  1. Just finished it (ebook version) Got only two hours of sleep, then ten hours of work... Result; Brandon just melted my brain Loved it, loved the progression of the characters, all of them, because they are human, they have flaws, they stumble, fail and suffer and I suffer with them. Officialy shippin' Syl&Kaladin here. Will make a slower reading when my hardcovers reach me...
  2. Can you tell me why in the Apple bookstore WoR is said to have 592 pages? Does this have to do with the format?
  3. Kaladin glows (and he's a hunk!) Women love that
  4. Now it's just a matter of time before someone use Kal's slave brands and Bridge 4 own tattoos as such in real life I wonder what Sanderson would think if that just happened...
  5. Thank god for the e-book release, my copy from amazon reaches me between the 6th and the 10th. I'm going nuts here!
  6. Perhaps talking about a passage from the Way of Kings? Even if this is from WoR they may still talk about the WoK, no?
  7. damnation! Personaly I think that this glimpse is misleading for two reasons: First: as we know that somebody is going to die our first reaction with a glimpse like this is that one the Kholin brothers is toast. This is what the people at Tor want; to us to panic, to speculate, to get scared about our characters, to get progresively more nuts about it all! Basterds! Second; the most obvious part takes our attention away from the important part: The "fracturing" sky. THAT can't be good, more if this isn't a vision but an actual event. Wild guess: The reaction in Shadesmar of Odium's arrival on Roshar, reflected in the physical world. Major bad mojo in the world, everybody down or on their knees, like when Dalinar witnessed the Recreance.
  8. Ummm, well I wouldn't be so sure about the laws of phsyics as Sylphrenia was quite dismissive of them. Err... they can't affect some elements in nature? Dunno, maybe the only limitations they really have to deal with are within the nature of their Shard. As you quite rightly said Preservation couldn't destroy only preserve... But then what would be Odium's limitation? What is the limitation of Hate? And how does the fact that the Oathpact was shattered impact on what Odium can and can't do? Why would he submit to something like that when he had already killed Tanavast? Furthermore Tanavast said that they could force Odium in picking a champion. How can they force a, for the lack of another therm, god to do something like that? And how can that help them? Personaly I think that there are unknown rules and the someone - still unknown- enforces them, but at the same time can't opose directly those that hold the major Shards. damnation, I hate not knowing!
  9. Maybe "fair" is not the right word here... "Limited" shouldn't be better in this case? Maybe this has to do with what Tanavast told Dalinar, referencing a set of rules: Moogle, is there any WoB reffering to the rules that the holders of greater shards have to follow? And who enforces those rules? Any idea?
  10. Ah, but we don't know, do we? Those descriptions don't state how they came to be. Who says that they can't fuse with stone, awaiting for their enemies to appear before rising and crushing them?
  11. My take; A listener evolving into voidbringer. A Thundercast? In most visions of the past, as well as the prelude, voidbringers were described to be of stone.
  12. To be a traitor to anything you first have to be a part of it, and so far nowhere as it been stated that Shallan is a Ghostblood, quite the contrary. That she stole from them, ok. That she betrayed them, not so much.
