  1. So I have been thinking about this today. What would happen if Nightblood met Sauron's Ring? Would Nightblood be able to destroy the Ring? Would the Ring corrupt Nightblood or his bearer? Would Nightblood's ability to make evil people kill themselves extended to someone wielding the Ring? Personally, I think the Ring would come out ahead in this scenario but I am curious about what other people think. Also, I'm sorry if this isn't in the right thread, I wasn't quite sure where to put it.
  2. So I've been thinking about getting a Stormlight tattoo for a while, and I figure the easiest way would be to commission a design from a fan artist :). Are any of you artists or know artists who do these types of commissions? I am of course willing to pay.
  3. I'm so excited!! Unfortunately I won't be able to open mine until I go home for my spring break in March.
  4. I thought it was really weird that Huck knew how to read since he was a rat, I even made a note saying something like "I wonder if he was a human and the sorceress turned him into a rat?", then I completely forgot about it since I was just trying to read the book as fast as possible. There was even another instance where he seemed to know something that a rat wouldn't know or care about, though I can't remember what. I just accepted his explanation about being a familiar. When the twist was revealed it felt like the most obvious thing in the world that I definitely should have gotten.
  5. The quote is: ""I can't. For your own good, you see."... Oh yes. I've said those words. I said them with sixteen other people, in fact." (edited for clarity). We also have the quote: "[Hoid] was literally part of secret plot to kill God." I find this one pretty interesting, since we knew he was involved in killing Adonalsium, but I believe it being a secret plot is new information, though not super surprising. Also I just want to say I love the art!! Especially the one where Hoid is having an epic wizard duel while dressed as a dad on vacation
  6. It's mentioned in Oathbringer that humans used to harvest gemhearts from dead listeners: I never made the connection with Listeners and perfect gemstones, and now this line makes more sense.
  7. I think most people would know about how he rescued Dalinar at the Battle of the Tower, and about how Amaram betrayed him. Or at least, if you cared enough about him you could find out pretty easily. He told Shallan all about his past in the chasms, and I think he told Adolin a lot too, since we've seen in RoW that Adolin knew about the time he almost killed Syl, so he probably knows more of Kal's backstory. I'm not sure what Dalinar would know. Tbh I'm very curious about what he told his parents.
  8. Besides the Cosmere, the Wheel of Time would have to be my favorite. I also really enjoyed the Licanius trilogy by James Islington. It has a great story that involves a bit of time travel, which I've very rarely seen in fantasy. I think Forgery is my favorite. I like how it's scholarship based and what it does is super unique. Surgebinding is also awesome.
  9. Hi! So about 3 years ago I decided that I only wanted to read high fantasy books. I started with Mistborn, which I enjoyed immensely. When I started on the Stormlight Archive I became completely obsessed with the Cosmere. After finishing it I frantically read the rest of the Cosmere as fast as I could. I'm currently on a quest to re-read every Cosmere book (less frantically this time) . I'm looking forward to discussing the books with you all!!!
