  1. I kinda think along a little different line. From what I've read about the people we know have gone to the Nightwatcher, it seems to me that all of the boons and curses are basically the same thing (or at least tied together) for each individual. Mr. T. has waving intelligents so that he can do what he asked for but then has to be an idiot for part of the time as well. For Dalinar, my theory is that he was so torn up over his wife's death that he wanted to pain to go away. So she took the pain away as his boon but did it in sucha way that he now can't remember her at all as the curse. I also think there is a line in one of the books where he says he knows exactly what his curse and/or boon were.
  2. I think the power difference between the KR and the Heralds stems from the fact we haven't seen a Herald at full power yet. There is a WoB somewhere that states that the Heralds received their surgebindings from the HonorBlades but they had their own 'powers' in addition to those. Soemthing else that just popped into my head (lot of room there for popping). What if originally the Shardplate was not powered by the KR's stormlight but the sotehouse for it? The plate would get charged up and that would be where the knights would draw their stormlight from. That would explain why it would glow, it was so charges with light that it had to. But then, maybe not. just spitballin here.
  3. I don't think that plate is from another spren. Syl doesn't seem to have any problem witht he Plate at all, only the Blades. Also, at the dual, Kal got such a reaction from touching a Blade that the wielder also got freaked out by it but her was able to actually use a piece of Plate (Helm).
  4. A couple of things out of the JMHO corner. I don't see how Stormfather could be THE Bondsmith spren since it is stated that there were never more than 2 or 3 and any time. This tells me that at some point in the past there were multiple Bomdsmith KR simultaniously and it would be hard for them to all bond the same spren. I like to think of Stormfather as THE Honorspren. He has referred to Syl as his favorite child or daughter (I forget the exact phrasing). This would also allow for him being 'created' by the people's belief in and worship of Honor (the Almighty). This really making him a sliver of Honor in that he is the people's personification of the Almighty.
  5. I just find it a little 'troublesome' that the one person uses the term "My Lord's own blade". I think its pretty obvious that they are talking about Szeth but I'm not sure who that speaker is.
  6. I'll jump in here for my first post. It was my understanding that the spren would be captured in the fabrial and the gems are just the "power source".(maybe not the right term). That way the gems could be swapped out without issue if one broke. As far as soulcasting for the army, the King controls ALL the soulcasting because only the Ardentia is allowed to (supposed to) do it and they belong to the King. That is why it was illegal for Shallan's father to do what he did. There really was no cost in spheres for him to create the marble depostis since he was using a souldcasting fabrial to make them. So thats my 2 chips worth. Jim
