Love the playful art style! And that composition... Gorgeous!
  2. I... I am distracted! I will tell you of these things of which you do not know. *sounds of fists, heavy-handed grappling, and possibly but definitely NOT a little bit of crying*
  3. Blast! I am revealed! The blogs, the shares, the retweets... the socialness of the media is seeping into my blood! It's an epidemic!
  4. I would second this. The Cosmere draws in many, but his work in general is simply excellent. And, welcome to the Shard!
  5. Only if it's cool. If it's lame, then no way.
  6. I was only adding my Twitter account to the thread. Was I not supposed to do so? I think my word choice may have confused my purpose in the post. I've never added my Twitter tag to this thread before. First time.
  7. @ArgenbWRITE Updates for my drafts that want to become books when they grow up!
  8. https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/63644616-ricky-argenbright You're welcome to friend me!
  9. https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/63644616-ricky-argenbright Feel free to friend me! Always neat meeting other Sanderfans.
  10. Is this where we post about mayonnaise the instrument, or the condiment?
  11. The short amount of hours between these two statements means that we should all be proud of this man. Considering the potential size of this novel... he's a little bit dedicated. He's working hard, and he's doing this for YOU. A Highstorm cometh...
  12. [David] Are my metaphors not clear enough? Personally, I feel like they're all very good. Father would have been proud. Next dimension father is. Sorry... similes. (She's never going to let that go.) I'd have to say that I'm torn, like a glittery mobile cover caught between two very strong female epics. On the one hand, I can understand his reasons for killing. I validated killing several epics myself, one of them point blank. Although I still regret having to use my handgun. I would have preferred my rifle. On the other hand, Brandon Sanderson has not killed me personally. So for now, I'd say we have an uneasy truce.
  13. [David] That depends... will it be used against me in this court of law? Alright, fine. Megan said I have to, or else. She can be quite scary sometimes. Everyone wanted to kill Steelheart, just like everyone wants to crucify Brandon Sanderson for harming us. But everyone didn't kill him... I did. And no one will crucify Brandon Sanderson. He will continue harming us. I ate all of the peanut butter, and left none for anyone else. And so did Brandon Sanderson. We ate it together, like two birds having grabbed the same piece of bacon to go with their eggs. That should be clear enough for you. I rest my case.
  14. [David] Yes! I like this plan! In case this helps at all, everyone knows that I killed Steelheart, right? You know... Steelheart? That's like opening the jar of peanut butter and leaving none for anyone else.
  15. [David] Agreed! This is like slicing a potato with an apple slicer!
  16. Yeah, I thought that was pretty awesome! I can tell throughout the course of his books that he's been trying to actively remove real profanity, which I can appreciate because I feel that it isn't needed to replicate good emotion. All of the profanity replacements he comes up with are amazing. I started doing the same in my own writing! Referencing more than just this comment specifically, I wonder if Brandon was thinking that it needed to be quick like that because Calamity knew that David knew. And if he did, he could probably kill him pretty quickly. Perhaps the rush was to get there before he had time to react? Also, the only reason I feel that he kept the romance meter low between David and Megan was because this series is considered YA, not adult.
  17. I actually felt similar. He gave us enough of a foreshadow that we knew he had some level of Steelheart's power set, but he didn't even use it actively until the very end. Even when he had the dowser fail against him several times I still knew he had the powers, which made it more interesting that he didn't have him explore them. It was like he wanted to deny it so much that he pretended he didn't have them. "If I think hard enough, I won't be the thing I hate most. Like a peanut butter and goat cheese sandwich thinking that it won't be eaten." - David
  18. There were several indecisive ones I spoke to, but yes, that would be me! I also recorded everything except the signing lines.
  19. I'll remain in the shadows just in case this gets dangerous.
  20. So... I know this one guy who happens to be a right hander. If this one guy were to join... would this one guy see equal treatment? Would this one guy become the scapegoat of the right hander humor, or would this one guy be celebrated for his differences and accepted into a tribe of open minded left handers? Just let me know... you know... so I can tell this one guy. He's great by the way... this one guy.
