  1. I've really gotten back into comics as of late, namely a book called Saga by Brian K. Vaughan. It's a sci fi/fantasy tale following the trials and tribulations of lovers from opposing warring races trying to protect their newborn from the clutches from all who despise their union. The plot may seem generic starcrossed fodder, but the execution is far from that with nuanced character work and sharp as a ginsu dialogue the book is awesome! As for the art: It's fricking gorgeous, nothing but clean line work and great storyboarding (seriously I've made a few t-shirts out of the covers here already, that's how awesome Fiona Staples' work is). Seriously if you're into fantasy and want a decent dose of it in comic book form you can't go wrong with Saga.
  2. Transistor: I really love how flexible the combat mechanic is, it's brilliant soundtrack doesn't hurt either.
  3. I get the feeling that either the Ghostbloods will tell her or that she'll figure it out on her lonesome, either way the revelation will probably spur her on to buy into the Ghostbloods for real.
  4. Witcher 3: I'm a big fan of the Witcher series (I've even read the books) with Witcher 2 being one of my top 3 rpg's of all time. The new open world which promises over 100 hours of content has me salivating over what activities this sandbox will be packed with. I'm also interested to see whether choice will still have as heavy an impact as it did in Witcher 2. Plus the trailer is awesome: God I love the art direction of this game (the monster designs are phenomenal), so much so that I made myself a giant chull poster (920x1290 mm) here on something called a printing sheet. Got the idea from a friend who's got a massive poster of Tom Hardy's Bane from the DKR movie in his hallway. Here's the image I'm using:
  5. I'm really enjoying Space Dandy, it's the new show from my all time fav anime director Shinchiro Watanabe (of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo fame). It's a fun little show about the misadventures of an 'alien hunter' ( a person who hunts aliens and not an alien who hunts) and his crew. It's taking a while to find its feet but all the episodes are at the very least fun.
  6. I've really gotten into eastern european folk music as of late with Irfan becoming the focus of my fascination:
  7. It's a tie for me between Szeth and Kaladin. The former's inner turmoil is so compelling to read and the mystery that surrounds his mission and past makes his POV endlessly rereadable. As for Kaladin; though he maybe a bit whiny at times the gradual progression of how he turned the bridge runners into a band of brothers was one of the most satisfying aspects of WoK.
  8. ^Lol, I didn't think of that, my username is kind of a dark joke regarding Tien. He was one of my fav supporting characters in WoK and I always felt kinda bemused about how sucky his life was.
  9. I've been a longtime admirer of Sanderson's work since he took over writing duties on the Wheel of Time. I've just completed my 2nd read through of the Way of Kings, in anticipation for WOR, and needed a place to discuss the awesomeness that is the Stormlight Archive.
