  1. Hoid is David Bowie. Sazed sounds like Ben Kingsley in my head.
  2. You're right that Odium couldn't have been the weapon, but we don't know that Rayse wasn't.
  3. I don't buy it. Even if there was no trade, that's a 1000 year reign. No one ever explored the world during the time? It's just not plausible to me. But thanks for the WoB re: Harmony!
  4. I suspect it's because he didn't feel he had too. He took the Bands with them.
  5. I don't think Era 1.5 is Cosmerically important enough to warrant off-world travel being central to the plot. That said, there's the strong implication that Trell is an off-world shard holder, so it's very possible I'm wrong. That said, I just don't see it yet. Regarding, Southern Scadrial, why wouldn't the know about the Lord Ruler. Surely they did some contact with the Final Empire, even if it was just trade. The shrine could easily be have made by Lord Ruler loyalists fleeing after he fell. The metal is a more interesting question. Like you said, they could have just been following tradition, but it suggests more knowledge than the average citizen. Though, I don't think it was to hide from Harmony. Ruin couldn't change anything written in metal, but he could read it, I think.
  6. It's not non-physical (in every realm, at least). It can't be when you can pick up the pieces of it's body after it shattered.
  7. I've put this at theories forum, but I'm pretty Andonalsium shattered itself on purpose so it could eventually come back stronger to face it's opposing force.
  8. I apologize if this has been asked before, but I can't find it: Why is it called the Cosmere?
  9. 10. Honestly, the concept has been around at least since the first time Batman and Superman teamed up and probably longer. Brandon may be unique in both the vastness of his universe and in terms of having the plan from the start.
  11. The thing that's always confused about this is that if they are truly the same number, you should be able to get the same number if you multiply both sides of the equation with the same number. E.G: If .9999 = 1, then the equation (10000 X .9999) = (10000 X 1) should be true. However, 10000 x .9999 = 9999 and 10000 x 1 = 10000. Clearly, some sort of mathematical voodoo is going on on one side or the other, but I'm not sure which side it is. EDIT: And I've realized the error in my math. Back on topic, I used to think classical heroes were kind of useless...until Kaladin.
  12. Brandon learned math from the same guy who taught Douglas Adams, and that's why he still calls the Wax & Wayne books a trilogy.
  13. There were as many unanswered questions in The Alloy of Law as there were in The Final Empire: In fact, there may have been more unanswered questions. Brandon learned math from the same guy who taught Douglas Adams. ...TO THE BAT-SANDERSONFACTS THREAD, ROBIN!
  14. Well, I disagree, but I'll concede it largely comes down to opinion. I guess I'm not too picky when it comes to movies. I've consumed enough stories in my life that I'm rarely surprised anymore, so as long as a movie entertains me and doesn't insult my intelligence, I'm usually satisfied enough. That's part of why I like Sanderson. There's always at least a handful of things I wasn't counting on.
  15. If anything, it's proof that it's not Kelsier. Why would Kelsier have a red line, but not Luthadel? Sorry everyone, but it's not him.
  16. Well, I can add Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Goldfinger and The Spy Who Loved Me too the list off the top of my head. Besides, there's a difference between "Not As Good As The Book" and "Completely Worthless". This is a joke right? We've never lived in a better time for epic stories (Lord of the Rings, Narnia) . Even those with explosions and action are better about story than they used to be 10-20 years ago. One way but far from the only one. I have faith. No More seriously, I object to the impliction that because I'd like to see the movie, I'm incapable of using my imagintion. Funnily enough, I like the Percy Jackson movie a lot more since reading the book.
  17. It literally laughed outloud at this. FOr longer than I care to admit. Contrary to popular belief, the SanderBots do not exist. In fact, Brandon sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his writing abilities. However, Brandon first bequeathed his soul to someone else first. The Devil is too busy begging for Stones Unhollowed to notice. God has since subcontracted the universe to Brandon. Everything that happens to you happens because Brandon wrote it. One day, he will write the ultimate crossover and you will make a cameo appearance. On day, Brandon will die, but he will be resurrect, because no one else can write the biographies and biopics about him.
  18. I've a dated worse. I'd go with Vin. I've always been on the right (as in direction) on the Lawful Vs. Order scale, so her bad side appeals to me. Her personality (passion, loyalty, deviousness) all, to borrow a phrase, rubs me the right way. And now, for something completely different;)...Marasi. Cute, slightly naive coed who likes solving mysteries. Did someone give Brandon access to my teenage fantasies? That said, I suspect she'd encourage my ego too much and I get dumped before too long. Finally, I wouldn't mind a few casual dates with Blushweaver (which doesn't just mean sex, you dirty-minded loons ). What can I say. We both like politics, we're both have god-like egos and I've never been one to say no to a good chest wiggle.
