  1. Moash admitted to himself that he wasn't sorry for killing Teft. That's the biggest condemnation possible, he doesn't want to be better, he just wants to do whatever and not feel any of the consequences. The fundamental difference between Moash and Dalinar is one of them acknowledged their errors.
  2. We're repeatedly told that they're way stronger than our cast in a direct pushing competition or other applications of Allomancy, but why? Hemalurgy loses some power when transferring, did they have two spikes of the same type? It wouldn't be that they just stole from people in the past while the arts were less dilluted, since they'd have to compound atium to live long enough for that to be feasible.
  3. Say you are in Telsins shoes, you have any number of Set-faitful single Metalborn at your disposal and you need to create the perfect Anti-Wax or Anti-Wayne. What spikes do you give them? What natural power do you start with? Dumad, or Anti-Wax, had 4 spikes (outside of the Trellium spike) so let us assume that's the limit before we become afraid they'd be able to challenge us.
  4. Provided the problem of moving Radiants off-world is solved as some passages have hinted to -- I'm giving a rather strong edge to Roshar. They are experts on war and have far superior combat magic, the technological difference is also quickly closing thanks to fabrials. The one big thing Scadrial has going for them right now are the Harmonium - Bavadinium bombs.
  5. Perhaps. It would just be a rather odd portrayal choice from Brandon to highlight a singular spike like that if there were more. Wax later also isn't sure what the warm sensation in the water is, he isn't certain he's burning pewter. If he had spiked himself that way he would know what he was doing, no? "As the water grew more choppy Wax had to struggle harder, he forced through pain grief and fatigue to keep himself, barely, afloat. He burned his steel, then... something else. Something deep which that kept him warm." -Chapter 72 I'm leaning rather heavily towards him actually having inhaled some Lerasium dust between all the circumstantial evidence, the single spike reveal and Wax not knowing he was burning pewter..
  6. Did he? The spike reveal only mentions one spike. Unless the pewter spike was mentioned elsewhere and I missed it. "Dawnshot flung wide his mistcoat, revealing what had been obscured before. A large metal spike potruding from his lower chest, where it had been pounded right through his clothing to pierce him directly between two ribs." -Chapter 69 (Nice)
  7. Wax is certainly Mistborn, he was effectively confirmed to be burning pewter in the water and there were numerous events previously where he must've unconsciously burned another metal. Tin to pierce the mists, iron to attract the vial, etc. Agree that the first 15 vials were just prepared with all allomantically relevant metals.
  8. ....be alive by Era 3, one way or another?
  9. It was said spikes wouldn't take to Kelsier 'as he is now', seems they straight up just don't transfer their abilities outside of the eyespike that staples him to the body.
  10. They have genders as human perception warped them that way, just as ancient spren have/had 4 for similar reasons due to different primary influencers. OB, Chapter 7. So they're malleable, at least at some point.
  11. Ishar is up there He has access to what is effectively freeform hemalurgy without the drawbacks and extras, has intricate knowledge of the magic system that is Surgebinding, that Odium thinks has so much potential he wants to use it before the other Shards get too much of a whiff of it, and has seen it rend apart an entire planet. He's scary. Particularly if his mind starts working again there's very little he cannot do or become.
  12. Cutting down to 5 is hard, so I'll cheat, probably changes depending on the time of day when you ask me too haha. 1. Dalinar 2. Kelsier 3. Vasher/Lightsong 4. Pattern/Nightblood 5. Adolin
  13. Shallan, to me, is just incredibly frustrating to read. Hard to actually put my finger on it so I'll try to form my thoughts as I go here, but I've seen the sentiment mirrored quite a few times now. Critiquing her is hard without tackling mental illness as her condition and way of coping is a core aspect of her character, which makes it doubly hard as its an incredibly sensitive topic and offending anyone is the last of my intentions but here we go, I don't find myself interested in whatever Shallan does but what happens -around- her and I feel that's due to the inconsistency of her character which, while intentional, makes it hard for me to care about her development. For one, I actually enjoy her jokes even if they sometimes fall flat because it's something I can use to identify her. Her preferred way of coping by simply ignoring, or trying to ignore, problems is also deeply frustrating to me. That probably stems from the fact its a learned, repeated behavior she defaults to that builds on itself, making it more annoying each time she repeats it. A character that simply sidesteps issues is simply not a satisfying read, while her arc is in large part gathering herself in a way to do exactly that the frequency of shoving problems/trauma away is ruining any enjoyment I could have while reading her PoVs. I recently finished my reread of WoK through RoW and I actually quite enjoyed her in WoK and early WoR and is at her worst up from late WoR to RoW, at the end of which is where I found myself actually sort of cheering her on, so maybe Brandon will endear me to her yet.
  14. oh he's certainly not using any investiture from the blade, it's more about the manifestation of the bondsmith-specific way of using the surges it enables What's weird is that, you need Godspren to make Bondsmiths, to make these surges do special things, yes? Doesn't it stand to reason that the Bondsmith Honorblade has something extra to enable the same thing, then?
  15. well that's an interesting first question Least favorite? to read, , (loaded answer, with a bunch of nuance, that I won't go into here, yes. also Book 2 and 3, specifically.) because I'm supposed to dislike him?
