  1. My understanding was completely different. Larcener couldn't take her powers because she had rejected him and "claimed them for herself," not because she was from a different world.
  2. I think she was sort of a "proto-epic" like David. During firefight I remember her tossing David around and exhibiting super strength. My assumption was that either she was doing a great job of suppressing her powers, or that she had faced her fears but wasn't using them. Now that Larcy boy is gone she doesn't have to worry about the darkness/stigma involved in being an epic and can kick some butt to her heart's content.
  3. DEAR GOD MAN, THE IMPLICATIONS ARE OBVIOUS! The Set is clearly a cabal of highly intelligent hemalurgically infused dolphins hell bent on ruling the world! Trell is merely a front to detract attention from this subtle aquatic menace.
  4. Forgive me, but wouldn't Odium be most interested in gaining harmony which is as close to neutrality as you can get. Adding harmony to Odium would allow him to stay all evil (or whatever he is) like he wants but gain two shards worth of power since harmony's shardonic intents seem to cancel one another out.
  5. Everyone seems to have a different theory on who Trell/The Red Haze belongs to. My question is why can't it just be Odium? I can't think of any other cosmeric entity which is more closely associated with Red and RED EYES in particular. Ruin was all about black, and some form of corrupted Kel/Ruin hybrid would probobly continue with the same color scheme. It also doesn't seem like that autonomy or some other shard would have exactly the same color and motif as odium. Additionally the set-Kandra (or whatever we are calling them) seemed to have a philosophy very similar to a corrupted Vorinism and seemed more Cosmere aware than even Harmony, making sel originating character/force less likely.
  6. I got it on audiobook so i don't remember the exact quote, but regalia said something about "fitting powers." What did she mean by that? Fitting given his fear of water, fitting given his status as steelslayer, fitting given his proclivity for bad similies?
  7. I know he has done a lot of damage but obliteration is far more sympathetic than any of the other epics. I wonder what he was before?
  8. Nah, just trick him into a game of tick-tack-toe and start on a corner.
  9. This is a really partially formed idea, but what if he is afraid of "losing." Tia mentioned that he never entered contests, and he gained his powers as his students where under threat.
  10. If you look at the traits for #8 (Resolute, Builder) I feel it has to be bondsmith because that's by far more accurate than (learned, giving) or (Pious, Guiding) for Dalinar. From there I would tentatively put willshapers at 5 (learned, giving) and truthwatchers at 10 (Pious, Guiding)
  11. I would rather Renarin become a Radiant than Adolin.
  12. According to wikepedia a dollar coin weights 8.1g, let’s just say a mist born coin is 10g (.01 kg). Let’s also assume we have a 160 pound (73kg/714N) allomancer. Finally let’s assume that a mist born push follows a distance squared law like gravity or magnetism. That means that the force pushing on the coin is 714N/xm^2. If we assume the allomancer is 50 meters away from the shardbearer, and the coin is held at arm’s length than the work done is the integral from .7m to 50m of 714N/x^2 dx which is 1005J. Work is equal to the change in kinetic energy and since the initial kinetic energy was 0, the coin has a kinetic energy of approximately 1000j. Working backwards we can see holding the coin closer or weighing more will increase the damage of the coin.
