I just think that if they post a chapter or two a week on their blog up until release day, they will hook many people more that maybe weren't going to buy the book in the first place. Basically imitating the web serials that are everywhere nowaday. Many indie writers are enjoying great sucess with this formula, so big publishers may be trying to get into the bandwagon. Jasnah binding her Transportation surge to Ivory, the same way thay Shallan binds her Illusions to Pattern to move them around. It's so internally consistent that I'd almost br mad it doesn't end up being the case. Poetically simmetrical, I'd say.

What if the reason why Ivory the shardblade appears to be shimmery with an almost immaterial appearance in the center is because at whatever Elsecaller level Jasnah is by then the sprenblade can turn into a portal of sorts to shadesmar? So she can Elsecall multiple people at the same time, or even better, bring something over. In my opinion that would fit with what we've seen so far of surgebinding power progression.
