  1. edit: @Eternal Khol sorry I forgot, to quote you! Mainly chapter 9 and the way Sigzil talks about his homeworld. However, upon reading it once more I'd say it could be anything... definitely need to read this again when I'm less stoked.
  2. So am I reading too much into it or it's indirectly confirmed the storm ceases to be in SA5?! I don't know how to react to this rn.
  3. Was Virtuosity one of the original 16 Shards? (Because so much of the magic system reminds me of a combination of something from Roshar + ?? and we know this story takes place in the future, I've been wondering if Virtuosity is rather a combination of some sort)
  4. Yeah, you're absolutely right about the storage medium but I think that actually may be just part of the reason. While we do not know whether other spren keep similar stores it's especially the Honorspren that are mentioned to have this kind of wealth. As Stormlight is so closely tied to Honor and the Honorspren were almost completely destroyed when radiants abandoned their oaths and seeing how especially the older spren reacted at the trial - I can't help but wonder if there's not more to it (i.e amassing lots of investiture prevents Honor's power from reforming (as Harmony wonders)? Or perhaps avoiding a situation similar to the one in Sel's cognitive realm etc.)?
  5. The Honorspren got an entire vault of perfect gems full of Stormlight, so I agree with Inquisitor and think that's where they are. How the spren got hold of them is a completely different topic, though. I wouldn't be surprised if they worked together with one of Roshar's secret organizations (or even the Ghostbloods). And now it gets interesting imo, what's their reason for accumulating all these gems? Is it only wealth? I don't think so.
  6. While working on a theory I got completely sidetracked by the thought that we still haven't seen all of the internal Kholin drama explode and I agree with everything you've said. Also add to it in RoW Adolin thinks about how he will not fail no matter the price (and the price of things being a big theme in Stormlight), the references of Adolin having a lot of Dalinar in him (this probably does not refer to Dalinar's honorable side...) and the Kaladin/Shallan thing definitely going to blow up in one way or another the next book with Veil and Shallan becoming one person again. There's also the possibility we may be getting Gavilar as a CS, with further potential to turn things even uglier... so yeah. Adolin is a ticking time bomb that TOdium will try to exploit.
  7. Considering that Helaran's blade kicked so many events into motion this would make complete sense. I like that train of thought.
  8. I like this theory a lot and I'm thinking Kaladin's journey is mirroring how Honor got splintered in the first place (but will end differently). It's no coincidence he's called Child Of Tanavast and as you said the Honorspren being all about protection. Syl comments more than once that Kaladin can't keep up wanting to protect everyone, it's tearing him apart. The promises he gave to two sides (which I agree with you is pretty sure what Honor did, too) and ate at his soul. We see how often Kaladin is ready to go all in to protect and even sacrifice himself. There are some quotes in the books along the lines of "Honor loved mankind, he died defending you" and so I think in the end Tanavast was broken by all his failed promises and willingly gave his life to protect everyone. If there was any other complicit Shard I personally only see it being Cultivation - not willing to witness Honor breaking himself apart any longer.
  9. Personally I think the Stormfather will make a choice to spare somebody, becomes a deadeye and thus the Night Of Sorrow happens. I don't have the quotes at hand but more than once it's been asked what will happen if the storm ceases to blow and we will probably find out in book 5. This would also provide an even more urgent reason for team Radiant to find BAM and free her.
  10. While it may be in the planet as well (I kind of like the theory), the Honorspren also have an entire vault full of perfect gemstones filled with Stormlight. No way that's not going to play into this as well.
  11. Great, check your pms! Uff, that's a tough question. I'll probably go with Straff that dude just had no redeeming qualities at all.
  12. Thanks for the welcome! We'll see how that goes. @Frustration for your questions: I'm translucent because my thoughts need to become opaque to make sense? Ah nvm, I'm not that witty! It's a reference to Syl from TWoK. Oh and sure I'd love someone to work together, there's still so much to fill in or filter out. As of now my notes are still rather convoluted. Mind if I pm you?
  13. Thank you for the welcome! I'm mostly a reader too but if something grabs my interested I may get a little bit obsessed and try to expand on things We'll see how that goes. I'll look forward to seeing you around here!
  14. Hey everyone, finally signed up as I noticed I didn't have an account. I love theorizing on various Cosmere topics (sometimes it keeps me awake for hours, haha). Actually I've been cooking up one for a while, maybe I'll find the courage to share it with you. Nice to meet you and hopefully see you around!
