  1. In the new excerpt, Chapter 12, we see Kaladin withdraw stormlight into himself, which makes me think, if he could do this whilst battling Szeth I can see a scenario where every time Szeth tries to use a full lashing (or another) we see Kaladin not only nullifying it or drawing it into him, making for an interesting point in the battle. Two foreseeable issues are though are: 1. Can Kaladin only withdraw his own stormlight and not all stormlight infused in the rock as part of a lashing 2. Kaladin currently seems to be inhibited by touch, is he going to get better at it or will we see some crazy point where he gets infused/ is touching whatever is infused at a critical point and can as a result catch Szeth unawares
  2. I think we've reached a point on that we have to decide whether or not we want to consider Elhokar a surgebinder or wielding an honorblade, with our new interlude suggesting that the two do not coexist (the Listener know-it-all seemed to divide them pretty clearly). Personally I believe that he's seeing spren as part of his paranoia, and I personally believe that as a result he's either a surgebinder and therefore not wielding an honorblade, or that someone (money's on Jasnah) is spying on him using spren and he has the capacity to see them (far less likely but we still can't say for sure what the full capacity of spren are) I think ultimately though, Occam's Razor, more evidence seems to be in favour of him being a surgebinder than him wielding an honorblade, I could be wrong so by all means prove me wrong .
  3. When I first read atmospheric pressure I had always thought it would be something to do with the highstorms, like riding them or something similar. I think it interesting to note thought that Syl acting in a capacity identified as a windspren has a tendency to stick things together, if that is behaviour of a windspren then you'd think that would lead more credence to an atmospheric surge acting in a way we don't full understand as opposed to a gravity surge (or alternatively that Syl was just using abilities greater than that of a typical windspren).
  4. Yes hoser! Thanks for getting that in a nutshell! We know that something has happened to the relationship between the KR and the shardblades, but I was just thinking what if the corruption or the change wasn't necessarily in the blades themselves but the way that they were perceived. If odium refers to intense hatred, if Rayse had somehow acted to induce hatred in such formidable weapons, it would be consistent with the words of Syl.
  5. I'm sorry if this all comes out as rambling, it goes against several other theories about shardblades, and may be a bit weak, but I'm sort of just building off something I came up with. *Spoilers follow* We know from the Well of Ascension plot twist, that Brandon Sanderson likes a good plot twist, especially in relation to corruption, so is it possible we're meant to have one here? The Knights Radiant wielded shardblades given to them by the heralds (agents of Honor) in the last desolation, but yet Syl (and Honorspren) in referring to Dalinar's forfeited shardblade remarks: "It just feels wrong to me. I hate it. I'm glad he got rid of it. Makes him a better man" Now is it just me, or is hate a fairly strong emotion, an emotion that would be more at home with someone affiliated with Odium rather than Honor? Now I understand that Odium provokes hatred from others, so if the Shardblades are of Odium, they would provoke hatred from someone affiliated with honor, like Syl and like Kaladin when he passed up on the blade earlier. But in the alternative could Odium seek to triumph on Roshar by corrupting the now splintered Honor to make the spren of the Knights Radiant 'hate' the shardblades the Knights Radiant so effectively wielded, and separate the Knights Radiant from their weapons.
