I found a battered Alloy of Law in a library sell-off. This was 2012 or 2013. I then read all his Cosmere stuff that was out at the time.

I think the Omnibus definitely redeems them.

I agree on Mistborn Era 2 > Mistborn Era 1. I think for one that Brandon has improved as a writer. I also like the characters more.

I second this. And agree that the second trilogy is even better. Brian McClellan is very similar to Brandon Sanderson, but has his own unique voice. Brent Weeks' "Lightbringer" series is also a great read. It has a hard magic system and interesting characters. Some great twists too.
