  1. Absolutely floored by the sheer beauty in this piece...Shallan jumps off the page and I couldn't have imagined her better. Not to sure about the left hand, but I'm sure it was planned out and drawn perfectly with the amount of detail that has gone into the rest of this piece. The Stormlight Archive has definitely become the must read book series for me, as nothing has even come close in attracting me and holding me. As you all can tell, I'm posting about it on a forum...lol. Can't wait for WoR to come out, and to discuss future theories with this community...just great being able to be a part of this series from inception to completion (hopefully.)
  2. Thanks everyone for the replies...I definitely have some running around to do, but I am very excited to get reading this book. Thanks so much for the help.
  3. Thanks for the replies. All I found about GollanCZ is a British Publication...do they have a distribution office States/Canada Side that you know about??
  4. This may or may not be in the the right place, but I was just wondering if anyone can confirm a date when a Soft Cover of WOR will be released. This may sound weird, but I love to read books in soft cover form because I love to track the decay of the spine as proof of which books I truly enjoyed the most...The more the spine is falling part, the more I have re-read them. I know, that's weird and most would be appalled by this blatant destruction of a book. Anyways...lol...any information would be greatly appreciated (Mod, you can move this thread accordingly if needed.) Thanks. T.
  5. I have never been one to re-read books as I have often found myself knowing enough to continue on in a series without having to do so, but I have myself really wanting to re-read The Way of Kings and other books by B.S so I can get a full grasp of the entire Cosmere. So this thread is mainly about suggestions and tactics you people generally take when re-reading books and to add a bit of spice to it, what are your most re-read books and why?
  6. My take on someone who has just started reading Book 4...Great series thus far, very fleshed out worlds that you can see as the main characters walk (they do that a lot so far) around, trying to get from place to place. Very well written battle scenes, especially the last 150+ pages of book two. Your mind will be trying to string together theories the entire time since you now know it last for 14 Books. Also, what I have been telling myself is "this is not a trilogy" give him time to introduce at his own pace because there's a reason why he paces his books the way he does (I think.) Please don't take my word for it and give the first book about 100 pages because "This is not a Trilogy."
  7. thanks for the reply, to see Mat step up as a main character because I feel he has so much to add to the story...also I have to keep telling myself...you still have 12 books to go and not all can be revealed like a standard trilogy. Anyways...Review of the first three books will be in coming when I get through the dragon reborn.
  8. Wow, what an amazing second book to this series. So many twists and turns, but I have to say the last 120 pages or so blew me away. I thought they would carry on with Egwene being a Damane into the third book, but how they had her put the a'dam on Renna and cover her mouth while she tortured her...that part of the book had me turning pages like crazy. I am excited to see how Nynaeve turns out and when she finally learns to control the one power through another means besides absolute rage. Min and Elayne are still a guess for me. Loial is good ol' Loial so far, but he really adds a good breather to the book. Ingtar being a Darkfriend really shook me for some reason, I just never pictured he, or any Shienaran being a Darkfriend, but as he even put it, Darkfriends are every where taking over every thing. Kind of anticipating Selene being One of the Forsaken, but we'll have to wait and see. Mat and Perrin are still a toss up for me as well, they have a role so far, but not really a role at all if anyone here knows what I am saying. Eagerly anticipating a Whitecloak revolution (hopefully they kill the Questioners and try to find actual dark friends.) Going to Chapters tomorrow to pick up The Dragon Reborn. PS. No spoilers in the comments please if you decide to leave one.
  9. Pewter is basically like steroids. Steroids itself doesn't give you more muscles, but gives you the ability to push harder for longer.
  10. I completely agree with your statement and is one of the reason I found myself putting down GRR Martin a couple of times between books...If every woman isn't naked, she's probably bent over or being beat up.
  11. I hope this to be true, this series has just begun but there is so much this series can offer.
  12. Hello and thank you for making such a robust community for the newbies of the Robert Jordan World. I am in love with all things Sci-Fi and Fantasy and after reading the Mistborn Trilogy and The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson I could not help but be intrigued by the prospect of starting and finishing the series that has inspired 1000's of author's and BS as well. Just got to The Stag and Lion Chapter 14, and I have to admit, the first 45 pages or so did not sell me on the book or the series because I went on reading it with a negative mindset. Many people on the internet claim that this series is just too wordy and has too much description, blah blah blah so I believed them and decided to read this book with that mindset as well. I put it down and thought to myself that I would never go back to it. Thank goodness that I decided to not judge a 12000+ page book series on the first 45. I have to say that this has been one of the most enjoyable reads I have started in a very long time. I feel like I am a part of Rand, Egwene and Co. I get lost in the words and sometimes have to reread parts because my imagination is taking me all over the place. I hope it continues to get better, it may get worse, but whatever happens the Wheel of Time has a new fan.
  13. This is the type of stuff that really intrigues me when reading Fantasy...I love the lore to the point of obsession sometimes. I find the history of the nation sometimes the most compelling reason to continue on with the stories. Just reading Hero of Ages as we speak and although I think I know the final outcome, the mini blurbs at the beginning of each chapter has hooked me almost as much as the actual story. BS has officially become my new favorite fantasy author followed extremely close with Guy Gavriel Kay.
  14. Do any of you believe that the book that Dalinar has read to him will be made available for the mass public to pick up and read? I would line up for that chance. Thanks. Also, would anyone in this forum be interested in purchasing something like that?
  15. In in a Fight I would pick Szeth just because A. he has a shardblade and B. Knows what he's actually doing although this fight will never come pass and if it does, it will be some stand off that gets broken up before either of them actually passes away.
