  1. I am almost at the halfway point in RoW. I'm halfway thru Lift's interlude (pg.560). My question is this...... Since Lift was granted the request by Cultivation, what is she now becoming? And if it isn't Stormlight she's using, what light is she using?? I'm wondering if she is becoming perhaps a vessel for Cultivation? And if thats the case, then would that mean Dalinar is a vessel for Honor? Sorry, kinda turned into more than 1 question, lol. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks. BTW, I am absolutely living this book thus far.
  2. My only disappointment is Shallan in Oathbringer. I dont really care for her as a character. I dont like the whole premise that Veil and Radiant are "taking over", so to speak. I enjoyed Shallan the most in WoR, but her storyline took a turn for the worse in OB. I loved Dalinar in OB though, so I guess it kind of offsets. It's been enjoyable seeing Dalinar recall his past and overcoming who he once was to become who he is meant to be.
  3. I am 2 chapters away from completing Words of Radiance and I am left speechless. Many things are concluded, yet so many new questions begin. I am so amped to see, who I believe is Nightblood, on Roshar!! Although it isnt one of his most popular novels, I loved Warbreaker. With the way it ended I always figured there would eventually be a sequel to it, but this is even better. I loved Vasher and Nightblood and thought they deserved more of their story being told. What will Nightblood be capable of in Szeth's hands?? I cant wait to find out!!
  4. I'm 600 pgs into WoR and am beginning to piece together some small pieces. Then again, I could read on and be way off base. Shallan is seeking Urithiru now and Dalinar just found the scratchings "32 days. Seek the center". For some reason it just kind of hit me that earlier in the book the Parshendi are staying in an old abandoned city that they say the humans dont even recognize as being man made structures. I believe that will come to be found as being Urithiru. I am also beginning to wonder about Shallan and her having a liespren. I just have this bad feeling that the Pattern will turn out to not be on the side of good and will bring Shallan along with her.
  5. Ya, I'm trying to avoid going there until I am completely caught up. I just have about 400 pages left in WoR, then Edgedancer, Oathbringer and both White Sand books
  6. I am on chapter 46 right now in WoR. Kaladin is out drinking with the guys and Rock is just now talking about the Water of Life in the peaks and how it's a place of the gods. I haven't finished the chapter yet (half way thru pg 540), but this sounds like it may be a shard pool. Am I correct in this assumption?
  7. Are you referring to the 3 at Purelake who seemed to be searching to find Hoid? I figured they were, but had no idea who they were in the other novels.
  8. Okay, I have a question. I'm about 400 pgs into Words of Radiance. I have read all Mistborn books currently out, Warbreaker, Elantris, Emperors Soul, and obviously WoK. Also, everything in Arcanum Unbounded that relates to how far I am into the Cosmere books. This may be a stupid question, but is Hoid a shard bearer? I thought there was only 16 shards, but how else could he jump between worlds? If this is something I will find out later in WoR or Oathbringer, then just say that, but as of now it just has me confused how he has the power to do what he does and I'm wondering if I missed something along the way??
  9. I had finished WoK, then read book 2 in the Licanius trilogy and am now about 120 pgs into Words of Radiance. The ending to WoK was freaking awesome. There was the 1 line that just gave me chills. " I am..... I was..... God. The one you call the Almighty, the creator of mankind. And now I am dead. Odium has killed me. I am sorry". If that is not the best final line in a book (not counting the epilogue), idk what is!!! Btw, I did receive Oathbringer for Christmas, so I have a good cpl weeks worth of reading between WoR, Edgedancer and Oathbringer. Like McDonalds, I'm loving it!!
  10. I'm in chapter 46 right now and am getting so excited! Odium was just mentioned for the 1st time. I feel like Im finally starting to get a feel for the bigger story. Prior to reading Bands of Mourning, I had felt like an idiot, like why was I not getting all this other stuff about the bigger story of Cosmere that everyone else was talking about. All I was getting was the main story within each book. Bands of Mourning started hinting at the bigger picture and WoK is slowly doing the same. Btw, I have read the Mistborn trilogy, Warbreaker, Elantris, Emerors Soul, all the Wax and Wayne Mistborn books that are out currently and all the short stories in Arcanum that involves the aforementioned books. Cant wait to finish The Way of Kings and start digging in to Words of Radiance. And I'm hoping that my wife gets me Oathbringer and both volumes of White Sand for Christmas. Anyways, I'm glad that the bigger picture is slowly coming into view and cant wait for more!!
  11. Okay, I just finished Shadows of Self and wow, it was great. Things are getting interesting. I do have a question. Will I find out in Bands of Mourning if the unidentified metal given to Bleeder was of an origin from another planet in the Cosmere and has to do with more than just Scadrial? Or is it really from the "lost god" Trell.
  12. The length is one thing I loved about it. I just loved immersing myself in that world. I could just read and completely lose myself in the story. As you said it is quite detailed. Jordan, in my opinion, was one of the best world builders there ever was. So far, I am completely enamored with the whole concept of the Cosmere. Sanderson is some kind of genius to come up with this and more than that he is so talented to be able to pull it off.
  13. Yes, I absolutely love the Wheel of Time. I read every book in the series within about 3-4 months, so I'm sure I will continue to burn through these books as well. As for the 2 White Sand books, I have a couple questions. 1) The White Sand that is in Arcsnum Unbounded, is it just a portion of the 1st White Sand, or is it the whole book? 2) Where can you find them? I have had no luck locating copies.
  14. I had did a little research before beginning the series and talked to some people on the Wheel of Time forum that I am a member of and came up with this order. Mistborn : Era 1 Trilogy Elantris Warbreaker The Emperor's Soul The Hope of Elantris Mistborn: Eleventh Metal Mistborn: The Alloy of Law Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania Mistborn: Shadows of Self Mistborn: The Bands of Mourning Mistborn: Secret History The Way of Kings Words of Radiance Edgedancer Oathbringer White Sand Sixth of Dusk Shadows For Silence in the Forests of Hell If ther's anyone with suggestions on altering the order any, please let me know. I have all the books up to TWoK. I actually just got a signed copy of it for my birthday (gotta love my wife, lol).
  15. Also, what is the upvote you spoke of?
