect the feruchemical inheritance, or would it possible for someone just to be a mistborn and a gold feruchemist, for instance? Or vice versa--could someone be a full feruchemist and a misting, or would their being a misting prevent them from being a full feruchemist and they would just end up twinborn? I presume if someone was just a ferring, or just a twinborn, and then consumed Lersasium, they would become mistborn, and would keep their one feruchemical ability, but wouldn't become fullborn, but maybe they would? And/or maybe the one allomantic ability they already had would be supercharged like vin with bronze, albeit in a different way?
  7. So how much would a small metalmind, say a ring or an earring, actually be able to store? Sazed's rings in WoA which he prepares for the Battle of Luthadel had about ten minutes of charge in each, but it is implied that the reason for this is because he only had a short time to fill them. So presumably, they could have stored more. Since they are small I wouldn't imagine that they could store very much, but maybe an hour or so of charge could fit in something like a ring. An earring maybe less, more like half an hour perhaps? If anyone actually knows I would appreciate your input, either way I welcome discussion.
  8. The easiest way to become a fullborn according to my knowledge. Correct me if there are any inaccuracies. From my knowledge a Full Feruchemist is able to: Store Weight in Iron Store Speed in Steel Store Strength in Pewter Store Senses in Tin Store Mental Speed in Zinc Store Warmth in Brass Store Memories in Copper Store Wakefullness in Bronze Store Breath in Cadmium Store Energy (Food) in Bendalloy Store Health in Gold Store Determination in Electrum Store Identity in Aluminum Store Connection in Duralumin Store Fortune in Chromium Store Investiture in Nicrosil An Allomancer is able to: Steelpush Ironpull Pewter Enhanced Physical Abilities Tin Enhanced Senses Zinc Riot Emotions Brass Soothed Emotions Copper Hidden Allomantic Pulses and Resistance to Emotional Allomancy. Bronze Heard Allomantic Pulses Gold past shadows. Electrum Possible Future Choices Cadmium Slow Time Bubble Bendalloy Speed Time Bubble Duralumin Enhanced Current Metal Burned Aluminum Wiped Allomantic Reserves Nicrosil Enhanced Allomantic Burn of Target Chromium Wiped Allomantic Reserves of Target Given that, I have come up with a way that both a mistborn and a full feruchemist could become basically fullborn. Taking into account that when a metalmind is burned, instead of getting the Allomantic power of the metal, you get the feruchemical storage multiplied by roughly ten (Probably depends on your allomantic strength. If a full feruchemist were to make unkeyed metalmind beads, by storing Identity and the other attribute, and then give them to a mistborn, they could then burn the metalminds. Then they have about ten times the attributes. Sixteen of which are the feruchemical abilities to store these attributes as well as the Nicrosil ability to store Investiture. The mistborn then stores all of these abilities into respective beads. They then use the nicrosil ability to store Investiture to store their abilities to use allomancy. They then give the beads to the feruchemist and they duplicate all of them. They then split the metalminds and indefinitely compound them. Boom. Two fullborn.
  9. I've been playing around with ideas as to how to overcome atium, and I've thought that perhaps a feruchemist tapping steel would be able to exploit the fact that atium still relies on your reactions. An allomancer burning atium would see your atium shadow, but if a feruchemist were tapping enough steel then perhaps they would be able to move too fast for even the enhanced mind that atium provides to comprehend. I got this idea when I was reading Sazed's fight with Marsh. There was a point where he was moving too fast for Marsh to react, so perhaps if he were to use that same technique, but tapping more steel, on someone burning atium then perhaps it would work. I welcome your thoughts.
  10. Would a feruchemist (either a soulbearer or full feruchemist) who had ended up in Roshar and bonded a spren to become a radiant, then be able to store stormlight into a nicrosilmind? That is, would they be able to store stormlight in a nicrosilmind and use that rather than carry spheres or gemstones around with them everywhere they went? Is a nicrosil mind capable of doing this or would it simply store the ability to use stormlight, not the stormlight itself?
  11. Would there be any negative effects to a feruchemist having their metalminds inside their body for certain metals? This includes earings and piercings. Gold metalminds would have little issue as gold is largely inert (partly why it is popular in jewelry), however, having any other metal, especially copper, in your body would likely not be comfortable and become infected, whether it is in the form of an earing, or somehow an implant like The Lord Rulers bands of mourning or (temporarily) the rings in Sazed's abdomen. Does their nature as a metalmind remove the risk of infection or expulsion from the body? If not then why aren't feruchemists going around with infected piercings? An oversight by Brandon perhaps?
  12. So I've been thinking about whether it'd be possible to create a full feruchemist using lerasium? Since alloying lerasium with a metalmind makes a feruchemist of that metal, could you alloy lerasium with a metalmind that would form a full feruchemist? Perhaps nicrosil? Since nicrosil stores investiture, if a full feruchemist were to store their investiture inside a nicrosilmind and then alloy that with lerasium and a regular person were to burn it, would they become a full feruchemist? If I've made any terrible mistakes due to a lack of understanding of lerasium or nicrosil, feel free to correct me.
  13. The other day, I was thinking about how cool it would be if Coinshots and Lurchers were Feruchemists. Then I started thinking about the final details... Rough draft done by my sister via pencil, final draft done by me with MediBang and a Wacom Intuous Tablet.
  14. Pushed from this @Oversleep 's question. I began to try to find an explaination that in the end made me ask direcly to Mister Sanderson. This is the answer I get about the matter I hope he would reply to the last one, but in the end we discovered something quite juicy. A perks is something developed by small sections though Interactions. Greater Powerhouse in the Cosmere leave no space for this natural interactions. We may use this fact to remove all the strange feats of Mistborn, Feruchemist or Fullborn by the effect of a weird Perk
  15. I was going through the wiki and reading about feruchemy where I found this: "Duralumin is used to store Spiritual connection." I know the Ars Arcanum specifies that Duralumin helps with frienships but what if Hoid uses it to "connect" to the spiritual realm on each planet and tweak his Spiritweb so he can access the magic systems? Thoughts?
  16. I don't have any solid proof for this theory. I don't even have much reason. The only bit I have is this: Hoid has an insane memory. Yes, it could be due to the fact that he's a story teller. But still… his memory makes it possible. Of course, Hoid also may have possible ways of tapping into the power of any of the Shards, which may be even more likely. Maybe we'll find out in the Dragonsteel series.
