  1. I was suggesting that in much the same way a Shardblade could become a spear in the book it could also turn into a soulcaster. I am suggesting that soulcasters are essentially shardblades in another form.
  2. So there was a half chapter on Soulcasting and it seemed to hint at a lot of mysteries So at the very least Soulcasters have the same effect as Shardblades too. Shallans shardblade will probably be able to turn into a soulcaster once she makes higher levels. Is there any chance that some of these people (or all of them) are radiants in disguise? At the very least they are probably soul bonded to the fabrials. Is this simply because a gas is being condensed into a solid or am I missing something? So a separate group inside the larger church perhaps? So are Ardent soul casters different because of exposure to soulcasters or were they already different and the soulcaster exposure just increased the effects. Any chance that they are related to one of the many secret factions going around?
  3. I personally think that plate is made from the Voidbringer corpses somehow. We know that Parshendi could create their own set of body armor and with voidbringers around you gonna see a whole range of new forms. The reason they don't scream is because they are not made from Spren at all.
  4. This is actually veering into smut. I'm so proud.
  5. So what did we learn during the Rysn interlude? Axies the Collector is there and is getting tortured. There are greatshell's that are really really big. If the Greatshell=potential voidbringer theory holds true then that would be very very bad. Grass is still boring. The Greatshells attract people who are bold (and naked and violent). Is it the culture or the Greatshells themselves? Just descriptive writing or is this important? Also she gets something called a Larkin by the Island So Aimans is the race Axies belongs to. Are they mentioned anywhere else? Is Axies connected to the greatshells somehow? Is he just here on the island for spren or because something related to his race exists on the island. Why is the creature important enough to get a chapter about it?
  6. Considering radiants seems to be partially blood related it's possible her father was at some point a partial radiant. Perhaps the way he destroyed the family was partially magical. Have we got any hints that any of the orders can mess with peoples minds? Truthwatcher's perhaps?
  7. I think it's important to note that every radiant had a very different moral code and there have been hints that many didn't get along. (At the very least the spren don't) What to Kaladin would have been despicable to Jasnah is philosophy in action. Her spren helped her commit numerous murders and did not leave her. Pattern seems to appreciate the ability to lie and deceive as the most important traits a Lightweaver can have. Adolin could easily be part of an order that believes in a moral code that believes what he did was absolutely right.
  8. Perhaps that's why radiant end up killing their spren. A spren can be fixed in place in place by being measured. Does bonding with someone also fix the spren in their last position when they die? Perhaps normally for deaths fellow radiants would recover the shards and release them. It's also why radiants will inherently kill their spren. They will die and so will the spren they are bonded too. Another Radiant can revive the spren but you may not be able to it yourself. It's possible that full radiants cannot release the bond to their spren ever.
  9. You might want to split up that sentence or the forums might have a heart attack.
  10. That assumes that there will be 4 radiants. What happens when there are hundreds of radiants who can consume an armies worth of stormlight (from relatively rich soldiers too) from one portal jump.
  11. So very soon in the Stormlight world people with superpowers are going to essentially start hoarding money so they can have access to it's stormlight. This means that very soon the currency itself will be worth far more than what it buys. There is a very real world problem in reality where copper based coins can have copper worth more than the actual value denomination of the coin. So people gather the coins on mass and melt them down and sell them at a profit. Now imagine if all your currency is coins and all of it is worth 100 times more. What happens when every single unit of your currency is worth more than it's stated value? So that diamond chip that used to buy you say a loaf of bread (I suddenly can't remember anyone eating bread, do they have flour?) now has the equivalent of 100 loafs of bread in value. What happens when your smallest denomination now is worth more than a weeks worth of shopping? What do you do when the main thing you want to trade with your currency is the currency itself? Do you make a new currency or does the price rise across the board even it out? Do the rich suddenly become much much richer and the poor unable to buy basic necessities?
