  1. Its not hard to see biblical references in the Steelheart book. For example, David's name recounts the story of David and Goliath, where a young man has to fight a being much larger and stronger than himself. He succeeds with God's help. I believe that Steelheart and Prof. are two sides of the same coin. I believe they represent the good and the bad of God. Steelheart has immense control of the world around him. He can transform an entire city to steel just to show off. He commands not only respect but fear. He stays hidden, rarely appearing unless it's to smite someone from the sky. Prof., on the other hand, can be seen working miracles, like healing, protecting, and turning steel to dust. As if the similarities to a certain son of God weren't obvious already, he has a resurrection near the end of the book, dying and being "reborn" as an epic. What do you guys think of this theory? Any other religious symbols or allusions I missed?
  2. If there was a Reckoners movie series confirmed, what would your dream cast be? I only have a preference for one: Liam Neeson as Prof/Jonathan Phaedrus/Limelight. I can very easily imagine Liam standing in Prof's place.
  3. We all know that when an epic uses their powers, they become consumed by darkness. This darkness makes them go into psychosis (seen in the initial rampage when they get their powers), narcissistic personality disorder, and antisocial personality disorder. Also when larcener aka Calamity "steals" an epics powers, it is said that many of them are never the same, staring blankly, much like a lobotomy. That being said when they "claim" their abilities as their own, they become immune to the darkness as they are no longer connected to Calamity. Is this "claiming" also supposed to be a metaphor for something? Am I looking too deep into it? I just wanted to share my theory to see if anyone agrees/disagrees, or if they want to add anything.
