  1. Btw, was it just me that reacted to the similarities between mraize and rayse? Im guessing that Mraize is aware of Rayse amd that he holds the third shard on roshar!
  2. chapter 85 prelude about the wanderer, where we are quite sure its hoid, Mr T:s buddy guesses its Mraize. Which ascertains that they either know of the ghostbloods, or Mraize is quite infamous.
  3. No they are definetly not the result of that. Most of the gender roles are part of an old culture and mindset we dont have today. I think people that fight gender roles are against the restricting parts of them, also, categorizing humanity after these two demographics really havn't worked out well. Considering that more and more research point to the incredible impact nature has on forming individuals, gender roles are not effective in specializing and effectivising. Rather they limit our potential. It's a hard subject to discuss, and i find it hard to express my thoughts clearly in English. I think you are basing way to much of your mindset on the fact that our biology impacts as much as you think it does. Everyone is different - i definitely agree here with you, but dividing the population based on gender just isnt smart and is not working out for us.
  4. As i understood it, Megan doesnt become more human by being reincarnated. Its actually quite the opposite. During her infiltration of the Reckoners, she almost never used her powers. Thus she returned to being "normal" or removing Calamitys negative influence on her. By being reincarnated however, her powers are being used again. That is why she seems so cold to David, I mean a normal person would not act this way. I think Brandon can pull it of logically. Brandon has explained earlier how he divide his worlds into the cognitive, the physical and the spiritual (?, not sure about the last one) The cognitive being buildt from the idea that every object has some sort of awareness. Therefore intent from humans can influence the physical world. Thats why i think the gun hurt stealheart, because in the cognitive realm the gun identified the being who acted upon it, and therefore David and Steelhearts emotions and intent could affect how the physical world plays out. Also, i think thats how the epics powers manifest. The powers exist both in the cognitive and physical realm, They are mostly limitied in the cognitve. Would also explain how weaknesses can seem so random, like Curveballs. His power can only be used from and object that identifies itself as a gun. Brandon extrapolates on this in The emperors Soul Where the magical power has a similar dilemma.
  5. Food for thought indeed. I however think its stretching it saying Deathpoint feared Steelheart before he launched his first attack. Atleast my impression from all the epics we've seen, they all exclude supreme arrogance. It just goes against what we've seen of the epics that Deathpoint would be afraid of Steelheart before he was famous. I personally think somewhere in Calamity, David will base his decision on how to counter Calamity by learning from Steelhearts weakness. Thus, his first try will not work. We've also seen Sanderson do similiar things ( Mistborn: The whole earring thing)
  6. Good book! As as always Brandon delivers on the last fifty pages. I called Megan but not Prof! Just a few things about the writing disturbed me. Was it just me that got ripped out of the story on the ninja alligators thing. That just felt waaay to forced. As others have posted before i also feel the book may rehash the mistborn theme. However i do like the whole "David redeems Megan" thing. Otherwise, great book, as always.
