  1. This whole post is spoilers through rythm of war, so don’t read unless you have finished it. Would love it if I could get some feedback on this (probably crempot) theory.
  2. My general idea came from the fact that the only known dawnshard intent at this point is change, and i thought, how could this be used to defeat a litteral god? And i cam to the conclusion that the only way to defeat a (currently believed to be) omnipresent and omnipotent god is to have it defeat itself. It’s been very clearly documented that an underlying theme in many of brandon’s books is mental health, especially within the stormlight archive. And so I thought that maybe Adonalsium wasn’t directly killed by an outside force, but wrather simply driven to shatter itself. The other main part of my theory is how since adonalsium was all investiture, it is likely that no invested art could be used to kill it. So, what i think might have happened is that the original group who wished to shatter adonalsium simply made it shatter itself, using the dawnshards to alter adonalsium in such a way as to drive it to a sort of suicide.
  3. Thank you for replying! What i meant with the “yeeting” is wrather extremely fast interplanetary movement, based on extrapolations of keslier’s tug towards scadrial. I was also just giving braize as an example of where someone could be moved toward, not directly corelating to the oathpact. When it comes to your ideas about forming the Connection, I definitely agree. It would be dificult to get the target Connected properly, and that is the main thing holding this idea back.
  4. Ok, this might be stupid, but what if you used connection in the cognitive realm to near-instantly yeet someone to basically anywhere. The premise behind this is kind of spoilery, so avoid the entire post if you haven’t read secret history! You have been warned! Anyway What if we were to weaponize that? Using either hemalurgy or bondsmith abilities, we could cause someone to be Connected to another planet, possibly even one without a subasteral. Would this cause the person to be forcefully pulled towards that planet’s subasteral at high speeds.? could you use it to lock someone on another area, such as braize?(i give braize specifically as an example because of how it has already been used to trap invested entities) anyway, thats another dumb theory/crempost from me
  5. So, I believe Hoid has a shard. This theory origionally came about when I noticed that when asked, Brandon would often only say that Hoid “did not have one of the 16 shards of adonalsium”. This leads me to believe that Hoid had one of three things happen to him. Hoid carries a shard of another god. Hoid carries some form of a dawnshard, maybe even a 5th one. Hoid carries a 17th shard, or something like it. So, we know from RoW that anti-investiture exists. And we also know that investiture was at one point the same thing as Adonalsium, or close to it. So I belive that anti-investiture was at one point part of another god, a sort of counterpart to adonalsium, but got shatter as a byproduct of Adonalsium shattering. The shards of this being could have been picked up by other people, including Hoid. Another option is that hoid carries some dawnshard, or even multiple. There could be multiple instances of the main 4, or there could be a 5th one. I have less to say about this theory, as I am not well versed in the specifics of the lore surrounding dawshards. My final idea, and the one that convinced me to make this post, is that hoid carries a shard with no intent. What I mean is that there was something, maybe a sort of sudoshard, that held the other 16 together, and gave them the sentience that was Adonalsium. When the shattering occured, this power was removed and possibly splintered. However, Hoid came into possesion of enough of this power to become a sort of vessle. Since this sudoshard didn’t have an atribute, there was no intent asociated with it. This meant that Hoid stayed unchanged, other than possibly causing his limitations, like being unable to do harm. I realize that this post may be objectively wrong, but I made an attempt from the knowlege I had.
  6. Noticed that Leigh Bardugo’s grishaverse has several names and characters similar to cosmere characters/places. This includes jesper’s similarities to wayne, fjordell and fjierda, and the term bondsmith, would love to hear others thoughts on how this might have came about
  7. Charge his healing metalmind with anti-investiture at the correct tone, then hit him with something to start him healing
  8. So, we know how moving through the cognitive realm can get you to other planets or systems, so could moving through the spiritual realm bring you to other realities, such as earth for example? Just a small theory, but would love to get some feedback! Edit: A different way of saying this is that maybe while things can view their perception of themselves in the cognitive realm, they can be seen from the reader’s perspective in the spiritual realm, and might be able to push through a sort of fourth wall.
