  1. That's why I read more classics. They're classics for a reason and I am rarely disappointed. Can't say the same for fantasy books. I hated The Name of the Wind but apparently Brandon loved it? He gave it a great review but I doubt he's being honest. I watched some of his lectures on writing plots, fight scenes, romances, and good characters and he seems to have a criteria for fantasy books that The Name of the Wind doesn't fit at all. I was hoping the main character would die too. I was so happy when Elodin got Kvothe to jump off a roof.
  2. I still very much enjoy reading but I try to stay away from fantasy that isn't written by Brandon Sanderson. Nothing can ever beat Mistborn for me. I recently read The Name of the Wind and hurled it against the wall because it was quiet possibly one of the worst books I've read all year. And I blame Sanderson. He made me expect too much. I think Mistborn was the perfect fantasy trilogy. I would go as far as saying that it could become a classic in the genre if more people appreciated it.
  3. Omg who picked Kelsier as their least favorite member of Kelsier's crew?
  4. How the hell are y'all breathing after the Mistborn trilogy? It's been years since I first read it and it still hurts to think about it. Since then, I've only read Elantris and Warbreaker. What is the best cure for post Mistborn depression? Reading Mistborn Era 2? Can any of the characters even hold a candle to Kelsier? Asking because I am seriously concerned for my own mental health. Sanderson should publish a self help book for after you're done with Mistborn? Is that book Secret History, by any chance?
  5. Every single Mistborn book Wuthering Heights End of Eternity Mother Night Catch-22 City of Thieves The Curious Incident of the Dog at Nightime Flowers for Algernon
  6. I haven't watched a lot of anime so my opinion could be invalid but I always imagined a Mistborn adaption to be a real grim and dark one. I am not sure I'll be able to find the Inquisitors and The Lord Ruler terrifying if everything's drawn in anime style and I don't think that mainstream audiences will either. There is a plus to having everything drawn though, people won't have any trouble with the cast.
  7. @ people who picked Kelsier as their favorite member of Kelsier's crew... what?
  8. The first Mistborn book is one of my favorites. Not saying the trilogy drags off a bit, it just gets a lot more intense.
  9. Michael Fassbender for Kelsier. It might not be realistic but if he has time for that Assassin's Creed movie, he can do Mistborn. I think RDJ doesn't fit the physical attributes of Kelsier and could be too old.
