  1. So I don't have everything organized enough to make a full post but my major takeaways from the stream (spoilers for RoW & other cosmere books below): 1. Nightblood is not a Dawnshard. 2. The man with the red Aviar that was killed was a Feruchemist keeping watch over Dalinar. 3. Broken Radiant oaths before the Recreance didn't result in deadeyes. 4. Renarin has a tentative crush on Rlain (thanks to Adam for confirming!) 5. Historically there's never been more than three Bondsmiths at one time. He didn't say anything about the Bondsmiths being specifically bonded to the Stormfather, Nightwatcher, and Sibling, so there could've been other sentient spren that bonded (Ba-Ado-Mishram...maybe?). 6. There's something significant about how Tien's wooden horse and Wit's flute got to the shop at the end of RoW, but that isn't necessarily connected to the owner of said shop. and... (MB spoilers) I'm so happy that he did this! This was my first Sanderson livestream & it was fun to see everyone's questions.
  2. In the livestream last night Brandon said that Nightblood was incapable of consuming a full Shard.
  3. I saw that everyone's comments referring to it were being deleted but I didn't make the connection until he said that haha
  4. I wasn't fully paying attention to the livestream until he said this and I dropped my phone
  5. Hey there! What's your favorite cosmere book/who's your favorite character? Glad you signed up!
  6. Me too! I just can't read it in my head as Mo-Ash.
  7. Maybe he'll reverse the process, like splitting one shard up into two vs. combining two shards into one.
  8. Wouldn't it be crazy if the last words of SA 1-5 were something along the lines of "Szeth-son-son Vallano, Truthless of Shinovar, wore white on the day he killed a king"? The entire first five books would be a ketek.
  9. Just an idea, but could she have maybe been a Bondsmith spren at one point? Or is that exclusive to The Stormfather, Nightwalker, and Sibling?
  10. That's a really good idea! If it isn't in the Spiritual Realm, I wonder where all that inert Investiture is.
  11. I love this theory! I can't wait to see if this plays out in the back 5.
  12. I thought it was interesting in RoW that Venli referred to Nomon as "Honor's Moon". Since Roshar has three moons, I figured that each corresponds to a different Shard in the system. So, Salas probably connects to Odium and Mishim to Cultivation. I double-checked on the Coppermind and found this: The colors of the moons all correspond to the colors of Investiture associated with the Shards as well (Voidlight, Stormlight, and Lifelight). My theory is that, as Investiture comes in three states of matter, the Shards' godmetals (solid) can be found on the moons. However, the Coppermind says that a lot of Investiture concentrated in one location tends to create a Perpendicularity, and I haven't found anything in the books that points to a moon being one. But is it possible to reach them through Shadesmar? Additionally, since the moons appear to be placed artificially, they could've been formed at the time that Honor, Cultivation, and Odium settled in the system. Sorry if someone's already thought of this!
  13. That'd be super interesting if that's the case.
  14. Why would it be beneficial to give the Fused metalminds?
  15. I think the fact that swearing Radiant oaths in the vicinity of a Herald will temporarily restore their sanity is going to be important next book.
  16. Actually yeah that'd work much better, I was just worried it'd be too close to something like Devotion.
  17. Maybe Dalinar will take the aspect of Honor that handles Unity and Kaladin will take the other (leadership?). He's always referred to as Child/Son of Tanavast, so that seems important. Especially after what Moash said about Kaladin in RoW ("He is a force like the storms, and you cannot kill the storms") and Kaladin's title being Stormblessed... It'd be interesting if the first half of SA ends with the split of one Shard into two to reflect MB Era 1 ending with two Shards combining into one.
  18. I agree. However, the Shard is definitely Splintered. I might be wrong, but its Investiture is still present with no direction, right? So that's why it's considered "dead" right now, with just little bits of Investiture getting into the Physical Realm through Stormlight, highstorms, and spren. I also think that Notum saying "Honor is not dead so long as he lives in the hearts of men" will have later significance, especially since the honorspren got so angry as a response. Perception has an impact on Investiture, after all. What I thought was interesting was the difference between Ambition/Devotion/Dominion's Splinterings and Honor's. Aren't the Shattering of Shards supposed to have extremely destructive effects on the planets/systems they're Invested in? Something about the Shard's power being too intense w/o a Vessel? The Evil on Threnody could be a result of Ambition's Investiture going haywire on the planet post-Splinter. The Dor is also supposed to be dangerous and volatile because it's the remnants of Devotion and Dominion's power trapped in the Cognitive Realm. So I think the difference between the events was that at the time of Honor's Splintering, Tanavast could've had most of the Shard's power in the Spiritual Realm. My theory is that Cultivation is grooming Dalinar to take up the remnants of Honor's Shard. This might be premature, but maybe the contest of champions in SA5 will take place during a highstorm and culminate in Dalinar reaching into the Spiritual Realm and harnessing all of Honor's Investiture. Coupled with the WoB that said Splintering can be reversed I think this is possible. Additionally, the contest's location being on the top of Urithuru makes it the best place to come into contact with all that Investiture. However, I think that in Dalinar's hands the Shard would turn into Unity, much like how Ruin & Preservation became Harmony and Odium in Taravangian's hands might end up being Passion. We have that scene in OB to go by, with Dalinar opening Honor's Perpendicularity and calling himself Unity. I also think it would be a great way to close the first arc of SA.
  19. I was thinking about what Unmade would tie to each order and came up with these so far: Nergaoul was trapped in a ruby so maybe tied to Dustbringers? (the Thrill is all about losing control, Dustbringer Oaths center around control; Order's polestone is a ruby) Moelach= Truthwatchers? (both deal with futuresight, even if it's unique to Renarin, but the difference is that Truthwatchers heal while Moelach brings Death Rattles) Ashertmarn= Elsecallers (Ashertmarn is all about debauchery, excess, and mindless indulgence, while Elsecallers' Divine Attributes are Wise and Careful?) I'm not exactly sure about this one though Re-Shepir= Lightweavers ("Her primary ability is to spawn the Midnight Essence, a type of spren that takes the form of creatures and people they see around them and try to understand humankind by mimicking them." - Coppermind) Lightweavers make illusions, Re-Shepir makes illusions, etc. I think I remember seeing a WoB that the connection between Orders and the Unmade was more nebulous than straightforward, but I'd have to look.
  20. Elsecallers' oaths are centered on reaching one's full potential and self-improvement, so maybe that's why they're internal, while Willshapers are focused on freedom of choice and expression for all, hence external. I can see how that would work, especially when thinking about this Coppermind quote: So inner freedom to reach one's potential (Elsecallers) vs. external freedom and helping others reach theirs (Willshapers)? The fact that both Orders were considered to be the most welcoming of the ten ties them together, too.
  21. Is Wildlight the working title for Lifelight + Voidlight? Because that's perfect
  22. That'd be super cool, but it's "Eila", not Elia
  23. The idea that Sixteen is Scadrian (even Northern or Southern) works even more when you consider that the number sixteen has significance on the planet, too, since Preservation maybe modeled the sixteen metals from Ado..
  24. Are there any known Pulsers besides Marasi at this point? If SA 1-5 takes place before MB Era 2 Sixteen would be easy to spot in the books.
  25. How was she cosmere-aware?
