  1. Writing in public is super awesome actually, because even if nobody cares what you're doing you can always trick your brain into thinking that they'll all start judging you if you start browsing Reddit or researching obscure grammar rules instead of actually writing.

      Wait that’s so fair-

  2. Since my job blessedly lets me have an earbud in while I work, and since I'm caught up on all my podcasts, I've started listening to audiobooks. I just finished an Era 2 reread this way, and today I started again the Way of Kings.

Storms, it's good to be back.

  3. Honestly, same. Probably not in exactly the same way, but this kind of thing has been on my mind lately. In any case, *hugs*
  4. Written with a Franklin-Christoph 31 inked with Kyo-no-oto Moegiiro.

For whoever needs to hear it.

  5. Happy birthday!

  6. But I don't want to wait... Sounds familiar. Our ward was just chilling in the waiting area when the music turned off. Nobody thought anything of it until half an hour later, as the other group is finally finishing up, when the worker's like "Yeah, we actually closed a while ago, but it's totally fine, you can go ahead."
  7. It's been an amazing conference. I'll have to go back and listen to the Saturday Afternoon and Evening sessions again, as I was at work and could only hear bits and pieces. I'm not sure yet that I can pick out a favorite talk. And the temples! I'm happy to hear about all of them, but for some reason especially glad to hear about Edinburgh. Not only that, there's already two in that area--Jordan River and Oquirrh Mountain, with Draper just across the freeway. I mean, hey. The existing ones are full all the time. If everyone was as active in the temple as President Nelson has asked, we'd need five in every city.
  8. Just came back from choir practice! While I'm still not particularly confident in my abilities personally, we sounded really good, and I love the pieces we're performing. Can't wait for tomorrow!

  9. I've just finished The Black Locomotive by Rian Hughes. It read a bit like a Nolan film, if Nolan had a thing for trains--so, in other words, I absolutely loved it. However, I do have one major issue, which is...
  10. In case anyone's interested, I thought I'd share some of my favorite writing music. I've tried many things over the years, and sometimes they work, but most of them end up as a distraction one way or another. Not this stuff. I put this stuff on and I can write for hours. Not that I've done any such thing lately but y'know

  11. Happy birthday! ^_^

  12. I find that using fountain pens forces me to be more mindful of how I'm writing--it slows me down enough that I can be more consistent. Just pay attention to the way you form letters, and over time you'll improve. (See also Kas and Coolmint's advice.) Honestly, same? My handwriting is probably more suited to medium nibs but I can't stay away from the fines. Glad to hear it!
  13. Alas, I only mentioned wanting to get it fixed. The only thing stopping me at this point is the hassle of shipping and the distance of pen shows. I've always wanted to try a UEF nib, but I don't think I'd ever want to own one. My fine nib is just perfect; I can't imagine going smaller. Because it's so scratchy? How soft is the nib actually, or does it not matter since you're writing so lightly anyways?
  14. I do, but the nib is borked, remember?
  15. One day I'll really know what people mean by this
  16. Found this on r/fountainpens a little while back:
  17. You know that one super melancholy love song by Passenger? No, not that one, the other one. (10¢, etc. etc.) I just heard it for the first time the other day, and despite it being depressing as all get out, I quickly fell in love with it.

The pen is an Opus 88 Omar and the ink is Sailor Utah.

Also, here's a really good remix.

That’s an awesome looking pen! And your hand writing is so good!!

It is, isn't it? It's huge, too. One of the biggest ones I own. And, thank you! It's a little inconsistent sometimes, but I'm happy with how it's turned out over the years.

  18. Happy birthday! :D

  19. I just discovered that Kiribati is pronounced "Kiribass" and now I'm annoyed. (Even the dictionary got it wrong, which is just wild.)
