  1. Marie smiled, Vivi was definitely not a child That or she's very good at faking. Peres noted Her smile faded when Vivi mentioned not going to school anymore "Did something happen?" she asked "I'm a first a first Oath Willshaper, I can teleport, peer into the cognitive realm and go there, I can also shape most matter as if it was clay." she half-drew her sword "And that blade isn't for show." She posed a second a second before continuing "Do you currently hear anything from me?" She'd heard some investiture detector had trouble detecting people using Transportation to just peer into the cognitve and wondered if it was the case of Peres. The senses of a windwhisperer are slightly better than these of a secretspren you know.
  2. "Hello Vivi, I'm Marie. Excuse me, but are you a kid or do you just look like one?" She asked Very smooth Polaris noted Vivi picked up one of the cakes and put it in her backpack, presumably to feed a pet. Except the bag didn't contain a living mind. "Did you bring a pet?" A door slammed somewhere in the manor, startling the thief "That's just a door, what are you getting all jumpy for?"
  3. Marie entered the building, peering in the cognitive as she looked at the people already here. One man had a mind that shined a bit brighter than the rest and slightly distorted the colour around him in the physical Probably breaths. Polaris said I know. she answered Looked at the other, they hadn't anything obvious going on except... The soul of a girl one who looked like a thief felt wrong, as if some part had been precision-machined, she had never seen anything like this More importantly, is this a storming kid over there? It's the alleyverse so I'd give it 50/50 odds She walked to the table and said "Am I late?"
  4. Folorian, The Scholar's Guild "Yes, there are indeed words to be said. Oaths to be exact, each order have theirs." Folorian said " The first is always 'Life before Death, power before weakness, journey before destination.', though I suspect you alread said it. I cannot really help you with the next ones though, first because I do not know what Releasers say and second because knowing them isn't enough, you have to be ready to live them and they'll naturally come yo you when you're ready for that. Though I do know they're about responsibility and self-mastery. As far as power go, Releasers where mostly know for their fits of destructions, both their magnitude and their precision, but you should also be able to manipulate friction: deciding what stick to what and what slips as well as how much air slows you." He thought for a few seconds "Wait a minute I'll be right back." He came back with a map of the Alleycity and circle a few buildings in diverse places of the city. "As you might know, some people in the DA made a world-altering Forgery that went out a few days ago, there are places where things didn't go back the right way, transforming the buildings into messes that looks like they were designed by Maurits Escher, it would help the rebuilding process if they were not there. I circled a few that you should be able to destroy without any risk for the rest of the city." @Voidus@Sorana Dann, The Scholar's Guild "The procedure is rather simple, mostly you have to sign this" He gave her a paper on which was written "I, the undersigned, hereby pledge myself to the Guild of Scholars, and promise to strive to gather and spread knowledge throughout the Alleyverse and corresponding worlds. Signed, _______________" "We would also like to know what skill you have -both natural and magica. It's fine if you have none yet, we're here to learn after all" @Ookla the Nerdy
  5. I don't see what in your post is supposed to convice me that Adolin is Odium's champion Also, you accidently posted this twice
  6. Marie will be there, she's very genre blind.
  7. Folorian, the Scholar Guild "If you had promised to do some good in the city, to try to fix things. Where would you start? With something small like a ruin, or a bandit or a monster, or ignore all of that and focus on the big picture?" Temeria asked Release an infohazard about the fundamental about the lie that was reality to the whole city apparently. "I would focus on what I can do" he said "If I had an idea on how to solve the systemic issue, I would try it. If I knew how to heal some of the symptom, I would do that. I... I can give knowledge and attempt to give guidance to those who need it, so I do that." He paused for a second thoughtful, "How good are you at destruction? If there were two houses made of wood next too each other, would you be able to burn one without damaging the other? Are you able to manifest Ember as a Shardblade yet?" @Sorana ~~~~ Dann the Scholar Guild A tall man carrying a few papers walked to Sei Lu "Excuse me, are you the young woman looking to join our guild?" @NerdyAarakocra
