  1. Didn't really think about this before, but I'm tilting towards your idea that the Soulcasting of something that came from you would be actually harder than that of which didn't. It's almost like you'd have to first be convincing yourself to change.
  2. My headcanon regarding Nightblood is that the black smoke is like a bile. The sword knows nothing but to gorge itself to the point it enters a sleepy food coma, only, from what we heard about WoB and the like, nightblood is completely saturated, and its not like it had specialized "digestive" system for investiture. So to me, Nightblood is constantly secreting "investiture bile" that is the result of whatever happens when all that stuff is slushing around in there all that time.
  3. Adolin's sensibility to people around him has been a recurrent theme since book 1 and it's why I love him in spite of his flaws and... over-flamboyance. I used to think a bond with a ressurected deadeye was unlikely, because of previous trauma, and that they'd have to build a different relationship towards the new radiants- But that changed with ROW. I think its likely, and we might see a different type of bond First there's the part 1 descriptions of fabrials say "First you must lure the spren with something it loves". Bit cruel, sure, but it got me thinking. Dead Blades need gemstones to operate and be bonded. every fabrial shares at least 1 common trait, the presence of a gemstone containing a spren, that was supposedly trapped after being lured by something it "loves". Well. What if what it loves is the bond? We know now that deadeyes retain, at least Maya, some aspect of their previous self, so maybe, big maybe... the Intent to Connect is still there.
  4. I'm fascinated with Roshar, from the earlier descriptions of plant and animal life to the storm-subjected architecture I think it's an extremely interesting world. That's how I pitch it to people LOL "Man, in this world they just have huge crabs" But even though i might be a little nostalgic about it, I also choose Scadrial. What really hooked me at first was the setting, the way the world was described made it so clear to me, and I just love the slight horror-ish dark vibe Scadrial has, it's generally way bloodier than the other series, and era 1 is so GRITTY, i love it.
  5. The Lopen! Always liked him, he grew deeper in WOR, and Dawnshard really did wonders for the character in my opinion. His wisdom is subtle but great and he had me openly cackling a few times in Dawnshard.
  6. Welcome friend! I've recently started really researching and theorizing stuff trying to put the info together and those epigraph collections and summaries are a blessing! You really went thru it since the kickstarter, the cosmere does have a lot of momentum. Do you have a favorite shardworld?
  7. Hello and welcome! New here as well, but I love to see another person discover the deeds through Mistborn. Who is or are your favorite characters from the first trilogy?
  8. Yes, indeed. I guess I overlooked a simpler example in my mistborn mind swamp
  9. The fact coinshots can push up to jump itself contradicts this, I think. It would mean the force would simply vanish instead of being transferred from the anchor to the allomancer, we know that most seen worlds are subject to natural thermodynamics on top of .... investiture thermodynamics i guess
  10. Thank you! I definetely forgot forums were a thing, dunno why i didn't join sooner considering how i ate this up hah
  11. Thank you Robin! Audio format really changed my life for the better, because it also made me more excited to read again too. I... You actually picked two of my favorites?! Impossible. Improbable? Love TenSoon, he's my favorite character in Mistborn Era 1, close tie with Sazed. But ultimately I would pick The Lopen, my cousin. I'm a big sucker for a big hearted jokester character with some depth to them, and sprinkle some (or a lot) of feelings of inadequacy (unfortunately can relate), so The Lopen is right up my alley, we would have a grand old time. Thank you Ene! I have already bought Warbreaker that i'll be starting as soon as finish my second Lost Metal run
  12. Hello to the 17th Shard and the wider Cosmere! I'm Ban Barrn Barôg, or just Ban Barrn, or Ban, or BB... I discovered Brandon all the way back in 2010 with Mistborn era 1 (that I really loved), but didn't particularly click with the author, or better, didn't pay attention to the bigger picture. After that I entered a dark period(let's call it that) where I just forgot what reading was, life is like that at times. In 2018, a friend with whom I had shared my Mistborn books said I should read The Way of Kings (Only then did I realize it was the same author from those books I loved from years ago), and with the popularity of audiobooks on the rise I gave it a try and... Immediately hooked by the end of the Prologue, have since acquired every Mistborn and Stormlight audiobook and done them all at least once, and for some, up to 3 listens although i have not explored the Cosmere much beyond these two series. Like many of you i'm sure I am fascinated with the mind of Brandon and started really craving more Cosmere theories, predictions and general excitement, so I began listening to Shardcast and after many a suggestion from the cast, made an account here! I'm happy to answer questions and squee and glee about anything cosmere.
