  1. I feel like people have kind of ignored this. But you’re right here, he’s constantly reusing plot elements, I suppose if you’ve written as many books in the same genre that he has then you are going to to have to retread at some points. I hope that this doesn’t become more of a problem in the space age cosmere.
  2. And you’ve got to remember Hoid would be this unassuming man who secretly turns out to be a renowned detective who follows the kids around, serves as a masculine role model for the boys and always make sure no one gets seriously injured.
  3. I think Lirin is great too. and I too absolutely despise Jasnah. I get what Brandon’s going for with her but she’s so insufferable at times, she needs to brought down a few rungs and then she’ll have to go to a greater effort to prove herself to the high princes and that could be interesting. But instead we get this weird feminist power fantasy of a character, I want to love Jasnah rest of fan base but I’ll think we’ll have to wait till she gets her own focus novel. (I think that’s book ten, can’t be sure though.) So Brandon can flesh her out and make her more three dimensional.
  4. For me it’s Ake it’s just such a cool star pattern.
  5. They must have advanced a lot since when we first see them in Elantris, there is no way of knowing.
  6. Honestly I might do a poll on this if someone hasn’t already.
  7. Mate did you not already know? The cosmere is just an extended Thom Merrilyn backstory.
  8. I wouldn’t worry too much he’s got an interesting worldview and certainly doesn’t come across as a stereotypical Mormon. I’m sure he’ll fairly represent atheism and religon.
  9. 1. Yes it’s the most fun definitely the dialogue between wax and Wayne is awesome and I feel like Brandon struggled to carry it through to the latter two. It also feels inconsequential which is a welcome break for a cosmere book. 2. I wouldn’t agree until I finished Row recently I think her character work in that one was phenomenonal. 3. I agree but not by much. And if think it’s more reliant on the suffering Kaladin is going through in present. And it’s very well executed to, but conceptually it’s he weakest and certainly not that original by fantasy standards.
  10. Oh god I totally agree. It was like the second artist saw the first ones drawings and decided to go in the complete opposite direction. I feel like both are just two extremes on either side.
  11. It would be even higher. Remember Roshar has weaker gravity than most planets so the average Rosharans height might be even higher than on earth and thus he ceilings too would be higher even an extra half a metre for each floor could make an enormous difference on a whole. Just a thought.
