  1. I hate both of you. Cruel, cruel people.

PSA: If the Dula puts me as a lover with Claincy, I will mark you as dead in all games henceforth. You will be my biggest target ever, no matter what alignment I am or the strategic reasons for keeping you alive. You will be an even bigger target than Claincy. And that's saying something. Oh, and I'll probably sacrifice myself, just to kill him. OW came back from being eaten by an Awakened sword. What's to stop her from whatever death she inflicts upon herself here?

And this is the reason, as amusing as I thought it might be to match up you and Gamma (had he been a player), why I would not have done so.

Also, you're not helping shake that moniker which I daren't mention.

Is not actually sure who I'd ultimately go with if I had to pick two people - do I pick myself and a player I wanted to work with for the game? Do I try and pick a pair of inactives? Do I try one of the amusing combos?

  2. IS JOINING!

Will go with Edrab Leah for the moment.

Edrab is a famous author from another land. That is, he's famous in another land as being an author. He's yet to write any books while on Sel, as he's been suffering from a case of Writer's Block. He's been looking for inspiration, and so is hanging around to see if anything interesting happens.

  3. Usually what ever the latest version of Windows is, whether that means the latest publicly available preview build, or just the latest RTM release while they cook up the next one. Though, not so much the Win 10 preview. The Win 7 and Win 8 previews were all entirely stable (at least the way I used them). The Win 10 previews have been noticably less stable, but they're a different beast.

Why Windows? Habbit, and cheap. It's nice to not be limited (largely) in what software I want to download and run. Don't have to worry about dual booting or virtualisation or emulation. I also do not have the money for apple products, or (more importantly) view them as worth the price. I agree with the sentiment that iPod's are the best standalone audio players, but again, I've a phone that does that adequately. Would I use a mac if I had one? Maybe. Not super fond of the way they work (have had to use them at uni...), but I could learn. There has sometimes been bits and pieces of software that are Mac only that I've wanted to try. But I don't think I'd ever transition into using a mac/apple product as a primary computing device. If I could pick up a cheap Mac Mini, I probably would, but that's about it.

I guess I'm sorta a Microsoft fanboy (I've a Lumia 820, and a Surface Pro 2), but I can appreciate linux and OSX as having their uses. I just currently don't really have enough uses for them to actively run them (or chase down a cheap mini).

I must say, I am looking forward to Windows 10. So much cool stuff. Windows 10 on phones will actually be able to sorta function as Windows on a Phone - plug it up to a screen, bluetooth in a keyboard/mouse, and then use do stuff in Word, with it looking like it were on a PC. Also, curious to see how the app stuff goes with their work making android, iOS and standard windows program code compilable to Win Apps.

  4. 10th doctor would probably be my favorite. 2nd series (Tennant and Piper) was the best, in my opinion. Best thing about Tennant? Gadgets. He always had some new gadget that didn't quite work. The Easter special? 'Ooh, it turns' as the radar starts working. Why season 2 (of the revised series)? I like how he worked with Rose, and thought that as a whole, it was the best written series so far (Well, wasn't so fond of the London Olympics one, or the one with the Wire). That's not to say there weren't great episodes in the other series, but I think season 2 had most of what I'd call 'great' episodes.

Matt Smith was also pretty cool. He was fun, and Clara was probably my favourite companion. She went on day trips, rather than an impromptu vacation, and I liked that. Amy and Rory were not too bad either. Not super fond of Capaldi, but I really think that's more because I dislike the way Moffat's written the last season or so. Much preferred RTD as the show runner, I think. Moffat was better at writing once off episodes. Blink was obviously a gem, and I quite enjoyed the Silence in the Library double.

Doomsday was and it's pair was a great finale to season 2. After that, thing's escalated out of control.

Ohnoes, end of the world. No, wait... End of the Universe..., No wait, end of TIME.  Wait, no, the universe has ended now.

