  1. Like Feruchemy storing being a discrete process with hour long quanta, instead of a continuous process able to be turned on and off whenever? That makes sense.

    Marsh

That would be an excellent explanation for why Marsh got both Allo and Feru Atuim spikes from Ruin. There might even have been a spike for Feruchemical Nicrosil as well to give him even more time to look. I would say that one of the reasons Saze would have for giving marsh the Atium he needs to live for a long time is to keep in balance, remember that there's more Preservation in people than there is Ruin, so if Saze wants to keep in balance he needs to get rid of some of ruin's power. Giving atium to Marsh seems to kill two birds with one stone, as it were.
  3. I noticed that as well. In fact, it said that for all the "enhancement" metals even though I can't really see either chromium or nicrosil being useful if they burn away instantly. I can see them burning really fast, but not going poof like Aluminum.
  4. One reason why Vin is so clingy to Elend is that he came back for her in the first book. Only two people came to save her when TLR captured her, Saze and Elend. That made a big impression on her, especially so soon after she found out that Reen actually spend his last moments protecting her at the cost of his life.
  5. I will again put forward the benefit of being able to use the metalminds of the feruchemist who the spike was made out of.
  6. I actually like "Drain" although it has the same problems as Flood.
  7. Because getting less out than you put in is Ruin's shtick! Ruin shouldn't get 2 of the 3 magic systems on Scadrial!
  8. Hmm, you appear to be right. That's dumb and doesn't fit at all with how Feruchemy is described in the books at all. There is no mention of this in the books when anybody who is a Feruchemist exposits about Feruchemy. Infact I'm pretty sure Sazed expelitly says there is no energy loss when refering to storing mass in Well of Ascension, I'll have to re-read it again to be sure though.
  9. Except that in that example there is no loss of power when tapping a large ammount at once. The so called "diminishing" is an artifact of using percentages of your normal (not tapping, not storing) attribute as the unit of measure in the example, not any actual loss of the attribute during transfer. The math in that example works out to conservation, not loss.
  10. That doest work if you go with the "no energy loss when tapping for a lot" route though. Which I do. The only benefit I can see is being able to use the metalminds of the slaughtered Feruchemist.
  11. The so called "diminishing returns" in Feruchemy in that explanation aren't really diminishing at all. It's an artifact of how you can't actually store 100% of any given atribute for any given time period without significant and sometimes fatal complications.
  12. I can't remember Miles' actual last name atm, but I remember he had one. I think it started with a "d".
  13. This is as hilarious as your usual fare WalkerBoh. Welcome to these forums!
  14. Might just have been bank notes overlaying a gold or silver standard.
  15. I recall that they got deflected both ways.
