I understand your viewpoint. Unfortunately in the Cosmere, shards overcome each other and there is no evidence to suggest shards are automatically equal while in a vessel. What you are saying cannot dispute my original post.

I cant seem to navigate to users on this website that appear in person on 17th shard videos and podcasts. Is there some sort of Directory function?

I didn't read anywhere where any shards agreed to settle the same system. Perhaps the vessel of Ruin wished to have a counteracting shard to keep him in check, and perhaps the vessel of Preservation agreed.. but none of the above is written and is therefore speculation.. The reality is that shards override one another.. but there is no shard that stands above the rest. The same obvious law should apply to vessels holding multiple shards... hence Discord becoming worse...eventually.. and the need to impede or restart the balance.

What happens when something is unbalanced in life? and it receives no further counteracting force? The unbalance continues. and continues. Thats why I think Sazed will give up both shards to perhaps restart the process somehow. Many shards can easily splinter the other, if they are held by the same vessel.. what law of the Cosmere have you observed which protects one shard over another at large, let alone in the same vessel?

Forgive me, but this proves my point. Why go from Harmony to Discord? You said slightly more Ruin than Preservation? What does this mean? When does this end? When does the counteracting force of the shard of Preservation hold the line? Why didn't it hold it at Harmony? Therefore why should it stop unbalancing? Because it wont be held at Discord. Its going to steadily decrease until Sazed gives both shards to someone else to start the cycle over again. (my theory at least)

My flash answer was something else.. like Dalinar or Jasnah.. but I realized if I were given the choice to read sample chapters.. it would have to be Adolin. Just a very relatable dude to a middleclass dude like myself. Very aware he isnt the smartest tool in the shed.. hell of a warrior. Will always try to do the right thing. How can you not like the guy?

I suppose a better Harmony type shard matchup would be Cultivation and Ruin. Or some type of Lifey growth shard.

I work with statistics a lot. Everything from business production, sales, stocks.. you name it. I see this get confused A TON in the fandom... but hear me out. Preservation and Ruin is NOT Harmony. Its not a horizontal line on a graph. Its a steadily declining one. If these were forces at work grinding against each other.. you will eventually end up with Ruin. A negative force against a neutral force = Negative outcome. A positive times a negative = a negative. After we see Discord in Era 3.. there will be perhaps further dissention into Ruin. Regression, Perdition, Dissolution, Atrophy, Whatever.. All roads lead to Ruin on this. Discord should be fun for a while. But Discord creates problems. And if problems arent solved.. what happens? I hope the reader gets my point. lol

Can you imagine? We think this great victory happens against the shard of Odium... only for the last chapter of the book to show the entire force of the fused absolutely demolishing cities and committing spren genocide or something like that.

Its essentially War.. vs Harmony. Who do you think will win the most engagements over time? Assuming the investiture in Knights Radiant and Squires, and Mistborn and Mistings are equally distributed on the battlefield. It would also be in Cultivations best interests to work together with Odium and Honor. Cultivation and Odium... This probably the worst matchup of shards to go up against.. especialy while the shards will mainly employ the Knights Radiant on the battlefield.. which is Honor. And then the fused working together with Knights Radiant? Roshar hands down. But Era 3 is a different story. Airplanes. Jets. Shielding. Nuclear Weapons.. Not looking good for Roshar. Unless the entire population of Roshar develops surge binding.

It just occurred to me that something very decisive happened on Roshar during ERA 2 during the SLA timeskip. Hoid is in Wax's employ for years, and its generally understood that Roshar is currently hard to get to. I cant remember all the reasons except for distance, but I thought it was mentioned somewhere that there were other reasons access to Roshar was limited as of The Lost Metal. If someone has the reference please let me know. Therefore.. I bring you these theories about Roshar. (We know Era 2 is SLA 5-8) A new agreement was made after something unknown happened during the Contest of Champions (book 5), and it involved Hoid being exiled, and perhaps even silenced to a certain extent. (Is it just me or doesn't he not seem like himself on Scadrial? Very quiet and unintrusive. Virtually no counsel) The new agreement made Todium retreat from Roshar.. BUT NOT SHADESMAR!! Guys... what if Todium was forced to retreat... but he brought all of his Fused to Shadesmar? As of the Cosmere timeline in The Lost Metal.. what if Todium is having a crazy freaking Spren conquest with all of his forces in Shadesmar?? Could this be what's happening during Era 2? What if the fused are razing spren cities to the ground..and establishing a beachhead at the perpendicularities? We have seen fused in Shadesmar before... Is there a limit to how much he can send? I could see Shallan and Morase joining forces again, but only against Odium. Then Adolin becomes honor. Because of this Shallan becomes a GB worldhopper double agent for Honor and Roshar.. and Lopen saves the world and walks into a Bar with Wayne on the other side. Ok ok. real talk though. I think Todium is going to crack down on Shadesmar.

I almost imagine it like nuclear fission vs fusion. The energy in the smallest invested particles in the cosmere can release enormous amounts of energy. Having 2 opposing metals burn in a misting like gold and copper is a blunt combination that burns up quickly. But two matching metals.. its energy release is seemingly renewable and self amplifying...still finite.. but an extremely efficient release of energy. I have no doubt space travel in era 3 will follow along this line.

I like this.. but I also like that at any point.. the vessel can speak through the individual if invested enough. You never know when the vessel is saying "we" via avatar.. or if the person who believes in Trell and the royal We.
