So. You were at Helgen? You saw this dragon with your own eyes?

(I have no clue which mod added the mask. It was clogging my inventory, so I gave it to him. As for the armor, it's from Immersive Armors. Specifically, it's the Brigand Dwemer Breastplate, I believe. Cool mod.)

The dragon destroyed Helgen. And last I saw it was heading this way.

Elsie came back into view. "I have too, from the police, actually. But not because I was avoiding jail. The stakes have been raised!"

“Well we’ll just have to deal with it. There isn’t anything we can do right now to reverse what happened.”

Jenny looked around. A few people were staring at them. She lowered her voice.

”Also, we should avoid mentioning this where other people can hear it.”

The doors to the elevator opened and she quickly stepped inside, moving out of the range of the stares.

  3. Just now, Random Bystander said:

"Oh my gosh I'm gonna go to jail." She vanished from view.

Shoot. Jenny had handled that really terribly. The poor thing was terrified.

”Elsie, I promise I’m gonna do everything I can to keep that from happening, ok? I’ve been on the run before, I have experience with this.”

She had technically been on the run from monsters, not people, but she figured that was close enough for some of what she had learned to be applicable. Jenny looked around, trying to spot if Elsie had reappeared somewhere.

  4. 2 minutes ago, Random Bystander said:

Elsie paused. Her face then paled. "Wait, am a wanted criminal now?!?!"

Oh. Jenny was probably making Elsie scared. She was talking loudly, which might mean she was upset.

”Yes, but we’ll probably be fine. We’ve managed to get this far while being wanted criminals. We just need to keep up with what we’ve been doing.”

She wasn’t sure what exactly it was they were doing that was keeping them from being caught, but Elsie didn’t need to know that. She seemed to be, understandably, prone to panicking.

  5. 1 minute ago, Random Bystander said:

"Dang. You're all wanted criminals, huh?" She joked.

    “Yes.”

Jenny took Elsie’s question seriously and was most certainly not joking. She was seriously regretting their decision to venture into a crowded city that had cameras everywhere. They should’ve been more careful. They were on a quest and had decided to risk going to a freaking tourist attraction!

  6. 11 minutes ago, Random Bystander said:

"Oh. That's... Not good. People probably got photos, then."

    “Almost definitely. It happened before.”

Jenny pulled out the newspaper chronicling their apparent slaughter of puppies and showed it to Elsie. It had a picture of her on the front, although it didn’t show her face. It was unlikely that the pictures probably taken of their newest fight had the same saving grace.

"So..." Elsie said. "Are we going to be able to get on another train? You guys said there's that stuff that prevents people who aren't like us from seeing what's actually happening, but does that mean they wouldn't see that we had anything to do with the chaos?"

“We’ve already gotten in trouble with the mortal side of the world for stuff. We killed a bunch of hellhounds and some furies, but to regular people they looked like puppies and old ladies. We’ll probably get in trouble for this too.”

Jenny sighed. Why did this confrontation have to happen in front of so many people? This was why she didn’t like cities.

”We need to leave here as soon as possible once we regroup again. I don’t know if getting on a train again will be an option.”

  8. 1 minute ago, Weaver of Lights said:

“…yeah.” This would be embarrassing, but not as bad as if he were to faint trying to walk.

Jenny nodded and carefully picked Ed up, trying to avoid jostling him. She started off towards the elevator, making sure that Terrance and Elsie were following. She whispered to Ed as they walked.

    ”Thanks for telling me.”

“Maybe?” he grunted through a new wave of pain. “I…” she didn’t want him to lie to her. His face fell. “Probably not.”

     He was weak.

“Are you ok with me carrying you?”

Jenny wanted to make sure Ed would be fine with her carrying him. It could embarrass him. He might prefer a different option of some sort, although she couldn’t think of any alternatives. He was smarter than she was, though. He could probably figure something out.

  10. 9 minutes ago, Weaver of Lights said:

His vision started to go black again as he stood and he swayed heavily despite Jenny’s help. He didn’t quite black out though.

“Are you sure you can walk?”

Ed seemed like he could barely stand. Jenny was worried he would collapse as soon as he tried to take a step. She was also worried that he wouldn’t acknowledge his wooziness. He hated the idea of being a burden. Hopefully he realized that passing out completely would just make things more difficult for everyone.

  11. 7 minutes ago, Weaver of Lights said:

“I can walk, I think. Or hobble.” He gave her Weak smile. Hopefully that would help her feel better. “Can you help me stand?”

    “Of course.”

He was smiling. Did that mean he wasn’t hurting too badly? Jenny hoped so. She attempted to carefully help Ed up, trying to support as much of his weight as she could. A leg injury made movement very difficult. This was an especially inconvenient time for movement to be very difficult.

  12. 2 hours ago, Weaver of Lights said:

“That…might be a stretch.” Sitting down helped his head a little, his vision began returning to normal. “Thanks for helping me, sorry I got hurt again.” He winced at the pain in his leg again.

