  1. I might be wrong, but I dont think flashback chapters are supposed to start until part 3 of RoW.
  2. In OB, Dalinar mentions that when he gave the Shin news of the Everstorm, they congratulated him. What if Gavilar or some other Sons of Honor member had contacted the Shin about bringing back the desolation, and so when the desolation returns, the Shin think that this is what Dalinar wants and are congratulating him for achieving the Sons of Honor's goal of bringing back the desolations.
  3. From Brandon's annotation on reddit saying that the next chapter is from somebody we haven't seen yet, I'm guessing that it is going to be Venli. The only other option would be Lirin.
  4. I don't think he has to reconcile with Kaladin to become a lightweaver but it would feel cheap if they never had a moment (maybe for his 3rd or 4th ideal?). I agree with whoever said it would be cool if Gaz saved Kaladin's life. I could also see Gaz being able to say something that helps Kaladin get of his funk/swear the 4th ideal. Maybe not something incredibly profound but coming from Gaz who used to be such a selfish person.
  5. My guess is that Ishnah is the one working with the Ghostbloods and she killed Ialai. Also I'm liking Shallan pov a lot better than in Oathbringer.
  6. Sorry if this the wrong place to ask this but does anybody know if we will be able to get the ebook from the amazon store (like normal) or will it only be available from Brandon's kickstarter?
  7. It doesn't seem like the fused gravitation works the same way as windrunner gravitation so it wouldn't surprise me if the way elsecallers and willshapers use transportation will be different than this.
  8. Syl teasing Kaladin was hilarious. Same with Lift falling as she got off the bridge. I can't wait to see Lift in the second arc. I feel like she is going to be a really important and powerful radiant warrior as she is practically growing up with surges.
  9. I don't see Brandon counting Syl as a character in the character groupings since she is pretty obviously going to be wherever Kaladin is. We know that Lift is with Kaladin in Hearthstone and she returns to Urithiru in her interlude pov (which Kaladin appears to have done as well per Syl's interlude), so I think it makes more sense that Lift is the 5th character in the primary arc. Even if she is not in the primary arc, she could also be the through-line interlude character, but I see her being in the primary arc as being more likely. Also, why isn't Renairin mentioned at all? I feel like he could make sense as a secondary character in the primary arc, hanging out with bridge 4.
  10. When Syl says that a bondsmith created a herald and that the bondsmith already had the power that immediately made think of Ishar. I just looked him up on the coppermind and under the Binder of Gods part it says that he "is sometimes described as having powers even before he came to be known as a herald" so I think it was Ishar who created the heralds. Also begs the question of where he got the power from? Was it something from Ashyn or did Ishar bond a spren. Nale says that he is the only one to join his own order, but maybe Nale just never knew or maybe Ishar was bonded but never joined the radiants because that would have been well before the beginning of the radiants. Also could be why the Sibling withdrew possibly? Maybe the sibling was his spren and he used the power from it to create the radiants and then undbonded it. And then when the radiants abonded their oaths that is why the sibling retreated because it was directly connected to oaths so the breaking of the oaths hurt it a lot. Sorry for the rambling I am excited.
  11. I wouldn't say that Lopen is a full windrunner, it is just that he is now a windrunner rather than just a windrunner squire since he bonded his own spren.
  12. I've always thought of the Skybreakers swearing to follow a code as more of a way to remove themselves from their own selfish desires than to remove their responsibility for their actions. They see humans as fallible and so they strive to follow a code so that they can be better people. I think the fact that the current Skybreakers blindly follow the law is the result of Nale's influence more so than being what the Skybreakers are actually supposed to stand for.
  13. Oathbringer Glasgow signing (Dec. 2, 2017) #2 Share Copy Play/Pause Hoidonalsium In that one long rejection of Odium, how many Oaths did Dalinar swear before merging the Realms? And is "I am Unity" the fifth. Brandon Sanderson No, that is not an Oath. He swore one ideal in that experience. Hoidonalsium Okay. How many Oaths is he on? Brandon Sanderson The number you think. So, he should have just finished three, right? Or maybe four. I'll have to go look. It's the number that you think it is. I'm not being sneaky on you. There's nothing sneaky there. He doesn't get armor, so I can't remember where he is... He should be at three. "Life before death." "I will unite instead of divide." "I will stand up each time I fall." Yeah, so he's done three. I just saw this WoB in the 5th ideal discussion. I thought Dalinar manifested proto-shardplate in his vision with Venli. Am I reading this WoB wrong or is Dalinar actually not going to get plate?
  14. Knights of Wonder, King of the Way, Killers of Honor side note: We all know Brando put you up to this @Ripheus23 so that we could brainstorm names for him.
  15. The singers that Kaladin finds after visiting his parents were in warform and I'm pretty sure Venli at one point notes a singer that is in scholarform, so it seems like they were just given various regular forms.
