I have only seen the Moore reboot version which I really liked overall. I do find that it teetered off a bit at the end. After watching Battlestar Galactica I did not move on to watching Caprica but instead watched Firefly for the first time.

I don't think I saw a mention of the Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan. It is always high up there on the list of epic fantasy books. I have only read the prequel and books one and two, so I've barely scraped the surface of the whopping 14 book series (I got sidetracked by Wise Man's Fear and a few other books), but so far I really enjoy the world building.

Hi everyone, For those of you who draw, what is your preferred Digitizer Tablet? I have looked on the DeviantArt forum and a few other places, and many people seem to swear by the Wacoms. I myself have just bought a Huion H610. Clearly, there are many artists on this forum and I am just curious to see what other people use.

Oh, I love Spook too! He stands at the top of my list along with Kelsier and Tensoon. I thought Tensoon's storyline was so interesting. He is different from his people, kind of how Sazed was different too. They didn't conform and made hard choices. Kelsier is awesomeness embodied and the king of tough choices. And who doesn't love Spook's street slang (or high imperial, haha). It is magic how so many of the characters were fully developed and well developed too.

I have watched a few Studio Ghibli movies: My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, and The Secret World of Arrietty. I had watched them when I was younger, and some of them again when I was in college. I just watched Howl's Moving Castle the other day for the first time, and I thought it was a wonderful story and my new absolute favorite. I plan on watching Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (directed by Hayao Miyazaki) and I also heard that Studio Ghibli produced a Tales of the Earthsea movie too (based on Ursula Le Guin's novels). I really loved the characters in Howl's Moving Castle (I watched the dubbed version). They made me laugh and smile constantly throughout. I also thought the animation was beautiful and so detailed. The plot was great and the ending even better. It didn't occur to me until I watched Howl's Moving Castle but Studio Ghibli movies always seems to have strong female main characters, which is difficult to do right a lot of the time. Studio Ghibli managed to do it well time and time again. Anyone else love Studio Ghibli Movies? Anyone else love Howl's Moving Castle? What are some of your favorites?

I am currently reading The Wise Man's Fear, which is awesome! Next up: 1) A Conspiracy of Kings by Megan Whalen Turner (Attolia Series) 2) Dark Currents by Lindsay Buroker (Emperor's Edge Series) I really enjoyed the first three books in the Attolia Series and I would wholly recommend it. Dark Currents is only the second book in the Emperor's Edge Series, but I really like the story so far.

I've been playing Path of Exile for about 3 months now. There must be a lot of other Sanderson fans playing too, because all the good names are taken.

I read the first book and enjoyed it but lost interest after reading the second book. I am torn between reading the final book in the trilogy as closure would be nice, but i'm afraid of bad endings or stories that lose their steam and luster like the Twilight Series or Catching Fire. I do want to watch the movie though.

I really like the Szeth tee in the Sanderson store and I agree that T-shirts with the glyph and oath would be a great addition. I would also like to see t-shirts or posters with the allomatic metal table, and with the surgebinding diagram. And well done to that super fan. That sword is absolutely amazing!

I started with the LOTR trilogy. I had younger siblings so I got into the Bartimaeous Trilogy, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Children of the Red King. I wasn't really into reading all that much back then, I mean I enjoyed it, but I could go for long periods of time without reading for fun (high school and college were intense). After I read the Way of Kings, I found myself putting down one book and looking forward to the next. I have a long queue of books to get through and I'm enjoying every second of it. So I guess my true introduction to fantasy is through Brandon Sanderson books.

I just finished reading Poison Study by Maria Snyder and The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, both of which I really enjoyed. I wanted to get my hands on the Golden Compass Movie but I heard that it was pretty bad. Poison Study was really great. It is about a girl who becomes the food taster for a King. I cannot wait to start reading Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss and to read several more books in Attolia series by Megan Whalen Turner.

I enjoyed Attack on Titan. I didn't think I would since it was so gruesome and graphic, but I think I liked it so much because it was different. It was dark and not drawn so prettily (like Lain) which was a nice change.

My favorite anime series of all time is Rurouni Kenshin. It was the second anime series I had ever watched (the first being Flame of Recca). It was back in my high school days and I remember watching it on VHS and thinking it was epic. I have yet to watch it a second time, but I plan on doing that sometime in the near future. My other favorites are: Full Metal Alchemist Trigun (Vash the Stampede!) Naruto (would be amazing without all the fillers and sometimes it drags on and on...) Bleach (again would be great without all the fillers) Death Note Attack on Titan Gundam 00 I hear that Code Geass: LeLouch of the Rebellion is really good. I plan on watching that next.

Wow. This is a great story thus far. I was worried it would be another typical witch story, but that is not the case at all. I really like the way you introduced the magical elements and the intrigue. Already we get great insight into the characters and a sense of the world they live in. Nice job!

At first, I thought that Kelsier would win hands down, but now I think Dalinar might actually win. I agree, any advantage Kelsier has with increased strength and stamina, Dalinar would match with Shardplate or Stormlight. So one does not have an insurmountable advantage over the other (in a no atium fight that is). Kelsier can fight from a distance, being evasive, perceptive, pelting Dalinar with coins, etc,, but he can't win a fight from a distance. Dalinar's Shardplate could take the onslaught, and Stormlight could heal it easily as well. I think Kelsier would have to come close for a win. No matter how crafty Kelsier is (and he is a crafty one), in a face to face, punch for punch, sword against sword, type of fight, I think Dalinar would have the edge.

It was tough to choose between the Way of Kings and Words of Radiance. They are both so great! I gave it to the Way of Kings because it really opened up my eyes and imagination to the epic-ness that books can be. It really set the bar for all fantasy books thereafter. And Words of Radiance certainly lived up to it.

I would start my friend on the Way of Kings, might as well start off the friend with your favorite book. It is long, but I thought it was an amazing read, by far the best developed storyline/world I've ever read. If the book is good and you can't put it down, I don't think the length matters too much. After they've read the Words of Radiance too and are itching for more Sanderson, I would suggest Mistborn and the Rithmatist. Those are my 2 favorite worlds after Stormlight Archive. Rithmatist is a nice change of pace, interesting but not overwhelming. Mistborn would be satisfying because the trilogy is completed (not counting the other trilogy with Alloy of Law). It's always nice to have some closure.

I first got hooked to the Stormlight Archive because of the magic aspect. Szeth's fight with Gavilar was really intriguing, opening up the world of Surgebinding, lashing, shardblades and shardplates, etc. But, I love the stormlight archive because of the character development. The main characters were very well developed and fleshed out. Each was multi-dimensional and the storytelling had no wasted moments. It was well paced, revealing a little more about the characters while also leaving some mystery to them as well. They had depth and I especially liked the character development of Shallan and Kaladin, where we were able to see their perspectives in both the past and the present. Those characters were especially complex. The interludes were also nice because they gave a lot of additional insight into the storyline. The whole world that was developed in stormlight archive is amazing. The hierarchy of lighteyes and darkeyes, different cultures, different kingdoms, different customs, different realms, all really make the world come to life and pull you into it, maybe even be a part of it. The plot twists and turns are really the clincher. The writing is amazing! And I agree that the themes of good, hope and honor driving humanity make it all the more enjoyable, wishful and epic feeling.

Parshmen were the Voidbringers? Say what??? Mind Blown!
