    Hey!

Hmmm, yeah ok I get where you're coming from. For me the amazingness of Mistborn is the entire series. Saying that though if I think about it, Final Empire might be my favourite book on it's own as well. I honestly though when I started reading it that the whole series would be about taking down the Lord Ruler and then Brandon smashed that expectation making the book really hit home. And it's special because it's the first Sanderson book I read. Hmmm, yes Ffnord - you have a most excellent point!

    Hey!

I think Mistborn is mine too at the moment but I think the Stormlight Archive could maybe blow it out the water once we start finding out things and resolving plot lines.

    Hey!

Thank you lovely! Yeah Mistborn was the first I'd read of his, I found it on my flatmate's book shelf - she'd found it in a Charity shop and thought it might "be worth a flick through" Since then I think it's just the last couple of Alcatraz books I haven't read. I even started the Wheel of Time books just to get to the ones at the end, ha! Do you have a favourite?
  4. I picked hardback as I prefer to get them as soon as they come out but sometimes I buy the ebook version as well because well, the Way of Kings is really heavy and I have tiny hands ok! But it sure does look lovely on the shelf. And the artwork is amazing, no regrets
  5. They did a blog post about this over at the Tor website that has a lot of the same ideas but in a lot more sciencey detail if you want to check it out. It would be interesting to discuss but I don't want you guys to think I'm thieving someone else material (emphasis my own) Also I love this. That is a thing I'd bet money on. Maybe not a lot of money as Brandon is known for being tricksy but yeah...
  6. I loved it. As much as I freaking adore the cosmere books there is something special about his non-cosmere stuff. Also I just thought it was awesome how he took the popular Superhero thing at the moment and flipped expectations. I know it might not have been intentional since he's been cooking up Steelheart since '07 but I got a kick out of it. Throughout the book I'd been getting vibes that "Megan was a Epic, no wait - Prof's the epic, no no, it's definitely Megan - well they both can't be Epics!" ad infinitum. I really liked that they both were as it punched my expectations in the face a bit and they were knocked out cold when it was revealed that Megan was Firefight (a metaphor worthy of David if I've ever seen one). Can't wait for book two, I'm really interested in how being an Epic changes their DNA and this stuff about Mitochondrial mutation after death is interesting. And why do their personalities change when they use their powers and...so many questions. damnation you Sanderson *shakes fist*

    Hey!

Hello everyone, I'm Blank - I've been a masshosive Sanderson fan for about 5ish years now. Every time I hear someone sigh and say "you know, I'm not too sure what I want to read now" I push the Final Empire into their hands. It's been bought as Christmas presents several times over and my copy had to be replaced because I lent it out so much. I was also lucky enough to meet Brandon when he came to Scotland on his tour almost two years ago now. I've been a creepy lurker on these forums for about 2/3 years now and it has fuelled many wine soaked hours of conversations at dinner parties (and by parties I mean takeout with friends ) They weren't even aware of the cosmere theory! I blew their minds and then sent them here. Anyways, I just finished Steelheart and was like "enough Blanksy, just go make an account and geek out with other Sanderson type peoples" so here I am!
