  1. That would be amazing! USA network should definitely make that happen! You gotta love Burt and the amazing job the tv networks did of editing out his language. “Broke into the wrong goshdarn wreckroom didn’t you, you big jerk” best line ever... I too love Longmire and can’t believe they are letting it go. A Longmire movie could be interesting especially with the directions characters went in the last episode. Currently I have been watching Broadchurch on Netflix. I’ve watched it about 7 times now. It’s amazing. Olivia Coleman and David Tennant are amazing. I can’t even keep going, It’s too emotional, there is no more, it is over forever....
  2. Blade of the Immortal (actually the title of the comic but pretty cool name for a sword) and the name of one of the protagonist’s weapons (when translated) is Sister Defender, which I think is pretty amazing. Tessaiga (translated Iron-Crushing Fang) Tenseiga (Heavenly Rebirth Fang) Also always thought Ghanima, the character from Dune, would be a cool sword/weapon name since, if I remember right, means spoil of war.
  3. So this doesn’t have your last name or contain a pun (loved all the other suggestions btw) but your description of discussing fantasy writers made me think of the Inklings, the literary group of which Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were members. They met regularly in a pub called The Eagle and Child (nicknamed The Bird and Baby). Maybe you could do something with one of those, either the Inklings or The Eagle and Child, kind of like an online form of the group or pub, where fantasy enthusiasts can go.
  4. Kaladin Also @PelekinikeleT your mom is inscrutable and you should apologize to anyone who listened to that song
  5. At least Sadeas was nice to his wife and didn’t have children. I think Sadeas was every bit as bad as Straff in his larger interactions with people and the world, but every small and unseen interaction of Straff’s was cruel and sadistic. His treatment of women and children in particular make him inherently more evil in my opinion.
  6. So true. Didn’t even realize how far it was over my head until I read some of the topics on here. People are legit discussing the physics of investiture and I’m all like ‘Sazed is super cool’ Anyway, welcome. Do you have a favorite part or character in The Final Empire?
  7. @hoiditthroughthegrapevine I feel the same about Brothers K Since we are reducing things to one sentence, I came across this and thought it might be appreciated by other Russian literature fans
  8. I read more sci-fi than fantasy, so this might not be what you’re looking for, but Orson Scott Card’s Homecoming series has some female characters (in my opinion there are multiple protagonists, and I’d count these female characters as such, though others may disagree) that I’ve loved and never forgotten since I read this series at 16.
  9. Wow! Nailed Smokey and the Bandit I love it! I also love the theme song! which in itself sums it up pretty well too ‘we got a long way to go and a short time to get there, we’re gonna do what they say can’t be done’ Labryinth: David Bowie IS the goblin king and that’s all that matters....(at least that’s all I remember) Anyone up for Brothers K by Dostoevsky?
  10. @PelekinikeleT That’s what I’m talkin about lol
  11. I’d go all Laura Roslin on them. Haters Out The Airlock!!! or maybe Fremen...take their water.
  12. And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good. John Steinbeck
  13. wow I forgot about Taravangian saying “look for the ones who survive when they should not”. Should we call him Mr. Glass? also @RShara crapton is the perfect word for the amount of foreshadowing Sanderson does and should henceforth always be used when referring to it
  14. So this is very short and exclusively Dalinar’s plot, but.... Stormlight: Reformed alcoholic follows his dreams.
  15. Did you ever know you were my gooooat... you are the goat beneath myyyy goat
  16. That is a great moment. Honor is dead, but I’ll see what I can do. I would recommend Warbreaker. Especially since there is crossover characters in Stormlight. That’s really not a spoiler if you’ve read Stormlight first. I read Stormlight before Warbreaker first too and it was pretty amazing for that reason.
  17. I made a funny! - master splinter tmnt credits on a more philosophical note...
  18. @PelekinikeleT Or a ragtag crew of misfits, an unlikely alliance of highly skilled specialists brought together by one common goal.....DESTROY EVIL!!!!!!
  19. Blerg! I hate picking favorites of things but I can narrow it down. Sazed was my favorite in mistborn from the start. In Stormlight, The Highprince of Dads: Dalinar Kholin, but also Lift (since she is my homegirl) and Wyndle (my house plant;) I la-loved shai in The Emperor’s Soul and feel that more than any other of Brandon’s works that novella showcases some amazing writing skills that surpass genre, to do what he did in such a short story. And....... NIGHTBLOOD!!!!!!! Because I’m a naturally suspicious person with a strong desire to destroy evil. Oh! and also 6th of Dusk blew my mind a little bit. Hmmmmm, maybe not so narrow?!
  20. I was so happy to find this topic. I loved TES. I hadn’t read it until Arcanum Unbounded came out after I’d already read Mistborn, Stormlight and Warbreaker. It was so short compared to Brandon’s other works, but with the same impact as his much longer stories. I was really impressed.
  21. I love the library return Printables. Library humor gets me every time.
