So I have recently reread the reckoners series, and something I can't seem to figure out is why Dawnslight wasn't evil. So we know that before calamity was defeated epics were evil because they drew upon his darkness, and to combat this you had to save someone despite your fear/weakness. I'm sure we're supposed to assume that Dawnslight faced his fear off screen or something like that, but I'm unsure how or when that was even supposed to happen. From what I can gather, Dawnslight was good from day one and he has no visible weakness. The only other character this happens with is Languish, but even Languish has a period of unaccounted time in-between the start of his epichood and his service of Lifeforce. Again I'm sure this is supposed to be some sort of mystery, but if we know when or how Dawnslight defeated the darkness I would like to know.

What is the most useless epic power you can think of? Here are a few: 1. burping in Russian 2. lighting matches on polyester 3. turning bellybutton from an innie to an outie, and back again.

During Calamity, we learn the titular antagonist has "gifted" Epic powers to people instead of "investing" (non-Cosmere, but still works.) them with abilities. I believe this distinction was the preventive factor in the children of Epics NOT inheriting power; considering Motivators work on genetic mimicry and offspring would share similar DNA strands to parents. This limitation has likely been removed when Calamity went the way of Evocation. Which bares the question: How will Epic powers be inherited? Will the kid get the same power as their powered parent with a personal touch like Tavi? Will children of 2 Epics (David and Megan) get both powersets, or will there be "Interference" like with Epics and certain Motivators? Or will a child's non-powered heritage cause "Interference" granting a very different ability from their Epic parent?

This is meant to be like the "If You Were A Epic" thread. In this thread you can post any ideas for weird epic powers. Here are mine: Whale summoning. Probability switching (1/100,000,000 chance that a bullet will turn into a puppy, after power is used: 999,999,999/100,000,000 chance that bullet will turn into a puppy.) Broccoli manipulation. Fred manipulation (you can control people named Fred.) Weight gaze (the longer you stare at something the heavier it gets.) Post your ideas!

I'm not sure if anyone else has been wondering this, but I have been curious since reading Steelheart. If David was made into an epic, what powers and or weakness would he have? I suspect that both your powers and weakness are tied to your past in some way, so the closest I've been able to guess is that he would be able to fly, (from using the spyrail,) enhanced physical abilites, (His marksmanship and in general strong physique,) and possibly enhanced brain ability? His weakness would either be being called a nerd or killing an epic. (from the beginning scene in Firefight.) This isn't supposed to be a serious topic, just something kinda fun for people to post what they think his powers would be. And please try to keep from spoiling anything for those that haven't read Firefight yet.
