    The Returned

Heya everyone, I was just wondering, once the Returned die a second time there is absolutely no way to bring them back, right? I just wanted to confirm because my friend who just got into Warbreaker asked me if Lightsong

    Moash's Knife

Hey guys, this question contains spoilers but I was thinking about it recently and I wanted some theories.
  3. I was kinda wondering if you could convince the Nightwatcher to grant you boons without the curses. I don't know if the Nightwatcher has that much control over her ability, but bonding with someone could make her more coherent, like it did with Syl (again, assuming she is a spren). Isn't the Stormfather only as coherent as he is because he has the Cognitive Shadow of Tanavast?
  4. Hmm, good point actually, there isn't anything holding women back when it comes to Investiture, and Brandon makes his female characters pretty badass. However, even if the Dakhor process is no problem for women, they might be prevented from doing it using the physical thing as an excuse. I mean, the way the Dakhor monks appear to people, it could be very easy to convince the Shu-Dereth women that the process is incredibly painful and dangerous and suppress their desire to do it.
  5. Err, pardon me, did I phrase that in the wrong way? I really didn't mean any offense. I was just thinking from a biological standpoint. I mean, women have smaller skeletons that have less bone mass and thus they're actually more prone to bone-related stresses and injuries such as fractures and the like.
  6. Bonding more than one spren could potentially be scary as hell. I mean, imagine if someone could bond both the Nightwatcher (assuming she is actually a spren) and the Stormfather, that would be insane.
  7. It's a good question, actually, even I was thinking that Shu-Dereth is pretty patriarchal. I feel like because the emperor, the Wyrn, is the sole ruler of the empire and he doesn't have a queen or some high ranking female authority in his "court", so to speak, the priesthood is also consequentially male dominated. Also, not meaning to be sexist, but because of women having a slightly more fragile constitution than men biologically, the processes used by the Dakhor monks would be much more difficult to endure for women.
  8. Heya everyone, So I'm an IB diploma student, I'm doing an extended essay on English. For this purpose, I have chosen Elantris, and I was brainstorming with my teacher about my research topic. So she's read some of it so far (she loves it btw), and she suggested I look at how it fits into the definition of a fairy tale. Now I did a bit of research about the elements of a fairy tale (not the typical things like happy endings and magic, but more) and found that it actually has a lot of fairy tale features to it. So I would appreciate some inputs on what you guys think about Elantris being somewhat of a fairy tale. Thanks a lot <3