  8. Didn't Shallan ask Pattern to go help Adolin?
  9. Folorian, the Scholar Guild Temeria. This felt like a name Folorian ought to know. Someone he'd met in the fake years of the Forgery perhaps? He stopped himself from answering 'everything' to her question about what was broken in the city. Before he could give her an actual answer he noticed she had changed her posture as to face someone else, he shifted he focus so he could see who that was just in time to hear a woman named Sei asking to join the Guild. Temeria reacted by showing impatience at her arrival, implying she was most likely not very advanced in her oaths. To be fair the very one-the-nose name her spren had should have been a clue Kerr, can you find someone to take care of this lady's admission? The spren immediately darted to a nearby room Folorian turned toward Sei "Ok, er... I have sent for someone who will take care about you" partially because I don't remember where are the paper in this reality "they'll be there in a few minutes" He turned back to Temeria and left Sei fully out of his focus "Ok, so, your question is more complicated than you seem to think and I'll have to ask you a few questions before I can answer yours. First, what kind of broken are you searching for? Is it physically broken, like a ruin that hasn't been properly removed? Is it systemicly broken, like poverty or corruption? Is it something else, like a group of bandit or a monster's nest?" he barely marked a pause "Actually, this is going to take some time, we should sit" he said, pointing in the approximate direction of where he knew chairs were @Sorana@NerdyAarakocra@Rushu42@18th Shard
  10. It's a subject Brandon has made up his mind on, the latest WoB say you can only burn spikes made with your own soul
  11. Folorian/Kerr - Scholar Guild Kerr was standing at the entrance of the scholar guild, watching for anyone who would open the door. Logically only the latter should happen but for some reason most people ignore the note saying not to knock. Like his Radiant he couldn't perceive or feel anything other than said hypothetical persons, luckily this included the feeling of boredom someone someone would normally feel after standing guard for... well he had no idea how long, could be hours, could be seconds. Probably wasn't days, someone would have entered the door by that time. Eventually someone knocked on the door. It was a woman, a young but grown one if Kerr understood anything about them. She had a few odd marking on her skins which didn't look like the tattoos he had knew some people had. Folorian, someone's at the door. He thought to his Radiant. Folorian immediately went to the door and greeted the newcomer "Er... Hello-welcome... How can the scholar guild help you?" @Sorana@NerdyAarakocra
  12. Folorian - The Alleyverse post "Is this about the Forgery?" Folorian asked. "I suppose so, yes," the man answered. "Among other things. For the past few millennia, I have been the Head of the Department of Testing and Analysis in the Dark Alleys, though there have been some lengthy leaves of absence in that time. I want to help advance the knowledge of the people of the city using what I have learned in that time. Spreading knowledge has ever been my goal, but the Alleys have slowly drifted away from that goal toward the insular acquisition of power and control. The Forgery is merely the latest example. I once made an oath to seek correct questions before seeking their answers, so I've come here, to the Scholar's Guild, and I hope that those here are interested in seeking those questions as well. To that end, I will share what I know about the Forgery and the Alleys. Whom should I speak with?" ... ... What? ... After taking a what he assumed had been a few seconds to take in the news that a millennia old member of one of the most dangerous organisations in the multiverse was casually offering them help "Er... I... " he took a deep breath "The guildmaster, Alanis Sheneth, is currently absent. I do not know where she is but I suppose she'll be back in a few hours?" he said, unable to see or hear Alanis was entering the building @Rushu42 @18th Shard
  13. Close call between Edgedancer or Lightweaver Skybreaker don't actually in an absolute truth about morality, they believe in following the law until they find something better
  14. NullBlade, the Metallurgic Emporium "It's quite alright, your savantism was much more urgent than mine." NullBlade answered, trying to act as if he had not noticed the offer to speak about those he had lost "I'm not even sure I'd remove it if I had a way to do so." He went back to drink his tea, simply enjoying the company of a friend, trying no to think about how he risked to lose her tonight "So, I suppose it's time I stop distracting you and leave you to finish your work" he said jokingly as he finished his cup @Ashbringer
