  1. One of my favorite moments and one that I found was just amazing was during Oathbringer when Shallan was huddled in an abandoned house and Wit told her the story of the girl who looked up. I thought it was a great way to bring that story back around and give it a whole new meaning and it was emotionally fitting. Especially with what Wit said to her afterwards. I also really liked when Adolin was outnumbered in the duel and Dalinar begged for anyone to help him and it was only Kaladin that stood up for him. And another great one was when Kelsier just lost his army and he's sitting down and starts hatching his new plan. Honestly the way Sanderson delivered that really sold me on his writing and made me just want to read every single one of his books. Sorry for so many but those are the ones I always go back to when I think about rereading something.
  2. Welcome man! Like the previous poster I'm pretty new to the forums too, but have been reading Sanderson's books for a couple of years now. I came up with my name by what I always imagined people viewing me as, that one tall guy. So I thought I'd be cute and change the that to dat. So what made you join the forum? I joined it because of a paper I was working on and eventually just got sucked in and ended up checking in every once in a while.
  3. Hey everybody! Just wanted to thank you all for offering to be interviewed and showing an interest in helping me! I was able to get my paper turned in on time because of it and that is a HUGE relief off my shoulders! Also for introducing me to the Shard and how many great people are on it, if I wasn't so knee deep in school work I would definitely get lost among all of this. I hope to actually get involved with the Shard during winter break and explore all it's nooks and crannies. So again thank you for your answers to my calls for help, and also for showing me that a fan base that I thought might be interesting turned out to be really awesome! Till another time, tootles!
  4. Yeah you are probably right. So the paper I am currently writing is the second paper of the semester, the first one was about something we were proficient in or enjoyed doing. I chose reading as my topic and since Brandon Sanderson is my favorite authors and has played a pretty big part of my life for the past couple of years, he played a big part in that paper. The paper I am currently writing is about discourse communities (if you wanna research more about what that is you can look up "The Concept of Discourse Communities by John Swales) and for my community I chose to write about Brandon Sanderson's fan base. The questions I would be asking are going to be something like "what made you interested in joining the community?" or "do you view yourself as an expert within the community or a novice and why do you view yourself that way?" Also the interview will be over email so you won't have to worry about scheduling a time to actually talk. If you have any more questions that I may have missed answering feel free to ask!
  5. So I'm doing an English paper for college and I need to interview someone for it. My paper is about the Brandon Sanderson fan community so obviously I went here. I would prefer someone who has been on these forums for a while but honestly it doesn't matter too much. If you are at all interested you can email me at harrisonpeglar@gmail. I'll only ask you a couple of questions and should only take at most 15 minutes. Thanks in advance and if you want to know more about the paper I'm writing and why I need an interview so you can know I'm legit I have no problem answering questions.
