  1. As in "I wonder what I was thinking when I tried to chew this"?
  2. What I've seen of Liar of Partinel left me wanting to know more.
  3. Considering the way the orders match up to the essences (Windrunners -> Jes -> "translucent gas, air" -> windspren?), I wonder if all the Radiant orders' spren match the essence... so order 2's spren would be/resemble some kind of smokespren, order 3's would be flamespren, and so on.Of course, going by that, and assuming Shallan's in the Shash order (most people seem to think so), her spren would have to resemble a bloodspren, and I don't think anything like that gets mentioned. Except maybe the rotspren on people's wounds.
  4. Is there a limit on how many Shardblades one person can have, in the "can-summon-it-in-ten-heartbeats" sense? If not, can they summon them one at a time, or would somebody with, say, two Shardblades only be able to summon both at once? Probably not a very significant question, I'm just curious about whether somebody who owned a whole bunch of them would cut the floor to ribbons every time they tried to summon one.
  5. Interesting thought. I just looked through the Elantris glossary, and there are Aons specifically defined as meaning Honor (Mai) and Endowment (Eshe), and two that kinda fit Preservation (Dao - stability/security, and Edo - protection/safety).
  6. Wayne was right, this is exactly the kind of situation where you want to burn cadmium.
  7. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Cosmere dragons are as different from 'normal' dragons as koloss are from orcs.
  8. As far as I know, the only pattern anyone's noticed is that the position of the dot indicates whether it's a Pulling metal (outside the symbol) or Pushing alloy (inside the symbol).
  9. That's hemalurgy, but I'd expect that something similar happens to metalminds that get split up.
  10. That'd be nice, getting bits and pieces about the Age of Legends is half the reason I like Forsaken POV chapters.
  11. I kind of doubt it speeds up your mind too, since mental speed has its own metal.
  12. I saw the HoA one last week, didn't know they'd done the other two though.
  13. Are the Shards aware of Hoid hopping around their planets and doing whatever it is he's doing?
  14. I'd been thinking the same thing, or at least the part about being able to stand in for any of the other metals. It just seems nicely symmetrical with how Atium spikes can steal anything in Hemalurgy.
  15. I'd fill this one during quiet times at work, I figure storing mental speed would make time seem to pass quicker. I'm pretty sure the RPG suggests storing heat while in hot places, so I'd certainly guess you feel colder while doing it. I have trouble getting to sleep before about 1 AM anyway, so this is an easy one for me. This is true. I kind of wonder whether storing a small amount near-constantly would be a good way to lose weight. Seems like it shouldn't be too dangerous as long as you went slowly enough. This one, I think I'd only store very slowly, if at all. The "avoid tricky situations" idea should help, but I figure that if you've got bad luck then the tricky situations are going to find you anyway. I think I'd rather just have a small store of luck and use a nicrosilmind to get more out of it. Going by the RPG, you store investiture by transferring one of your other stores into it (how do nicrosil Ferrings do it?), so I guess I'd just trade in stuff that's as useful to store as to tap, like warmth or weight. Then I'd use it to boost stuff that's difficult to store safely, like health or luck.