  15. I currently don't have Vigil/post Vigil plans for Folorian so he is I think that part was only addressed to 18th because his character is already with Aln and Folorian at the Alleyverse post, considering the SG's building has been destroyed it's probably better to put your character's introduction either in the Vigil or in the SG's thread so it happens at a moment where the guild as at least partially rebuilt
  16. I feel this one would fit Wayne and Wax more, still funny though
  17. NullBlade, the Metallurgic Emporium NullBlade did not, in fact, know much about cognitive shadows, mostly the fact that most of that stable had been created by Shards. "Do you know what happen when two identical twins become epics?" He said as he started sipping some tea, "They end up sharing the same power and are able to feel when the other twin use their power. I'm told it's one of the worse pain a human can experience." He marked a pause, trying to keep the memory of mangled faces of Mene and Peres out of his mind "Many twins go to great length to even get a chance to solve this issue, I heard for Calamity Epics it often end up with a twin killing the other. I only know of one instance of twins really solving this issue, an accident during the procedure cost each each of them half of their skin" he traced a line in the middle of his body with his finger, "They had to be hospitalised years until they found someone able to heal them, and their power ended split up in two much weaker parts. They told me they had never regretted for even a moment." His voice trailed off. He marked a second pause to calm himself "I can't tell you whether you're doing the right thing, but I can definitely tell you that doing it isn't wrong." @Ashbringer
  18. NullBlade, The Metallurgic Emporium NullBlade had hoped Cassie's new skin somehow was the risky solution she'd mentioned in her note, obviously it was not. He accepted the cup she was handing him "May I know what this way is?" He said "More importantly, is there any way I can help you with it?" @Ashbringer
  19. NullBlade saw Cassandra standing before him, despite the lack of light appropriate for the hour he could feel something was wrong with her skin "Hello NullBlade. It's... quite a night." she said "Care for a drink?" "Yes, I would like one." he answered. We got closer to her hoping the wrongness he thought he was seeing would prove just a trick of the light. It did not. All of Cassadra's skin -at least all of what NullBlade could see- had become an orange metal, the same colour he remembered her harm being "Cassie, are you alright?" @Ashbringer
  20. In case anyone wanted to know, this is the Spanish city Folorian mentioned
  21. Folorian, The Alleyverse Post The Forgery unravelling was supposed to bring back memories, in the case of Folorian it seemed he was losing memories. Realising memories were missing wasn't easy as you also forgot that there once had been a memory there, in this case Folorian could remember things like joking with Aln about an event that had happened to them while on a travel but nothing about the event itself, or making an outpost for the guild in a certain city of Spain in every version of Earth because of something funny with its name as well as the fact he faced that joke on a daily basis but not what the name was. There were dozens of similar example spread out over the time he'd spent alongside Alanis, over the time she had told him wasn't real. It wasn't surprising he was losing them, after all they had come from the Forgery. What was more concerning was that they did not seem to be replaced by memories of real world. He wanted to believe this wasn't an issue, that his part of the Forgery was just unravelling in a different order than Alanis' one and new memories would eventually come, but he couldn't shake of the fear that nothing would come. His sense of vision went from inexistent to a barely perceptible -but existing- blur. He tried to look for something or someone that might be the cause, hoping what was affecting his bane didn't not affect it's other aspect too much. He noticed a man looking like Lifeless had entered the building The man spoke "Hello. I'm Xanas, formerly of the Dark Alleys. I'd like to help." Folorian breathed in some Stormlight at the mention of the DA "Is this about the Forgery?" he answered @18th Shard@Rushu42
  22. NullBlade, The Metallurgic Emporium NullBlade jolted awake, getting out of yet another nightmare It was the same nightmare as always: him reliving the last moments of his team, the last moments of his wife He stopped burning aluminium, hopping the feeling of Perfect embracing him from the past would help him calm down It didn't come. Had she missed that moment when watching from the past? Was this moment too far from her death for her to reach? He doubted it. He started burning again and walked toward the first floor, if he couldn't sleep he might as well go drink something @Ashbringer
