  1. Normally, my username has "Poet" in it which goes back to the first gamertag for the xbox I've ever used. It's evolved from there always including "Poet". The latest rendition is A Fallible Poet which I've kept for longer than anything else. But I've really come to like simply "Fallible" because it says something about my outlook on life. Though I can never be perfect and will always mess up, I can always strive to be the best and succeed in whatever I pursue in life. It's why I love the last part of The First Ideal by the Knights Radiants, "...journey before destination."
  2. RJ fan first, and like so many on here, went out and picked up Mistborn after hearing Brandon was chosen to finish WoT. I devoured the trilogy. I didn't start reading WoT until right after PoD was released. I'm really excited to be a part of Brandon's community so early in his career and watch was he perfects his craft.
  3. I also wouldn't want to see new novels. I'll even go further and say that I wouldn't want to see even Brandon do anymore, although I agree that he would be the only one to do them well. RJ had it in his will that whoever wrote in his world would be subject to getting their kneecaps smashed. He was even leery of having someone finishing WoT, but decided he owed it to his fans to have it finished after he passed. If more novels were written it would be disrespectful to a wonderful man's legacy. As for the ideas and notes you speak of, I'm sure there's going to be a plethora of information in the Encyclopedia they plan on releasing with RJ's notes and even the two sentences he had written down concerning the Outriggers he planned. I'm looking forward to a lot of RAFOs being answered!
  4. @Rubix Yeah, Sharder is frakkin' awesome. Glad to be one! What's up, George? Even though I'm new also, welcome! I was most certainly impressed with his handling of Egewene and Rand. Yet, he did the best with Perrin's voice (who, tied with Egwene, is my favorite character from the Two Rivers folk). That one he nailed. I don't want to say much more than that as I don't want to spoil anything if you've only finished TGS. If you're further than that I'd be happy to discuss it in the WOT section. See ya around!
  5. I haven't read through the whole thread, but the few pages I have seen no one's mentioned CoD? Well, I've recently gone back to playing a lot of Modern Warfare 2 on the 360. Really enjoying it. A heck of a lot more than the new CoDs. If anyone plays, my GT is A Fallible Poet. My brother and I are always open for others to join on us in our ownage!
  6. Thanks for the welcome guys! What kind of Krispy Kreme do you like? When I can tell myself I won't feel guilty about it I'll pick myself up some chocolate covered custard filled goodness! Sharders? Is that the official name of Brandon fans? I like it! And I would love to be a part of a get together like that. I'll be attending Aberystwyth Uni. Did he stop in Wales at all last time he toured over there? Cardiff or Swansea?
  7. I second the former point. The BICHOK podcast really changed my outlook on writing. I always sat down to write when that moment of inspiration would strike, and if I wasn't "feeling it" I wouldn't write. This, episode, well, took away that excuse, so I had to do as I was told and go write!
  8. I think that's the first time I read a Terms and Conditions in its entirety, and the first time I've laughed while reading one. Would someone let me know what day next week my soul is supposed to be sold? And a bagel? I think my soul is worth at least a Krispy Kreme donut! Hello, 17th Shard! I've been a fan of Brandon's since I heard he was finishing WoT. I thought, They're picking a guy who's name I hadn't even heard of, to finish Wheel of Time?! So I promptly picked up Mistborn, very nervous as I started reading. By the end of it I was very confident Brandon would do right by the series, and as I learned more and more about him, I knew he could be the only author to finish it. And he hasn't disappointed on that front. On top of his WoT books, the Mistborn Trilogy + Allow of Law, I've only read WoK. Elantris and Warbreaker are next on the list. Now a little about myself. I'm 24, real names Aaron, and currently reside just south of Louisville, KY. I was extremely upset I couldn't get off work to attend Brandon's signing in Lexington! I'm biding my time here, working as much as I can as I head off to University in Wales come September. I believe Brandon is planning on touring in the UK in November, so I hope to finally meet him over there when he does. Well, I'm looking forward to becoming a part of this community. I was a lurker on Dragonmount for years (can't remember if I even posted once). They were too argumentative for me. Everyone here seems extremely laid back and just plain nice. Despite to spikes slammed into eyes thing. :)/>
