  1. Well, that is why it is a theory. But a theory isn't wrong until it is proven wrong, neither is it right. It is just a theory: A lot of theories reside in this fandom. Also, a fork as tines, not teeth.
  2. Ok, I know it is an ongoing joke that Reckoners isn't cosmere and that lots of people new to the fandom are making the mistake (I did so myself). I walked into all of this thinking most of Brandon's books were Cosmere and was told: "nope you're wrong". This kind of threw me off because I seriously thought that this was all connected. So I decided to do some research on the Coppermind, update myself on Investiture, Adonalism, shards, etc. AND I FOUND SOMETHING VERY INTERESTING. I BELIEVE RECKONERS COULD ACTUALLY BE COSMERE GUYS!!! There are sixteen shards (some think 17) and there are ten known shards. Upon actually pondering them I realized that many have opposites (i.e. Ruin vs Preservation, Honor vs Odium, Ambition vs Devotion) even just the definition of the words are opposing. So, upon this realization, I thought back to Calamity. In Calamity, when David is taken up to meet Calamity (who is someone else, yadda yadda yadda (Larcener)) Calamity tells him: "You refuse to see what your people are, once they get a little power," (Calamity, Sanderson 399). This shows that he sees them (at least to me) as somewhat easily controlled. He also calls this, "A terrible place," (Calamity, Sanderson 398) <= one example. Then, later, Calamity says: "I contain every power of the universe. Do you understand? They are all mine. I am what you call a High Epic a thousand times over," (Calamity, Sanderson 402). Calamity (or Larcener) sees himself very highly, sees nothing wrong with what he does (similar to Ruin and Odium). He sees himself as a god, and according to the Coppermind: "Adonalsium is generally regarded as a God, responsible for the creation of the Cosmere,[2][5] and it is sometimes referred to as the "power of creation." So if the shards do have opposites, Larcener could be the vessel of a shard. Something that has to do with Heteronomy or Subjection--which are the opposites of Autonomy. Autonomy wanting freedom, Subjection wanting control. IN THIS WAY RECKONERS COULD BE COSMERE.
  3. Ok, according to my research there are sixteen shards, but there are only ten known shards, correct? (Not including the 17th shard theory)
  4. Oh, it's fine, I really don't take offense that easily, I am just a writer and, um, like exclaiming things? Anyway, thanks for the heads up.
  5. It's cool, I feel we all may at some point. So what's your favorite quote?
  6. *takes deeper breath* I am sorry I am new here and a blind, idiot introvert who doesn't like outside places. Please forgive some my accidental misinformation!
  7. "Honor is dead. But I'll see what I can do..." -Kaladin Stormblessed, Words of Radiance, Sanderson "Sometimes the prize is not worth the costs. The means by which we achieve victory are as important as the victory itself," -Dalinar Kholin, Words of Radiance (if I remember correctly), -Sanderson Also, I appreciate things such as: "I am a stick." "Mmmm lies." "No mating!" and naturally all of David's analogies/metaphors.
  8. To answer the questions above, yes preferably cosmereish villains. But I am not anti-other fandoms so if you have others go ahead!
  9. Personally, mine are Sadeas, the Lord Ruler, and the Gyorn. On Sadeas: I haven't met a slimier villain yet! Lord Ruler: I like his humanity (in its own twisted way). Gyorn: I like the missionary sort of take, I have yet to read another villain with this sort of forboding religious context.
  10. While I love all characters, I do admit that Elend and Vin hold a special place in my heart. They helped me through some tough times. Kaladin, Shallan, and Dalinar are also at that level with me.
  11. I think Kell is just a very real person. He doesn't blend into any category. He lives off what knowledge he has. So, while he didn't know everything about Ruin VS. Preservation and such pressing matters, he knew the people were oppressed and hurt...and angry. He like using emotional allomancy more, so he used that to his advantage. Showing people and helping people see what the could become if the worked together and combined their strengths, which is no different then other rallying cries and inspirational speakers. And okay, I admit he was very eccentric in some things (but who isn't?) and he had a habit of pressing people forward. He did have a lot of ambition, but in the end, it turned out that is exactly what Scadrial needed to finally get that prophecy going (GO Sazed!). So I feel like he was just a man who saw a problem and decided to try and fix it. Because he saw no one else was, so why not he? Personally, I feel Kelsier is a very relatable and real character because he expresses no apparent devotion to either side in particular. He was ambitious and it turned out that was what Scadrial needed, ambition.
  12. This book was AMAZING. My dad actually introduced me to Brandon through this series and I just sort of DOVE STRAIGHT IN HEAD FIRST AND FINISHED STORMLIGHT BEFORE HIM AND SUCH. I was not expecting that ending! Just, goodness! I am pretty sure this was a book I started "nononononononononononoing" at, which means I loved it in the end.
  13. Here's my question on this subject. Did anyone else connect this to Great Britain (not now of course)? Being right-handed was considered correct etiquette in a way. Lefties were forced to use their right hand because that was what was expected. So eating, writing, (and so on) had to be done right-handed. I find Great Britain Culturally very interesting, so I made the connection early on, but I wondered if anyone else did.
  14. And a favorite book? That is an incredibly hard question. I love every book of his I have read so far. So.... Stormlight, Mistborn, Elantris, Reckoners, Rithmatist, reading Arcanum right now, planning on Warbreaker.
