  1. Knowledge before Ignorance, Logic before Emotion, Truth before Lies I will seek the truth, no matter how upsetting I will accept even the truth I hate, so long as it is proven I will admit when I am wrong, in hopes that I may one day be right I will follow the evidence, wherever it may lead
  2. It seems to me that if we are talking Nahel bonding then it may not necessarily be as simple as shared surge orders, for example the Skybreakers and the Windrunners share gravitation but there are direct mentions of their conflict in Words of Radiance, as well as the obvious dichotomy Syl made by saying "The law doesn't matter, what's right matters" However I think it is too early to say whether or not holding to the oaths of multiple orders would be difficult, as we simply do not know more than a small fraction of the oaths. I honestly cannot wait to see the Dustbringer oaths.
  3. I'm sorry I generalized from this statement Between this and the fact that somewhere I know that we have WoB that only Nalthis Humans have Breaths I must have mistook all Breaths for Splinters
  4. Alright, so we know that each Breath possessed by the humans of Nalthis is a fragment of Endowments power. Nightblood is invested with a large amount of Breaths. All of these constitute a large amount of Spiritual Power which gives Nightblood its abilities. His Cognitive aspect is a result of the Command that Shashara gave to him being interpreted by this Spiritual power. Its execution is due to interpretation but its exigency lies with Human intervention. This is extremely similar to spren as defined by the Copper mind Just as Nightblood is a Spiritual power given sentience (or in the case of the more basic spren just a concept) by the actions of the cognitive presence of humans, so to are the spren. To me this seems like the most understandable way in which these two would be similar
  5. Thank You very much Kurkistan. That helped immensely
  6. Would someone tapping a large amount of weight still be able to move their muscles. We know that the Feruchemy protects the body itself from being destroyed but the weight gain but can the feruchemist still walk around and move? and if so wouldn't that imply that their general strength would increase as well, meaning that a Skimmer could tap weight not in the interest of using the weight but to get stronger? We never see Wax slump or loose muscle ability when tapping weight, even when he taps enough to crush a building with a Steelpush, but does this confirm the idea of his muscles getting stronger? We know he becomes more agile when his weight is lowered because he can move himself easier, so by this logic he should not be able to move at all if his weight gets to high and yet nothing we've seen seems to imply this. What do you guys think EDIT: had an extra "an"
  7. Hello everyone. So I've been trying like crazy to think of lots of interesting ways to use Allomancy and Feruchemy in less obvious more clever ways. So I thought I'd ask you great people at the forums. What's the most clever way to use any any combination or single power of The Metallic Arts. Mine is for an Iron Compounder to tap enough mass to create his own gravitational pull.
  8. Alright that makes sense. What if he Pulled on a far away metal source. The increased distance would decrease the force on him (as evidenced by the scene in which Vin Pushes herself higher and higher until the steel line is so faint she just sits suspended), slowing him down more gradually instead of all at once, and as he slowed down he could Pull on things closer and closer to him to eventually bring himself to a stop or change direction. Speaking of which if a far away anchor was not available he could instead pull at varying angles to change direction and let air resistance and friction bring him to a stop. Slower but as effective as the first. Or he could even Pull at angles such that the one plane of force cancels while the others add but to a small value that slows him gradually. Okay I'm rambling. Long story short you Pull to hard you can get hurt.
  9. This has all been really helpful. And yes when I get some content done I will definitely post on the fanfic thread. I had another thought as well. If a lurcher is in a very fast fall or even just moving very fast could he hurt or kill himself from pulling to hard in the opposite direction. Or would the allomancy account for this?
  10. Would it be logical to say that tapping large amounts of zinc would slow ones perception of time while storing a large amount of zinc would speed up the perception of time? Because the increased mental speed would allow increased perception slowing how everything passes while conversely the storing would decrease the total perception causing things to seem faster. Like how time is agonizing when you are watching the clock but flys when you daydream.
  11. Thanks guys. I'm writing a fanfic with an Iron/Zinc Twinborn and I was thinking how to write him anchoring himself to the faces of skyscrapers without him breaking windows.
  12. Is it possible for an Lurcher to modulate the strength of his pull or is it like just an on off switch.
  13. I'm actually writing a fanfic from the point of view of a Zinc Compounder. You guys had it pretty much how Ive done it. He seems a lot faster but only because his reaction time is amazing. He sees everything slowed down but like you guys said he is slowed like everyone else. The real benefit is the precision it grants. Because of the Zinc all of his movements are just enough, not too much or too little. So he appears slightly faster and his movement is very smooth and precise, which would be pretty useful in combat.
  14. I have a question. What if a Brass/Zinc Twinborn were to store mental speed in some Zinc, then take that Zinc and forge it into Brass and then Burn it? What would happen. Would he get a charge from it? Would the charge dissipate due to the Alloying? Anybody have any ideas?
  15. Here is one that I feel better about, even though it doesnt hold perfectly to the ketek format as far as smaller words and some order Within the shadow of the soul/ as rage cools/ to sad depression/ sadness cooling rage/ the soul of shadow within. And Here are two more that I just wrote I think are better. The more I write these the more it seems my mind can wrap around them, and phrase better ideas in a Ketek friendly fashion. Uncontrolled fury/ fueling action/angered action/fueling fury/ uncontrollably Beating battles dance/ arise Radiant Knights/ calling Honor’s call/ Knights Radiant arising/ dancing battles beat.
