  1. I will lend Drake a shield made of the bodies of newbie elims, and my trusty Cloak of Inactivity. Use them wisely and sparingly for their cost is great.
  2. Very much agreed. I might take you up on that tomorrow. Hopefully with many people finishing up finals I can get some of those Spectators to switch to players.
  3. So, I don't really have a good answer to the idea of low player counts, though I do have one main thought that hasn't come up yet. The biggest problem with sub-9 player counts, is it's hard to rationalize 1 elim. It's too fragile and luck dependant, but multiple elims end the game too quickly. It's really hard to find a way to balance it. I happened to stumble across this episode of No Rolls Barred today, where they house rule Clue(do) into a mafia-esque game. It solves this problem fairly well, and worked just fine with only 5 players, which SE seems to always be able to find so far. (My game has 4, 5 if Araris didn't need to IM). That's a pretty good example, though other ideas would also be good. I'm tinkering with a Fused game where they can body hop unless certain items are used.
  4. Unless we somehow get 5+ more players by the end of today, this game is going to be delayed by one week til next Tuesday.
  5. I can run this game with only 10 Players, but it would be very role-light. 12+ would be ideal.
  6. All good, and remember, there's a decent chance it starts on the 10th, so you could be standard levels of activity for n1 onward, so pinch-hitting is a valid option.
  7. I think I would be interested in this, might actually have the time for once.
  8. The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning. Born below the ever cloud-capped peaks that gave the mountains their name, the wind blew east, out across the Sand Hills, once the shore of a great ocean, before the Breaking of the World. It gusted and twisted, blowing through the bustling city of Tar Valon. Through an unshuttered window in that shining White Tower, it twisted, carrying idle chatter, gossip, and whispers. Through hallways and into secluded closets, it brought silent secrets along with its currents. Promises and lies, schemes and untruths, along its currents traveled the plans of the Black Ajah. But there was no one to hear them. It was time again. With a Myrdraal at their side and a Forsaken for their commander, how could they fail? It was time to reduce Tar Valon to blood and bloody ashes. *** I, @The Unknown Ajah, formerly The Bald Brandon, TKN, and TUN, will be your GM. @TheRavenHasLanded will by my Co-GM. As of yet, I do not know my IM. I'm looking for a Co-GM, particularly for write-ups, so PM me if you're interested. If I don't get a Co-GM, the write-ups will probably be pretty sparse. I would also like to warn any potential players, this game is very RNG heavy, with the potential for swinginess. If you don't like RNG very much, this game probably isn't for you. This is a rerun of LG88, but the rules have been changed rather extensively, so you should definitely refresh your knowledge. You can find the rules here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RUs0JIvdKusLrELi6kEZs9LZUdpeXh-_GB8oW2c5ejA/edit?usp=drivesdk You can find the in-forum rules below. Participants: Sign-ups will end Tuesday, April 9th at 8:00 PM Mountain Time. The game will either begin shortly thereafter, or at 8:00 the next day, I'll tell you which I can do on Tuesday. Let's have a great centennial game!
  9. And some of us just start only posting on SE. It's kind of the old folks home of the shard. Lots of early joiners there.
  10. No, just the first one a couple times. Don't know if I'll read that one, but if I do it will be after the main trilogy. Honestly, Durzo is a bit of a disappointing character for me. Interesting that it's polarizing, I've only really heard negatives, but I do enjoy Lightbringer's so hopefully I'll enjoy this one as well.
  11. Finished A Little Hatred. Abercrombie has a tendency to fake me put thinking I won't like it, only to fall in love by the end. Also, to those of you that think like Orso, I'm so sorry, I know that's how some people really think, and my heart goes out to them. Really a great character despite that. And I have a friend that is pretty much spot on for Leo, so everyone interacting with them is very relatable. Almost done with Shadow's Edge, it's better, but still not my favorite. Definitely think I'll read the third one though. I have enough faith in Brent Weeks. Started Dune, it feels like a walking headache, but it's a very interesting book, especially the second time through with more accurate expectations.
  12. First time through. Promised myself I'd make it all the way before reading EotW again, but it's hard.
  13. We'll certainly see, but they've all been the same level of plodding so far. I think the real slog is supposed to be 9-10 so I think I might be safe for a little while longer.
  14. I've finished the seventh I believe. Don't exactly remember but I think that's right.
  15. Rookie numbers. What's fun is when your library only gives e-loans for 14 days, which is not nearly enough time to read any fantasy novel. So you then have a rotation of three to four books you're halfway through listening 14 days worth at a time. Not to mention your ebook, physical book, and before sleeping book. I went on a road trip and have since reread Earth Unaware by Orson Scott Card and the Fires of Vengeance by Evan Winters, which are respectively a good book and a great sequel (that can never live up to the divinity of the first). I then started A Little Hatred by Joe Abercrombie. I'm not far in yet, but I very recently read Half a King, which was simply amazing. That, combined with the excellence of The First Law trilogy, leaves me very hopeful. On that road trip, I listened to part of WoR, but have since switched to Shadow's Edge by Brent Weeks. WoR is WoR, and Shadow's Edge is okay, but unimpressive. I'm hoping to get the next WoT book in when I make another trip next week, but we'll see. Depends what shows up from the library.
  16. Yar, we did it. Thank you @Sart for an amazing game, I really did love this ruleset. The explosive reactions were just the right touch. Thank you @Araris Valerian for stopping the fires we elims never saw. And thank you my lovely teammates, you have inherited a glorious tradition of victory, let's hope you don't stop playing like the last set. And thank you all the rest of you, for underestimating me once again. To the dead doc I go. Edit: Hah, you thought we couldn't pull it through d2, well think again me lovelies. Man, I forgot how much fun SE can be.
  17. ‘Twas I I did it, I did it all I was the one behind every trip and fall ‘Twas me who struck down TJ, I was the one who slaughtered Kas to silence his hearsay The time has come for the final hour For now I have all of you in my power So despite you surrounding me You have already failed to contend with us three My compatriots in lies Feed them to the flies It is time for every last one of you to DIE! Vote, why would I vote? You so kindly did that for me.
  18. Would be even better with a four man team. TBB T(J) B(ee) B(arron)
  19. Why did you have to say that. Triggering the paranoid part of my brain (the whole of it basically)
  20. Is a Raven/2 Newbies team that improbable for missing a kill? Something that can help @Amanuensis decision as well, I grabbed the Midnight spore last night. I want to try to find the elim kill tonight. I currently have it on my top suspect, but I'm very open to other suggestions. I figure I can randomly select from a pool who to check.
  21. My thoughts are that I personally would like to not die. I think I am very solvable right now. E!TKN doesn't get involved as much I have this game. Kas has a few others I've seen, but that’s my main point of contention. I think you should probably be shooting into that low info/activity bunch, Hairy, JNV (well, not JNV cause of Kas), Aeter, Raven, maybe Royal. I'm actually curious why you seem to be so ok with this @Kasimir, you've been reading me village so far as I can yell for a while now, and more strongly than I'm used to.
