  1. I’m not suggesting a full long term perpendicularity, but something small for a very short time like Elsecallers use seems plausible to me. Also, though most Sand Masters aren’t going to be NEAR enough for this, Baon with a very small amount of sand made a huge amount of light compared to anything else Sand Masters have done, so multiple people in that level with significantly more control and sand might be able to do it.
  2. On how you would transition between Realms easily, I think in most cases it's going to be very difficult, and planets will just steal stuff. For Taldain specifically, we know that when you put water on charged sand there is Realmic transition, and also Sand Masters control this with a Cognitive bond (I have no clue what that means because all Connection is Spiritual), so maybe if you sustain that transition for a long time with enough power you can open a perpendicularity?
  3. She probably is, given that Warbreaker happened several generations before Stormlight and she looks about the same (though the Royal Locks can let her alter her apparent age so she could be 90 and healthy because of Breath I guess)
  4. There's been some debate as to if weird time dilation stuff would mess with Shadesmar travel going FTL, and even if they experienced it as a few weeks it would actually be years, but moving faster in the Cognitive wouldn't actually solve that issue, so if you can break FTL one way you could break it the other imo.
  5. This pretty strongly implies to me that walking in Shadesmar is FTL. The reason Adolin, Shallan and Kaladin don't go FTL is because not all of Shadesmar is compressed the same amount, and even a space ship travelling the path they took wouldn't have reached FTL, because they were moving the exact same distance that a person in the Physical would.
  6. We don't know how medallion creation works, it could easily involve Hemalurgy, especially with a name like Excisors (but there's no way that people are just taking the power, killing the previous user, and putting it in the medallion, because that doesn't help the issue of not having enough metalborn).
  7. Right, but we know for a fact that friction is an issue from this
  8. Questioner Could you rewrite Elantris to make Allomancers? Brandon Sanderson Could you rewrite Elantris to make Allomancers. If you really knew what you were doing, could you create a program? Questioner Right. Brandon Sanderson It would be way easier with Forging and even that would be really hard. I could see you imitating the powers the right way, that you could end up with something that was functionally the same. It just wouldn't be an Allomancer. I assume the difficulty is that you would need to supply the extra Investiture
  9. On Connection and Identity, I feel like Identity has to involve Connection, after what we learned in RoW. If people have Connections to time and space, and knowing the same thing counts as a Connection, and language does, and friendships do, and what other people think about you do, I feel like ownership of a metalmind or an object's state of who owns it and what people think about it also do.
  10. My understanding was that it was like Shardblades but the spren didn’t move from the person’s body, they just sat there.
  11. Not sure if anyone has brought this up yet but I think it's entirely impossible to tap aluminum metalminds, just based off how we know it works. Aluminum in Feruchemy is described as removing powers, not stealing them, and there's never any description given at all as to what tapping aluminum does. It's Investiture inert, so my assumption is that it acts as a sink more than an actual storage of Investiture.