“It’s ok. It’s not your fault.”

Ed must really be hurting. That hurt Jenny, too. Seeing him in pain and not being able to help was awful. They didn’t have time to rest, however. They needed to flee the scene of the fight as soon as possible.

”We need to go rejoin the others. Do you think you can stand, or would you like me to carry you instead?”

  13. 6 hours ago, Weaver of Lights said:

He winced as she worked, trying not to show how much it hurt. He had been able ignore it in the heat of the moment but now the pain crashed down on him. His vision started to grow black from the pain.

Ed looked funny. Jenny assumed that meant something was wrong, since he had just lost a lot of blood and was probably in pain. She eased him into a sitting position in case he passed out.

    ”Ed? You ok?”

She tied off his bandage, inspecting her handiwork. It wasn’t particularly neat, but it would do. It had at least stopped the bleeding. Jenny considered wrapping a second bandage around the first, but eventually opted against it. They had a limited supply and it might hurt Ed too much to be worth it.

Asylum, Smokestack, Koloss Head Munching Day Carnival.

After more than a three month delay, the Koloss Head Munching Day Carnival had come to Smokestack. Children ate head shaped candy apples as they watched people try to win Koloss themed prizes. Most failed, except for one notorious winner.

”And the newest ring toss record goes to Asylum Smedry!” Lucky said through a microphone as the crowd roared. “Thank you, thank you.” Asylum said with a grin. “You are all so kind.” The KHMD Carnival was the only yearly festivals Asylum thought was worth keeping. Competitions of skill, practice, but most importantly luck were played by all, and as long as Asylum kept up their annual display, the owners gave them a cut of the money.

“What are you planning next boss.” Lucky said with a playful smile. the forger was wearing an extravagant suit with a two foot tall top hat. She looked at Asylum with thrill dancing in her eyes. “Let’s let the crowd decide.” Asylum said before stepping up onto a podium. “Bring me to the next challenge!” They said before jumping into the crowd. As the were carried onwards, they closed their eyes and smiled. It had been a while since they had been so relaxed. Hopefully, with luck, this day would get even better.

Eza, Smokestack, Koloss Head Munching Day Carnival

Eza was thankful for the crowds. An unremarkable, short girl weaving her way through a throng of people was incredibly difficult to spot. While she couldn’t become invisible, this was almost better, in a way. The sound of footsteps from a supposedly empty alley was far more suspicious than a faceless carnival-goer who was expected to be there.

She’d managed to swipe a small koloss plushie; the fair prizes weren’t guarded very carefully. Its button eyes and felt eyebrows gave the toy an angry expression. It wasn’t particularly unlikely for a girl like her to have won the plushie, so she didn’t bother to hide it under her cloak. It rounded out her attempt to fit in with the crowd. Plus, it was really cute.

Normally, Eza would have to contend with the difficulties of keeping track of someone in a tightly packed area like this carnival. Fortunately, Lum was not a particularly hard person to follow. She watched as they were loudly announced to the crowd, then dived into it. Lum had literally just publicly burned down a building. Their face was still plastered on wanted posters from their run in with that weird obligator guy, too. Weren’t they worried about the authorities?

Apparently they thought that they were invincible. They also seemed to desperately want to test that theory. Eza knew that she couldn’t stop them. She also knew that she probably couldn’t save them. They’d inevitably end up getting her killed if she got too close. So why was she here?

Lum was leaving her sight, no longer conveniently standing on a podium, so she had no time to stop and think. She ducked her head and wove through the fairgoers, following the person who really should’ve given more of a care.

  15. 1 hour ago, Weaver of Lights said:

“A…couple. In my bag.” His head was spinning, it was getting hard to think.

Jenny grabbed the bandages from Ed’s bag and quickly started to wrap one around his leg. She tried her best to be gentle, but that was difficult when she was rushing like this. He was bleeding more than she had assumed. She hadn’t paid his injury enough attention.

  16. 2 hours ago, Weaver of Lights said:

Edgar sagged against Jenny, putting more of his weight on her. He felt bad, but it was the only way he could stand. He was weak. She deserved someone stronger than him.

Jenny had no idea what to do. She’d already given Ed ambrosia, and his wound didn’t seem life-threatening enough to warrant gorgon blood. She tried to think about how he’d helped her before.

”Do you have some bandages still?”

He was still actively bleeding, which they needed to stop.

  17. 1 minute ago, Random Bystander said:

Elsie stood up, and wiped her face. "Sorry. I just had to get out of there."

    @Lunamor, @Weaver of Lights

    “It’s alright.”

Jenny didn’t really understand the feeling of being sad about killing a monster. She’d always hated them- they were cruel, evil beings who hated her too. She supposed that killing one could be hard if you weren’t familiar with that, though. And the chimera had been kinda cute, in a grotesque way.
