  1. It's in Chapter 108 from Oathbringer, it comes up between a conversation between Notum and Kaladin. The spren captain explains to Kaladin that honorspren were created by Honor himself, but apparently sometime before Honor's death, he stopped doing so and instructed the Stormfather to create the honorspren instead. Notum's line in the book goes: "The Stormfather created only a handful of children. All of these, save Sylphrena, were destroyed in the Recreance." So Syl is explicitly stated as Stormfather's creation. Post-recreance, though the Stormfather was devastated by the loss, he was still tasked to create spren, so you weren't wrong about the 10 Honorspren. It just so happened that the only difference between these 10 and Sylphrena is that Syl is from before the Recreance. Origin wise, they all came from the Stormfather.
  2. I believe I've said it in another thread as well, but I've always assumed the popular consensus for this death rattle was the battle at the Tower in Way of Kings. It fits incredibly well with Kaladin's swearing of the first oath "life before death, strength before weakens, journey before destination." Fallen title - the fallen title of the Knights Radiant (since their reputation had been tarnished for years) The tower, the crown - House Kholin glyph pair representing him saving Dalinar, Adolin, and the rest of the Kholin army The spear - Kaladin choosing to stand up and fight (since he was gravely wounded, left at the sidelines to watch his men rush in to attempt to save the Kholins) and quite literally grabbing a spear from the ground on his way to jump in the fray
  3. I was under the impression that this death rattle "He must pick it up, the fallen title! The tower, the crown, and the spear!"was referring to the battle at the Tower in Way Of Kings. I had thought that to be the popular consensus. It fits well to me. It refers to Kal's swearing of the first oath I believe ? Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination. When he was lying down from his wounds watching his men being slaughtered in the effort to hold the bridge for the Kholin soldiers, he swore the first oath and fought his way to the Parshendis. Fallen title in this case would have referred to the fallen title of the Knight Radiants, tower and crown for the Kholin family crest, and spear for Kaladin's weapon of choice (which he had literally picked up) when attacking the Parshendi.
  4. I personally don't think it would be Kaladin either since he seems to be the obvious choice. The same way how I don't think Dalinar will become Honor since it seems the obvious choice as well. I still think Kaladin has an important/siginificant role to the story, however. There's more to him with all the Child of Tanavast business. This interlude gives us so much new info, yet in the grand scheme of things, there are still so many things we don't know. I can't wait to read the book.
  5. Thanks! Honestly, I'm not much of a decisive person when it comes to favourites The three SA books are currently head to head. I enjoyed TWoK a lot. There were parts of WoR and OB that I was frustrated with, but the highest points (aka my fave parts) in those books are also crazy high. Probably alternating between TWoK and WoR depending on the day. OB is pretty much close behind though.
  6. Hi, I guess? After spending a good 5 mins contemplating, I'm here to introduce myself. I've been visiting this site since late last year, but just decided to join now (not that it's going to change much since I doubt I'd be posting and commenting a lot - I just really enjoy reading and following discourse among fans). So far I've only read SA and Warbreaker (all of which I read last year during summer), but am quite familiar with Brandon's other books (I'm not too against spoilers, so ...). Otherwise, I've been busy with schoolwork, but since it's quarantine, I've decided to finally read Mistborn. Though, I haven't gone past page 1 since I've kinda hit a slump (due to current events, I presume) so I currently lack motivation to do so. Other than reading, I do enjoy doing arts and watching shows, movies, or documentaries. Anyways, looking forward to reading more posts/topics in this site!
