  1. That's exactly what I assumed as well. I think the reason he seemed dead, is that her connection with him was broken when he was captured. I do worry that his body is actually dead, though.
  2. I got the impression that Dalinar didn't just create a perpendicularity at will, but rather, the Highstorm is Honor's perpendicularity (which would explain why it comes with an unlimited charge of stormlight) and Dalinar channeled the Highstorm through his bond with the SF.
  3. On pages 887 and 888, Shallan has a discussion with Pattern. He explains to her how spren first live together in the cognitive realm, and when they bond to a human, they pass through a sort of veil into the material realm. They gain an identity, but lose their memories. It seemed like the most Mormony thing ever.
  4. This might have been mentioned already, and it's not really a typo, but page 780 needs some serious math work: (Spoilers ahead, btw!) 2 blades, 3 plates. 1 blade, 1 plate. 2 plates. Uh, nope, it doesn't. It leaves one Shardblade, that's all. Moash is now in possession of magical non-existent plate. Or am I missing something?
  5. Hi everyone! My name's Stephen, and I'm from The Netherlands. Having been part of a now long dead Sanderson community before, I had been considering signing up for 17th Shard for a while now. There was, however, this thing about my immortal soul being forfeited to your admins. Fortunately, I met a couple of you at a signing in West Jordan on Saturday, and I managed to save my soul, so here I am! I've been a fan of Brandon Sanderson for many years now and I've read all of his works religiously. On Saturday, I finally got a chance to meet him in person. He's even more awesome than his writings! He even gave me a Steelhunt code for coming all the way from Holland (which was fortunate, because dang were those Trivia questions tough!). Anyway, besides reading Sanderson, I'm an avid speculative fiction reader. I even have my own website—it's called The Ranting Dragon—where I (with a bunch of others) review fantasy and science fiction. I spend a lot of time at a Wheel of Time community called Tar Valon, and if this community turns out to be as much fun as that one, I expect I'll be seen a lot around your forums. I look forward to getting to know you guys! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them!