  5. Been trying to build up a board game collection over the last year.

Re: Co-op games - Have Forbidden Desert, Pandemic, and Flash Point. Thus far Flash Point's been my favorite - my sister and I find Forbidden Desert and Pandemic a bit predictable, though we've not played a whole lot of either game. They are easier with just two players, but even when we've had 3-4, we only had a bit of trouble with Forbidden Desert, and that's was only until we worked out what we did wrong the game we lost. Maybe we just got lucky draws in the handful of games we played, dunno. Flash Point felt a bit more immersive, so if we were to pull out a co-op game it'd that.

Oh, and there's Escape: The curse of the Temple. Now that is quite some fun.

Betrayal games: BSG: The boardgame, Saboteur, The Resistance (plus expansions). Unfortunately only been able to have one game of BSG, and card's weren't shuffled well. Basically had no conflict. Need to play that more. Otherwise, The Resistance is lots of fun, and Saboteur works nicely - you don't reliably have a traitor, and the game encourages everyone to backstab each other - the first player to the end gets the most stuff. You have the nice balance of 'I want to be first to the finish' with 'if we mess each other over enough, the traitor will get everything'.

Love Letter is a nice little filler game - name/theme has nothing to do with the mechanics, really, but it's the mechanics which are cool. There are a number of cool themed variants too (Hobbit, Batman, few others I think).

Now, what I'm looking forward to is a pair of games I kickstarted - Asking for Trobils and Viceroy. Those should be hopefully be here in the next week or so.

  6. (Aww... Venture, you didn't respond to Urtin smashing into you :'( )

Just before he hit the figure with the cane, they jumped away. In the moments it took for him to land, and recover his footing, it seemed Winter managed to die and heal herself back to life, while a few new figures joined the fray. Winter seemed to be focused on Elsa, and seemed to have a handle on it, so he decided he'd try keep the others of Winter's back. He hurled he shardblade at Rainspren, and then barrelled into Screwloose, tackling them to the ground.

  7. Edit: Upon rereading what Winter said, what I've said here I'd completely wrong.

So to be clear, spies will be identified as being from different Houses (say, Elariel, Tekiel, Erikeller, Urbain), but these houses do not exist as minor house group docs. Further more, the only doc GH spies have access to its their eliminator super evil scheming doc?

Oh, and yeah, I meant Wilson. Sorry Winter.

  8. Edit: Winter Cloud, do we know how many Houses there are in the game, or is that a PAFO? :P

A question Winter. Do the GH spies get identified by which GH they belong to, or do they get identified by the minor House they'd infiltrated?

    On the number of houses:

    PAFO

And which great House they belong to.

    Okay then.

So, based on there being 2-3 people per house, with 27 players, gives us say 9 min (all houses have 3 players) and 13 max (12 houses of 2, and one house of 3). More likely to have 3 players per house, IMO, so I'm going to guess maybe 10 houses?

And if I'm reading that right, it means that an eliminator death doesn't soft clear the house they were in, as the house they're reported as from is not the house they had infiltrated.

To clear, it seems Winter was the Urbain GH spy. Say for example House Calomine was a minor house in this game, and Kas was the Elariel Great House Spy. When Kas gets killed, it'll say that he was the Elariel spy, as opposed to being a spy in Calomine.

So we don't actually know what minor house Winter was from.

If I've interpreted that wrong, do correct me.

  9. Can I trust you this time, Joe? I wanted to last time, and we all know how that ended. I guess we'll see.

It would have been one of the more experienced players to have killed the bloodthirsty goddess - I believe a number of people are of the opinion that the worst thing to happen in one of this games is to have wilson as a foe, so the safest bet is to get her out of the game before her latest avatar can start the blood flowing - seems that paid off this time, being an Eliminator Mistborn and all.

Curiously, it appears we may confirmation of a 2nd mistborn, which I guess is nice. The fact that they are probably experienced is also useful to us.

I didn't see the Secondary Win condition as a bloodthirsty one - more as who can buy and use the marriage contract item most effectively. Should two houses trust each other, it allows them a superior way of communicating without fear of a tineye. Of course, you run the risk of having a skaa, GH spy, kandra, or inquisitor in your doc, but at least you don't have to be concerned about your message not getting delivered, and rather falling into the hands of the eliminators.

Speaking of Tineye's, we have one less potential enemy tineye, meaning messages will be slightly safer.

