  1. I have come to believe that Adonalism was somehow convinced to kill himself. We know that the Dawnshards we used to unto/kill Adonalism and we also know that the use of the Dawnshards in such a way would require "the breath of understanding of a diety" Certain things are strongly implied: The larger in scope the deed you try to do with a Dawnshard the greater the breath of understanding needed the bring the proper intent. The undoing of Adonalism required all four Dawnshards. I also believe that while the Dawnshards were held by Adonalism there were together as a part of him. He would have been the only one powerful even to use it. While he held it, it was one thing which we can call the Dawn Adonalism was put in a situation where he had to use the Dawn (combined dawnshards) to pull the dawnshards apart Doing so killed Adonalism splitting his power and expending the power of the dawn
  2. I for one kinda like this theory, The arguments that they haven't mentioned wanting a baby, or having a baby preventing them from going on dangerous mission falls flat for me. The does not sound like how rosharan nobles think. and those two where brought up to be lighteye nobles. They would see it as a duty to produce an heir ASAP, but i don't see any evidence that these two would be loving attentive parents Maybe more Adolin though he certainly did not learn that from his Father, We have no clue what her interpretation of motherhood would be I'm thinking, she had no problem with a political marriage and found a way to be a scholar, spy and warrior at the same time. So i don't see Shallan as the stay at home mom. as soon as he body allows she would find a way to be a scholar, spy and warrior. There would be a wetnurse at home taking care of that babe. My biggest problem with the theory is that it would be this BIG thing and i don't she how it could be used in the Story. He is too young to be a character and would only serve as a distraction.
  3. My reading of it left me with the impression that there are nine types / orders of fused. Mirroring the 10 orders of Radiants. The fact that one of them was not mirrored implies that that order of Radiant is somehow special My guess is that there is no type of fused similar to the Bondsmith. We already know bondsmiths are special and rare. Bondsmiths surges are also not suited to direct combat so its unlikely that any of the 7 Kaladin fought before mirrored the bondsmith
  4. It would be interesting to know, at the height of the age of Radiants, how common it was for a Spren to bond a human. Is it 1 in 100 humans, 1 in a 1,000 or 1 in 100,000
  5. Loved the chapters It was a gentle reminder of why Brandon is my favorite author First impressions are that Kaladin still has a far way to go, Shallan is still crazy; but functionally crazy. She is also reckless and needs to learn how be a team player (with other actual people) Mental health continues to be a big thing in Stormlight, Of the main cast Dalinar is the only one who is stable and accepting of who he is. I'm excited to see the rest of this arms race, I want to know if Shallan has been working on the task the ghostbloods give her, and what event is going to break Kaladin even more than he already is.
  6. I'm so hyped Everyone had clues of the plot of the Rysn Novella, and Wandersail was a good title. But Dawnshards! Brings anticipation to a different level and tells anyone who hasn't been paying attention what to expect. Cant wait!!! right now i feel like i want to write this novella.
  7. The list is not complete, just what I could remember. I read the reckoners but I really don't remember much of those books I have been reading the skyward series and I like it. at one point I tried to read all of Brandon's works. I sought them out. I think I found and read all of them. except for the evil Librarian series.
  8. That would be The Way of Kings Sanderson managed to combine all my favorite fantasy elements and gave me the book I didn't know I needed. A detailed well-imagined world with no resemblance to my own. (I love the escapism) Intelligent and likable heroes, Villians with depth and menace Most of the Magic is Rock Hard. So I'm there with the hero, I know his tools and we can figure stuff out together. Where there is soft magic it is peripheral to the story and just adds wonder. I have a thing for swords and armor and I like the troupe of "the special blade". I have a thing for properly longer epic stories. You just can't tell a proper tale in 500 pages I love strong female characters and female warriors I love the fairy companion troupe. it's cute and endearing.
  9. I'm conflicted about Lightbringer, There is a lot to love in those books. and I loved the magic system. but I just did not enjoy reading then that much. A more recent example is the Poppy War and The Dragon Republic (which I did not finish). These books were just too dark for me.
  10. I would not recommend every book in that list, I pushed through The Sword of Truth Series by Goodkind, It was not worth it, Not recommended
  11. My taste leans toward rock hard magic systems. Off the top of my head Winner Channelling from the Wheel of Time Honourable mention Chromaturgy from Lightbringer Allomancy, Feruchemy, Hemalurgy from Mistborn Wards from The Demon Cycle Brandon Sanderson is now the king of magic systems. In Stormlight, I think he's almost showing off. I would consider each order of Radiants a different magic system. all of them are very distinct and very good.
  12. I made the list in excel about 6 years ago. fond the file last year and updated it. Now I'm glad I did it.
  13. I liked it, I didn't love it. I can see its worth and ill be reading the rest. but it's not exactly to my taste
  14. Good Day My name is Daniean and I live in Jamaica. I've read on the forum for years but I've never posted, I think it about time I stepped out of the shadows. Like many, I got introduced to Brandon Sanderson about ten years ago when I heard he was finishing The Wheel of Time. I took up Mistborn and read it and it was immediately my favorite book since The Great Hunt. I absolutely loved it. After that, I tried to get my hands on anything Sanderson wrote. When I heard he was planning an opus long series I was the happiest person on Jamrock. So far it has felt like Brandon interviewed me then wrote Stormlight to be the perfect book series for my taste. No interview does not cut it. the man must have read my mind because the stormlight Archive scratches itches that I didn't even know i have. Any way you can get a sent a sense of my taste by the books I've read. 1 The Lord of the Rings The Hobbit 2 by J.R.R. Tolkien The Fellowship of the Ring 3 The Two Towers 4 The Return of the King 5 Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone 6 by J.K. Rowling and the Chamber of Secrets 7 and the Prisoner of Azkaban 8 and the Goblet of Fire 9 and the Order of the Phoenix 10 and the Half-Blood Prince 11 and the Deathly Hollows 12 The Wheel of Time New Spring 13 by Robert Jordan The Eye of the World 14 The Great Hunt 15 The Dragon Reborn 16 The Shadow Rising 17 The Fires of Heaven 18 The Lord of Chaos 19 A Crown of Swords 20 The Path of Daggers 21 Winters Heart 22 Crossroads of Twilight 23 Knife of Dreams 24 and Brandon Sanderson The Gathering Storm 25 Towers of Midnight 26 A Memory of Light 27 Mistborn The Final Empire 28 by Brandon Sanderson The Well of Ascension 29 The Hero of Ages 30 The Allow of Law 31 The Stormlight Archive The Way of Kings 32 Words of Radiance 33 Oathbringer 34 by Brandon Sanderson Elantris 35 by Brandon Sanderson Warbreaker 36 by Brandon Sanderson The Rithmatist 37 Dune Dune 38 by Frank Herbert Dune Messiah 39 Children of Dune 40 God Emperor of Dune 41 A Song of Fire and Ice A Game of Thrones 42 by George R.R.
