  1. (Just throwing in here that I just finished reading Aux's sacrifice and it's left me crying. What a powerful scene! )
  2. Venli is still able to look into Shadesmar during RoW. How is this possible, does anyone know? Shouldn't that Surge have been switched off too?
  3. Ah, would be great if something like it was possible, but thanks all of you for your replies and clarifications! Anyway, looking forward to Adolin-Maya magic to evolve in exciting ways!!
  4. Not an expert in Cosmere/Connection stuff by any means, but something in RoW sparked curiosity: In my opinion, Adolin is personally suited to Stonewards (team dynamics, being there for those who need them) and not so much Edgedancers (being there for the common folk). If Maya did not exist, he may have attracted a peakspren already? Also, I was just reading RoW for the second time and stumbled upon these 3 Adolin thoughts italicized in Chapter 35 as he fought the Tukari off with Maya alongside him, and Brandon's italicizing seems suspicious to me: 1. Never underestimate the strength of a soldier trained to stand fast. 2. Never underestimate the simple intimidating force of a man who won't back down. 3. Never underestimate the worth of being willing to hold. Your. GROUND. Do these sound suspiciously like Oaths? I have noticed Brandon previously italicizing Oaths. Especially the first one which sounds very similar to what Coppermind thinks will be a Stoneward second Ideal! Has Adolin already sworn his Stoneward Ideals, but no peakspren around obviously, but do you think Maya somehow accepted these (they can sense each other's thoughts/feelings) and What decided that cultuvationspren would be Edgedancer spren and peakspren be Stoneward spren? Could Maya and Adolin be making a cultivationspren Stoneward???
  5. Thanks everyone! So in summary, Zahel is both more experienced and more heightened, and had the opportunity to be in an isolated space in the quoted excerpt. Presumably Azure could have seen Syl too but may have mistakenly thought she was just a tad more bright windspren or something.
  6. The above excerpt from Rhythm of War where Kaladin goes to Zahel for advice shows that Zahel is able to see Syl. Earlier in Oathbringer when Kaladin is in Azure's Wall Guard and Syl flits about him, Azure doesn't seem to notice the honorspren (and I am assuming she knows what they look like because she's been to Shadesmar before) flitting about close to Kaladin. Why is that? So does Zahel's ability to see Syl have more to do with the fact that he's Returned? How so?
  7. Oh nice! Can't wait to see some Parshuman baby sometime during this Desolation! Thanks!!
  8. And by extension: Do we know if this is possible firstly, and secondly did anyone try? And say this is possible, would we have a possibility of a human looking baby that had forms?? How cool!!! A lighteyed warform Alethi that hums too much!
  9. Thanks everyone! A wealth of information, TIL!! Has anyone wondered if killing/deadeyeing the Stormfather would bring about the end of the Knights Radiant and let Odium's forces to win? Is that a possibility?
  10. Nice! Okay follow-up question: Do we know what other species from Ashyn came over with the humans to Roshar? Like dogs perhaps? Why haven't any other soft skinned species of animal/birds popularised around Roshar like the horses?
  11. I can't help thinking that mostly everything originating in Roshar itself has hard skin/carapace etc, likely a result of generations of adapting to the highstorms. So it seems to me that horses/Ryshadium should be from another planet. Ashyn perhaps? Or somewhere else, like Hoid's home planet?
  12. I hope this is where we're supposed to post questions!! Onto the question:- In Words of Radiance, Shallan has stormlight in spheres packed in Jasnah's trunk seemingly all through her journey to the Shattered Plains. She uses it too, but her injured feet don't heal. Why is that?
  13. Ahh, sadly. So what would have happened, say, to someone who had theoretically bonded an Adonalsium spren? They would have suddenly found themselves losing 8 surges, is that right? @Quantus Edit: So the Sibling is a spren half-Honor and half-Cultivation, right? Maybe Adonalsium-spren bonding might work the same?
  14. Referring to this discussion - https://wob.coppermind.net/events/168-steelheart-seattle-signing/#e10563 Do we know of any hints of such a bonding? If so, does anyone know what kind of powers they might have? For example, would they have all the surges? Quoting
  15. (Apologies if I'm not using the right Cosmere terminologies, I'm pretty new to the Cosmere!) Are there planets out there in the Cosmere which have not been Invested by Shards, where humans live as they used to before and during the Shattering of Adonalsium? (I mean specifically, descendants of humans that lived during the Shattering of Adonalsium, or humans that witnessed the Shattering of Adonalsium) Would their religions speak of Adonalsium, perhaps? Would these humans be able to perform magic? How would they power their magics without the power of any Shard to fuel it?
  16. Oh is it? Then a lot more of that final battle makes sense to me! Thank you @Dunkum!! I have a sort of follow up question. Given that a Duralumin Push or Pull is much stronger, could it potentially affect the metals within the body of an Allomancer? As in, rip an Allomancer apart?
  17. Isn't it supposed to be impossible to Push or Pull on metals that are in contact with flesh? That is why So how does this Push work?
  18. Agreed with that Weltall! :-) Also, thank you guys, all of you, for the warm welcome!
  19. Okay I can accept that answer, if only for the fact that Brandon Sanderson needs to further the plots.
  20. Hi Guys! The newest member of the 17th Shard, at your service. So I was re-reading Mistborn Arc 1, and I found something strange. Maybe it's just that I haven't noticed/realised why it's perfectly valid, so humor me please! When someone burns Tin, their physical senses are enhanced - they can see clearer, hear lower volumes, etc. Within a Coppercloud, all usage of Allomancy is hidden - nobody can feel anyone give Allomantic pulses. I assume this doesn't apply to anyone being able to discern conversation within a Coppercloud, right? A Tineye should be able to hear things going on within a Coppercloud. How do our main characters get away with some of their plotting?
