  1. Mary Dan and Howard? I feel so out of the loop with all this cosmere stuff.
  2. Wow lots of replies. I don't see anything wrong with speculation regarding Jasnah's potential matches. This character would perhaps be the most surprising and interesting relationship story arc, considering Jasnah's view on men and her confidence and independence and all that. To tell it plainly, in real life there are many lonely people out there with nobody that loves and cares about them. I'm not saying that Jasnah is lonely, it's just that, so far as I can tell, she doesn't have someone really special to her anymore (I assume that Gavilar was the only one she deeply loved and vice versa). Jasnah to me seems too independent, distant and immersed in her beliefs to the point where there's no love, just duty or living, no purpose.
  3. Wow.. I can't believe I don't remember any of those mentions. Maybe it's because she wasn't in an actual scene? Do we have any clue as to when Kaladin was with Tarah? While he was in Amaram's army I presume? That first passage I think I thought of Tarah as being the small girl he tried to save but failed and she died. What was her name?
  4. Can you give me some chapter references in the WoK and WoR where he mentions Tarah? I would like to go over them.
  5. So I was thinking about when Jasnah comes back and all the hubbabaloo with that, then got to thinking her possibly being around Sigzel. A possible criticism of his work or some scholarly criticism, Sigzel having an immediate crush opon seeing her, being initially annoyed with the other, just some thoughts. Assuming Jasnah enters a relationship with someone already in the series (she could end up with some Elsecaller or Stone Warden for al lwe know), who do you think she might match?
  6. Just like the title says, who? Everyone on the forums keeps mentioning her and Kaladin, but I only remember Laral as a potential romance in Kaladin's life.
  7. Aaah I had forgot that. Still it's annoying. Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 387973120 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 454748464 bytes) in Unknown on line 0
  8. What the rust? Apshhh. Who's Tarah anyways? Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 387973120 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 389032240 bytes) in Unknown on line 0
  9. What Kaladin KNOWS to be right or wrong. Just like when Pattern and Shallan are talking about the nature of truth, you can derive from that scene that only the cognitive and physical realm are subject to variable truth, but the spiritual realm is not. I attribute moral values and the like to the spiritual realm ( journey before destination, the path is what matters, honor, all that stuff). The only definite truth I think is morality or "what's right and good". Yeah that was one of the most annoying things for me. Syl has had access to thought and been with Kaladin for probably half a year and here comes Pattern who knows it all and even more so than Syl in some cases. He didn't even run away when he mentioned Odium. As far as we know, Syl can't even speak the name.
  10. So this can be just a general discussion of the nature of the orders of the Knights Radiant's, but I wanted to ask a specific question based on a few simple elements of a few of the "Radiant's reborn". First two subjects: Jasnah and Shallan based on what we learned in WoK, they both were soulcasters, which was, if I'm not mistaken, an order of the KR? It has been mentioned a couple times in each book that some of the KR's could soulcast. Is this ability to soulcast just for special people in the KR, is it randomly dispersed between the orders, or can some members of the KR be apart of two orders? Second subject: Lift In her interlude, she grew vines very rapidly to break a window, and she obviously had the ability to manipulate friction by adding friction or taking away. Does this mean she was part of two orders as well since there were two different abilities she had? EDIT: I just looked on the wiki and found an image that discribed the orders pretty well. I was assuming that two separate powers meant two different orders. So I guess the answer to my first queston would be that only Lightweavers and Elsecallers can soulcast because of Transformation? Or is each shared attribute between two given orders manifested differently? Example: Lift and Lopen can both use the attribute of Progression to revive people or "regrow" them (I assume Lopen can do this because he started to regrow his arm), but Truthwatchers share the attribute of Progression with them. Does this mean they have the same ability to "regrow" or do they manifest the attribute differently? Does that make sense?
  11. First of all, sorry for any typos/mispelled names, I listened to the book so I don't have the text. I love Lopen so much, every seen he's in is hilarious and awesome. "The Lopen sucked in light. It happened in an eye blink, and then there he sat, stormlight streaming from his skin. Ha! he shouted, leaping to his feet. Ha! Hey Chalinko! Come back here! I need to stick you to the wall!"
  12. That's a very interesting conclusion. I hadn't even thought of a deeper reason for joining Bridge four. Now what I'm wondering is whether or not the revelation of the future he saw is just something that randomly came to first Taravangian and then Renarin, or if seeing the future like that is an attribute of the Truthwatchers. If so, than Taravangian is a Truthwatcher as well. I could have sworn that, in Taravangian's interlude, it spoke of the Nightwatcher in a way that implied he had gone to her, and that was Taravangian's reasoning as to his revelation of the Diagram. If that's the case then had Renarin ever sought the old magic? I know this is kind of off topic, but I just really wonder how/why Renarin started making his own "diagram".
  13. Oh lol I'm so narrow minded. Sorry for the confusion xD, thanks.