A question Winter. Do the GH spies get identified by which GH they belong to, or do they get identified by the minor House they'd infiltrated?

  10. (While Rab won't, due to the Directives, I'll bow to your superior knowledge on the topic).

"Well, sounds like Xanas here has just what you need. Of course, if you've your own healing factor, then you're better off with that, but say the word, and he'll have you right as rain in no time."

(Is the Queen wearing Shardplate? Cos unless she's Radiant, think it messes with investure?)

  11. "Multum terribiliter, credo. Illa videtur territi, usquam. Sed sine exitio."

(Heh, lets see how that goes - I've not taken latin at all. This is just Google transate, and even it doesn't necessarily give me back what I put in)

    EDIT:

"Well, I'm sure we could fix it with spikes. Not particularly fond of them though... But really, depends what sorta Investure you have on hand. You one of them Radiants? Or maybe one of them Pewter allomancers? Or a Gold ferring? Any prime invincibilities?"

  12. "A severe case of amissomultum sanguinis" Rab repeated. The queen continued to give him a blank look. "Sound it out - Amisso multum sanguinis... Huh, well how about that... Seems I've picked up a Knack for using Latin in temere locis."

(Is use of magicsystems from different authorverses against them unspoken rules? I guess I can always make it into a Talent if need be)

  13. Rab had borrowed some shardplate, and one of those shield shard things. Not a blade itself - apparently a shardblade wasn't a necessary tool for a doctor. He'd have change peoples mind about that. Anyway, he'd volunteered to assist in doctoring The Alliance forces, should they need it. And it seemed they did. He had been on his way towards Queen Elsa to check up on how thing were doing, and if there were any residual effects from the spikes they'd pulled out. He thought that that was probably the sort of thing a doctor would do. He was going to continue to play the part for the time being anyway. As he approached, though, Damnation itself seemed to brake loose. Winter and her pack suddenly changed sides and started tearing into Newcago forces. Winter even managed to reach the Queen, sinking tooth and claw into her back, before getting knocked away by nearby warriors, until they got engaged by an important looking Parshendi. Rab started to race forwards as he saw the queen collapse. He continued to keep an eye on the Parshendi as he fought against Newcago's finest. There was something odd about this one... something familiar... as if they'd both come from the same place. Rab shook his head. Obviously nonsense - they were on different sides, originating from completely different times and planets even. He reached the queen. "Hmm, this doesn't look good. Seems you have a case of amissomultum sanguinis. Going to need to do something about that, Your Highness."

  14. Yeah, I'm pledging, though only for the PDF - Australian Dollar plus shipping makes things annoyingly to expensive for me to justify pledging much higher. Will maybe gets some addons, provided that's an option with the pdf (and provided shipping isn't too dear either). Also hoping for the 70 maxims book (and hoping PDF is an option)

  15. As Urtin was flying through the air at Winter, red lightning shot past him at her. She jumped, no, was pulled out the way by some unseen force. Her face changed, suddenly terrified. "No!", she screamed, as her eyes flashed red. The look of terror vanished, replaced by a visage full of hate. She grabbed a coin, turned, and pushed herself away. Urtin landed where she had stood moments before.

"Running from a fight? Coward, I call you." He yelled after her. Watching her, she landed near her pack. He could see her say something to them. Then all of a sudden, they turned and attacked. But no longer the Listeners, but the Newcago army, their allies. Winter herself was out the front, tearing into the army, cutting a swathe through towards where the Queen fought.

Rayse. He knew it had to be. Many of his brethren had surrendered to their old god. His secret kept him free from Rayse's control, thankfully. He still fought with his brethren though. He rallied his troops, directing them towards the hole made by Winter and her pack. He raced off ahead to try and catch Winter. For now, it seemed, they were tentatively allies. It could pay to keep Winter on their side.

As he approached, he saw Winter had already reached the Queen. A figure smashed into her back, and then in response to someone calling out to him, smashed a sword-now cane- into the side of her head. That wasn't helping Urtin's cause. His re-summoned his Shardblade and slammed into the figure with the cane.

  16. Could also checkout the MBI role-play. Sure they're not all canon, but there is a list on there of all the different house names. Presuming you've got what you need now though anyway.
